Official AUGUST 2008 CODES to be posted here please!!:)

I am still hoping for a miracle. Last year our airfare was $128 roundtrip from Newark to MCo. Then we were kicked out the AKL to SSr for construction and given back money. When we arrived we got a free upgrade to a 2bdroom villa. That was the cheapest best Disney trip ever.:lmao: Now that I know low airfare is possible I have been hoping continental will have another special.

We got a pretty good deal through NWA 8/24-8/31 non-stop, roundtrip, reasonable departure times for $660 total for 4 tickets... Now I am hoping for a code as I am currently paying rack rate for Disney.

When I called and talked to reservations I asked about a code and when she searched explained there was one attached to my home address. I have also read that they will send them via email or regular mail.

This month I booked 6 RT from BWI to MCO for August 13-20 for under $600.00. Non-stop and great times. It was AirTran. Not sure where all they fly out of. They seem to have good prices, I have traveled with them before and have never had a problem.

Hmmmm, I've been waiting for codes and pins but I'm thinking I'll just call and ask!

Just curious..... since you all are talking about flights.....
Do airlines typically adjust the price if you book now and then it goes down in price later?
Right now I can get $218 for RT in August, but I know I've seen it go down more during that time of year.
But.... who knows with the economy.... don't want to take the chance of it going up.
I could definitely live with $218 though.:thumbsup2

A lot of people don't know this, but there's something called a "guaranteed airfare policy," where most airlines offer refunds or travel credits when fares drop below the price of a ticket purchased at an airline's Web site. Send yapta.com (stands for your amazing personal travel assistant) your itinerary and they'll tell you when there's a price drop. As long as you contact the airline while prices are at the lower level, you get the refund — in the form of credit — even if prices spike back up above your initial purchase price.

I found a good quote from them at the times I want to fly, non-stop for $253 per person from DFW to MCO. Better than my preferred carrier AA.

Wow, out of Vegas I get pretty darn good pricing through most common carriers. If its more than $230 a ticket I don't book.

I was able to book dh and myself $200 round trip but we are going to Ft Lauderdale first and then flying out of MCO. The boys I got for $230. I had good times and the price wasn't too bad so I booked them

I agree with you! As noted in a previous post, I had a code for March -April via a postcard. I called just to see what would happen for booking our summer trip and I did have 40% off starting August 10. I have yet to see a postcard or e-mail that state the deal, but I am not complaining!

I had to shop around but I was able to find a RT per person for $197 total (that's with all the extra fees and taxes included). It was through NorthWest Airlines; non-stop IND to MCO.

I hope you all can find good airfares for yourselves.
:)

Castaway dave~ THANKS for the Yapta Tracker info. This is the first I heard of it. I will def be using that nifty tool. So much to learn from everyone here.

Nicole,
I too fly AA out of Ohare to Disney each year. This year the tickets for August have sold way faster than usual. Past three years I went during August and one September and each time I was able to wait till May to buy tickets and barely any seats would be sold in May. This year there are a lot more seats gone and it's only February.

I bought our August tickets a few weeks ago and hoped to wait but figured they would only go up in price from here and they are already $30 more each way pp than they were last year even at their lowest price. I was lucky and got our seats for $119 each way pp

We go on a cruise at least once a year, usually out of Florida, so I've gotten pretty good with the AA Web site and the ups and downs of the prices. It was hanging around $270/pp for awhile. It's down in the $230s right now. I found it for $208 last week but it went back up. That's if we change our dates (fly in a day or two early). If we do it as it is now, flying in on Sunday and flying home on Saturday, it's over $400/pp (going as high as $520/pp). If we did that, that would cost us more than half of what we're paying for six nights at the GF, four day passes, and deluxe dining. I'd rather save that and do a short trip later this year!

Our problem is since my sister has to move back to school the next day, we have some rigidity in our plans (we can't take a 7:20pm flight home because of the chance it could get delayed and she'd have to get right off the plane and have to drive three hours back to school) so it's just been a lot of playing around with times and dates that work :surfweb:

Flights into and out of Tampa from O'Hare are pretty empty for our dates, and it's less than an hour-and-a-half's drive. If it comes down to saving $1200 or taking the Magical Express, we'll just fly into Tampa and rent a car. We've done the drive before (we did a last minute trip to Disney before one of our cruises) and it's pretty easy, so I'm not too worried.

Hello everyone well we are scheduled to goto the world in july but unfortunately it's not looking like that is going to happen now! Originally I was thinking of switching to august if free dining was offered but now I have to switch to august because my daughter is entering high school and she signed up for Cheerleading and Cheer Camp is a requirement and it is that week! I also cannot go the first week of august! So my dilemma is which week to go? I am now definitely trying to shoot for the free dining time frame as I have to change my trip so the bonus would be awesome! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you Thank you...I had read about yapta.com but then couldn't remember the site. I will use this from now on...I just checked my flights (New York, LaGuardia to MCO) and had paid $218...they are now $449.

Glad I booked previously...Tim

OK! Thanks! So do you think I should switch now or wait til April! ? We R definitely going in August now but I really want to aim for free dining so should I just wait it out until General Public anouncement in April?or march like some rumors are saying that would be sweet since my dilemma! Thanks for your input!:confused3
