Subscribing...........Already have bouncback rate at Wilderness Lodge in August, but would like to keep up to date if anything else if offered. Doubt it will get any better than the 30% discount, but you never know..... Would be nice to get free dining

This year for the bounceback offer of free dining it started 8/30 and ended at the end of September. You might be able to use it for a couple of days if the same dates are open to the public. Your later dates will also be busier because it is over Labor day weekend and free dining will begin for the bounce back people while you are there so you will see a surge of people at the resort toward the end of your stay. I experienced this one year when we stayed 4 days before the free dining began and it made a huge difference in the crowds at the resort but not too much of a difference at the parks.

It seems each year they have scaled back when the free dining begins. Two years ago it started in mid-August. Last year it started at the beginning of the last week of August. Now, for 2008, it wasn't offered until the very end of August (when we were offered the bounceback we were very dissappointed - as we wanted to use it the last week of August again - we cant do the first week of September or on, because school starts.....)

So, if they do offer if to the general public, it still wont have the great August dates of the last few times - bummer.

FYI, for those who are kind of new to free-dining, as others have said it was offered beginning in early May, BUT many of the travel agents who frequent this board, knew a couple of weeks beforehand and dropped tons of hints!

It is a program that you have to be on-site at the time to take advantage of it. Now that you are home, I think it is too late to do so.

We were at CSR from 12/10 to 12/14 and there wasn't a flyer in our room about the bounceback. I had to ask the CM at the front desk for it. Bounceback is a promotion to book a room between certain dates while you are staying at a Disney resort. I don't think you can make the reservations once you get home. You could call to find out. I booked POFQ for 8/16 to 8/23, and got a 30% discount for the room. If free dining comes out for the general public in April, I'll cancel the room reservation and book with the free dining.

We are in the exact same boat. I was so excited when I saw the free dining bounce back offer in our room this past August, until I saw that it didn't start until September. I wish they had the other bounceback when I was there. I would have been all over that 30%. Oh well, subscribing and keeping my fingers crossed. My kids and I really want to take my mother and niece(13) who haven't been in ten years and my nephew(8) who has never been. Can't afford it without some kind of special offer.

Thanks! I am hoping that even if they don't offer free dining to the general public again this year that I can get some sort of discount code. If not, we will just stick with going in December.

Similar with us...if free dining comes out for the second half of August 2008 we'll go then before the kids' school starts in September. But if free dining starts at the end of August, say August 30, then we'll wait until post-Christmas/beginning of January for our next trip to Disney World.

I know!!! When I saw that flyer on my pillow I got SOOOO excited!!!!! THEN. I saw the date....bummer. We do hope to go back this August - we'll see.

Seems like we were at POR the same week - how'd you like it? Will you stay there next time? It was ok to us, though we hope to try something different next time but still onsite. If we get free-dining it will work, otherwise it's off-site for us.

When we were at WDW in Aug 2007 we were offered a "free-dining" promo that started on Aug 31st (or 30th?) of 2008. You had to book it while at WDW and the promo has since ended. So there IS free-dining for those who booked it then - whether or not it will open up to the general public (and for what time period) is still unknown. If it is like many years they will annouce it in early April 2008. Boy, I sure hope so!!!!!!!!!!
