OFFICIAL April 2012 DISers! 2 months and counting!

Last week I found out I am gluten intolerant, so I spent all afternoon going through where/what I can eat at each park and I typed it all up then printed, and glued to 1/4 sheet of card stock. I can daily slip that parks cheat sheet into my fanny pack and pull it out when I get hungry. AWESOME.

the crowd calenders keep changing - I hope they are done now.
Here is our final (I HOPE) plans:

April 27th - arrive around 2 or 3. Downtown Disney (very quickly) just to run to Babycakes to pick up some gluten free bread, cupcakes & donuts.
April 28th - Animal Kingdom- Dinner at Garden Grove @ The Swan 6:30
April 29th - Hollywood Studios
April 30th - Epcot
May 1 - Magic Kingdom
May 2 Magic Kingdom - Hair appt 11:30am, Wishes Dessert Party 9pm
May 3 - Epcot
May 4 - Magic Kingdom
May 5 - Animal Kingdom
May 6 - Hollywood Studios
May 7 - Epcot - or what ever we feel like

Glad you got some answeres about the gluten thing. It'll be nice to know how to fix it now.

Maybe run into you on the April 28th, May 3rd, or 4th as we'll be at the same parks except I wouldn't know who to look for so you'll just have to read my pretrip so you know what i look like and say hello to me :thumbsup2 lol

on the 28th for Animal Kingdom we will be wearing Yellow shirts with our names in them and safari Mickey & Minnie around our names.

May 3rd for Epcot we will be wearing Red shirts with DISNEY 2012 on them.

May 4th for Magic Kingdom we will be wearing White shirts with stick figures in them that will say "The Johnsons"

Also I will check out your pre-trip report.

I started following the weather in Orlando and they are forecasting high temps of 88-90 for the next week! Wondering if this it's going to go even higher in 2 weeks for our trip.

ugh, I really don't like that!!

A friend just got back from being there this past week-end and she said the heat wasn't too bad ~ that it was hot, but there was a nice breeze. She also said they didn't wait over 30 minutes for anything ~ that was good to hear! Oh, and the POTC was down the whole time...hope it gets fixed quick! My 3 year old keeps talking about the pirate ride.

We go on Sunday! Monday we go to the Mets/Braves game. I think I'll have to bring lots of sunscreen!:sunny:

I've been checking in on Touringplans.com the past couple of days and POTC has mostly been running with maybe a couple of brief interruptions, so I think you'll be okay.

I'm just hoping for mid 80s for temp but that maybe asking for too much.

Has anybody ever used one of these passes before??
I think there are only a few parking spaces in each park, right?
When DH picked up my park tickets yesterday- they asked if he wanted one.
I was so PSYCHED when he got home. If we go through AAA for our trips we always forget about that stupid pass.
DH knew about the spaces but didn't ask them any questions- typical man!

We've used the passes for our 2 previous trips and will again this time. I like them for every park but MK, because the MK lot for AAA is really off to the side and you have to walk further to get to the TTC. So for MK you are better off parking and taking the tram to the TTC unless you have a stroller etc. that you dont want to pack up and dont mind walking a ways. There were quite a few spaces available when we went, usually over by the handicapped parking.

got it written down :) Figured i better do it NOW instead of thinking in a week to go back and look and not be able to find it as we all seem to fly through the pages REAL fast on here. lol

Please tell me it's asking too much b/c it will most likely be cooler than that?? (and not because it will be hotter :scared1: ).

I am so nervous about the heat. I do not like it AT ALL. I swored i'd only ever go to Disney in the winter but then DH became a teacher last year and so our only options are Summer (heck no!), Xmas break (heck no - the crowds!), February vacation (President's Day week so again with the crowds), and so that leaves April vacation.

Sorry it's not likely to be cooler! We've gone the past several APrils and it's always been in the 80s or 90s when we are there.

I'm just hoping for little to no rain. Last year when my sister and I were there at the end of March/beginning of April we had two days of nonstop rain. It got pretty depressing after a while.

SINGLE DIGITS TODAY!

Holy crap, guys! It's my last day of work before our trip! I took tomorrow off to clean the house before we left. Now DH is going to be home, but I told him I'm still cleaning it tomorrow and it better be spotless when I get back, too. (hahahahahah, right.)

Picked up a few things for the trip last night, but I still need to get suction cup hooks for the Easter egg lights I bought for our window. I need to bring home my little Toy Story lego sets that are on my shelf at work - I'm going to take those for our room, I think. I'm also considering bringing the 5x7 of DD and I with Mickey and Minnie that is on my desk and having them autograph it.

I also want to re-run our touring plans plans to set it up for minimal walking - I want a plan, but I really don't want to criss-cross the parks a lot given the weather reports for early next week.

I'm probably forgetting something to pack. I picked up hand sanitizer and sunglasses last night, I have new books for my Kindle for lounging at the pool...

And I told DH last night that I'm vaguely nervous about being the only adult on this trip, even if the girls are 17 and almost 16. He says we'll be fine and if there's an emergency, Disney will take care of us, and logically I know that but this is a huge long trip and I was expecting backup!

(On the other hand, Spirit Airlines was great about DH not going - they gave him the credit for his flight and switched his checked bags to DD (we were only going to check two suitcases, but one was in his name) so that's all set.) It was nice to have one less thing to worry about.)

I have a few things to finish up here at work today and then DD has an eye doctor appointment at a "glasses in about an hour" place to try to get prescription sunglasses before Saturday. Her insurance didn't roll over until yesterday. Talk about doing something at the last minute!

Yeah, the panic is definitely starting to set in!

Sounds like you have it all under control! I'd be nervous too if it was just me. Heck I was a nervous wreck flying alone last year to meet my family down there.
Have a GREAT trip!!
Can't wait for the warm weather!

So excited for you - and we're not that far behind either!!! :thumbsup2

I was also taking another look at our touring plans yesterday once I saw what the temps have been like to see if I needed to adjust anything. Turns out that my original plans had already included a lot of sit-down activity or indoor type of attractions for the afternoons so looks like we should be okay. Well, everyone else will be okay at least . I'm doing all the FP runs so I'll be a little warmer. :lmao: The only thing I added was a Dole Whip break mid-late afternoon at MK! ;)

oh yeah, I don't want rain either! Well, if I'm walking around dying in 90 degree heat, I'll just look on the bright side - at least it's not raining.

I can't wait for the next 2 weeks to fly by and then it will be time to pack! I just wish it was here already. We are going with a group of 8. Ranging in age from 63 - 18 months. Any tips for us?
