So, DH is not going to be able to go to Florida after all. I'm super disappointed, but he's not hte Disney nut in the house, I am, you know?
So I called Disney this morning to take him off, and I also asked about dropping the deluxe dining upgrade, since that was more for him and I, and now he wasn't going to be there. That was no problem, and I ended up with a sizable credit, half of which was going to go onto Disney gift cards (because that's how I paid). But then she started saying it might take two weeks to credit them back to the cards, and I was like "I'll be HOME by then, and the cards will be useless!" And I got upset, because I'm already upset that DH can't go, etc.
So after escalating me twice, I finally got to a nice woman in accounting who said that they would process my visa return today so the odds of it going through quickly were better, and that "gift cards take 2-3 days."
I know they need to give people worse-case-scenarios but when I was upset, all it would have taken is someone to say "That's worse case, they will probably refund much faster than that, but I can't guarantee it." The third woman on the phone was really nice and I apologized for crying and losing my temper and she was so sweet, and told me if I had any problems once I got there because my refunds hadn't processed, to call guest relations and explain to them what was going on and they'd take care of me.
So I juggled our reservations around - I was able to get me in to lunch with the girls at Teppan Edo, and I managed to move their breakfast at 1900 Park Fare to the next day so I could go with them to that, and I cancelled a bunch of other things, and we're still 3 meals over our seven credits, but if the refunds come through in time I'll be able to pay cash for the cheaper meals and we can still go to them.
My biggest thing right now? This will be the longest DH and I have been apart from each other since we started seriously dating in 2004.
