OFFICIAL April 2012 DISers! 2 months and counting!

I'm so excited for those of you going SO SOON!!!!!! I don't go til the end of April so i sure hope to hear LOTS or reports on how things are while you are there :)

I was actually kinda disappointed in the luggage tags. For our 2010 trip we got these hard plastic Cinderella castle ones, and these are so flimsy! And ours aren't red, either, they are teal borders with holograms with Mickey, Minnie and Goofy.

So, if you have to remove someone from your vacation package inside the 45 days, is it just the $50 change fee you're losing? DH might get a job offer in the next couple of days, and if it's good enough, and they want him for a 4/1 start date, there's no way he can turn it down.

His airfare we're going to have to eat, since it's non-refundable, but what will Disney do if I call them 5 or 6 days out and have to take DH off our trip?

(This will make me sad, but the job situation will be good in the long run.)

I have not had to do this, however I think you would have to pay the change fee, then be refunded the remaining for that person. So sorry he may not be able to go, but SO HAPPY he may get a job.

Thank you! He's been contracting for most of his career (with the same company) but that job has been drying up. He's been working for another company additionally, but only part time. It's possible that employer will offer him a full-time, salaried position in the next few days. If the offer is good enough, and they want him 4/1 (there's a lot of stuff going on the first week of April, and while they know he has a vacation planned, they might need him anyway) then he's going to take it. If it's not a full time, salaried, benefits position he'll push more for the 4/10 start date.

So it's definitely a case of if they offer is good enough, Disney will have to go on without him. Our future is more important than Disney, even though I will be disappointed if he can't go.

Here's a youtube tutorial on how to attach Disney luggage tags. The first time I got these tags last year, I must have stared at them for a loooooong time before I figured it out. They really should come with instructions! :lmao:

The strips come attached to the luggage tags as shown here.

Hope this helps!

That video made me chuckle! Thanks for the laugh.

Can you not ask for a roll away bed or a cot for the room? We have gotten them in the past at Beach Club, Wilderness and Kidani...not sure if that is an option for you.

I don't know why I didn't say this too!! We got a rollaway bed for the boys at the BC 2 yrs. ago. :thumbsup2

Well I'm pretty sure I'm not going to get any of these cool luggage tags. Since I leave in 8 days!

Like I said - it's probably because I did a DVC points rental and pieced my vacation together instead of a MYW package.

Oh well - at least the yellow ME luggage stickers have a mickey head on them!

Happy to hear he may get a new job!! That's sad if he won't be able to go, but like you said your future is way more important. Disney will be there next year!!:thumbsup2

I didn't get any luggage name tags - just the yellow luggage magical express tags.

Probably because I didn't book through a Magic Your Way Package - I rented DVC points.

Congrats! :thumbsup2

You're right...you only get the "cool" luggage tages if you book a MYW package.

But look on the bright side...You will be in DISNEY is 8 days!!! :woohoo:

22 days to go for me too!!:cool1:

Will be heading out to the stores later today to look for some new shoes and sandals so that I can start breaking them in before we get to Disney

We're down to 30 days!! Can't wait! On the downside there is a chance my wife won't be able to come with us which would be terrible. We'll get a better idea maybe later today - I'm sitting on pins and needles here! :sad1:

How much would they charge us for a rollaway? That would solve our problem! DS 11 is small, 60lbs, so he would be comfortable on one of those and DS13 could get the sofa bed to himself! Thanks everyone:thumbsup2

Got our official Mickey mail yesterday !! I love the luggage tags. Mickey is my favorite character and so they are perfect.

12 days of magic in just 12 days !!
Cant wait !! :cool1:

A co-worker was asking me questions today about going on their first trip to WDW. It got me all excited!! I hope I didn't overwhelm her! Ha. She is just planning now and wants to go Spring Break week!! Thanks to all of you I had lots of tips for her!!

But now it's gotten me all pumped about my trip!! Not that I needed help, but just thinking about it gets the mind wandering!!! :yay:

I had to laugh about this. I'm pretty sure I do the same thing!:rotfl: It's just so hard to curb your enthusiasm when you have a captive audience!:rotfl2: Thank goodness for the Dis!

I Registered just so I could let y'all know that my family will be in WDW 22-29 April. Me, DW, DS, DM and DF. (OK, I haven't found the dictionary to see if those last 2 are valid; it's the first big trip they're taking with their grandson) We'll all be staying at CBR.
I'm having a hard time containing myself, and the countdown on my Nexus still says 32 more days!?!?! :hyper: Gaah!
Cool.. found some of the tickers :cool2:
But I can't add it yet??

Gotta get that post count up, I guess.
Oh.. THERE's the Show Sig option, down there

Welcome!

I am 10 days away too! Not planning on doing online check -in though. Can either of you tell me if the online check in allowed you to make requests?

So excited it is getting close!

I've read here that even once you get there after doing online check-in you can change rooms if it's not what you wanted and it's available for you. It sort of defeats the purpose of online check-in since it takes a bit of time, but worth it if you get what you want.

Getting SO excited! We get there April 23rd and stay until May 1st. Staying at CBR in one of the pirate rooms!!!

(I love coming on here because no one in my day to day life understands Disney love! You guys all make me feel so NORMAL! :rotfl2:)

:rotfl2: Yes, NORMAL is in the eye of the beholder and on the Dis we are all normal...in a crazy Disney sort of way!;) (wouldn't have it any other way!)

Is there an option to pick the type of bed you want when you do the online check-in? We would like a king instead of two doubles.
.

They never guarantee King beds unless there's an option to pay for it. If they have it available when you check in and you request it, you will get it. Good luck!

Oh, I would so hate that, but as you say, it's so worth it for a permanent full time job. Hopefully he can get the job as well as the vacation! Good luck.:goodvibes

Our oldest son just accepted a new job and will be leaving for Ft Myers area at the beginning of May. Is it wrong that the first question I asked him was: How far will you be from Disney???? He went with us last September to Disney and loves it, so I'm thinking he'll be traveling that way more than a little bit. We'll just have to plan lots of trips to visit him....and the mouse!

I love everyone's excitement about leaving soon for their trip. I hope you all come back and gives a mini trip report. Also, everyone have a magical trippixiedust: and a safe one!:thumbsup2

They are pretty flimsy, arent' they?! They were like that last year, too, only flimsy Cinderella catle ones. I still have the ones from my 2010 trip, too!

Me too!!!!!:banana: 22 days left . OMG I still have so much to do!!!!:scared1:

My DS14 is going on his confirmation retreat this weekend so I've been getting ready for that.

22 days to go for me too!!:cool1:

woo hoo ~ 22 more days here too! We actually leave in 21, but will stop on the way down, so WDW in 22!

I don't think they charged us anything, but I could be wrong. I would just call and then ask them to add it to your reservation. :thumbsup2

At my DD softball meeting last night they handed out the luggage tags to the girls - they are all pretty excited!

Must say i'm slightly jelous of her getting one as I'm not staying on property this trip so I don't have one - but in 37 days when I go back I'll them for that trip!
