OFFICIAL April 2012 DISers! 2 months and counting!

I have been stalking the disney dining page for the past week with no good results. After making reservations months ago DH and I want to try Ohana one evening we are there, nothing opened of course. Keep logging in to see if someone cancelled but not yet. Hoping some disney magic comes our way and the two of us can go eat there on any day from the 23-26. If anyone wants to trade their Ohana reservation for a California Grill reservation, let me know! Also if we end up having a little magic I will let everyone know that we are planning on cancelling California Grill.

It is looking more and more like we will be cancelling. I'm holding out until 4/9 to cancel (our reservation starts the 16th). Our dog is getting slower and slower and sleeping more and more but I'm not sure she will be dead (that sounds terrible to say, doesn't it?) by our trip. Dh and I had agreed after we left her the last time that we wouldn't take an extended trip again until she died. I guess I'll move our reservation up a year and we'll go for our 36th anniversary instead if I cancel. I'll let you all know what dining reservations will be opening up between the 16th and 27th if I cancel.

So sorry. I hope your puppy will find peace. My heart breaks for you. :sad2:

Stevie - we are BOUND to bump into one another FOR SURE then. We have time scheduled every day to head back to the Poly pool too. :thumbsup2

I have taken the suitcases out, but haven't really started packing yet. Wish I had a guest room to put the suitcases on the bed for that reason alone! I am going to have to sit down and start writing my full packing list and start figuring out what (if anything) I need to buy.

Guess what, guess what, guess what, guess what!?!?!?!?!!??!

OUR MICKEY MAIL CAME TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:banana: :yay::cheer2:

Charity ~ yes, it will be me, DH, and my 3 girls (6, 3, just turned 1).

I am getting more and more excited, too. I have some friends going at the end of this week, so it has been fun having some to talk Disney with! I've been packing for awhile, but I have started putting outfits for the girls together in ziploc bags. I have my list of things I need to buy as well!! It hit me yesterday just exactly how hot it is going to be. I was looking forward to packing less than I normally do; since we've always gone in January I've had to pack everything from coats and jeans to shorts. But I'm thinking I"ll probably need to pack several extra clothes b/c some days I imagine we'll go through 2 outfits a day. We plan on coming back to the resort several days, if not every, for an afternoon swim; I don't think we'll want to put back on our sweaty clothes we wore for the first part of the day. Although I'm sure I'll plan at least one laundry day while I'm there!

I think I will be there the same time as you all too.. April 17th thru the 24th. We are planning on spending at least 3 days at the pool. My 6 year old is super excited to be going back!!

I am so sorry to hear your dog is doing poorly again. I hope that she finds peace soon. :grouphug:

I can never be satisfied! DH is laughing at me. I'm considering swapping out our Captain's Grill reservation for Artist Point - we have DxDP credits available, and I was never 100% sold on Captain's Grill. Plus, the friend we're taking is pescatarian and it'd be nice to take her somewhere where she has more than one option for fish.

There's an ADR available, we're going to be in Epcot most of that day so we'd just have to hop a bus ... I'm nervous about pulling the trigger and doing it, though. :P

Edit: I did it. One more signature! (So now we're doing Jiko (new), Brown Derby (have done it before), Yachtsman (have done it before) and Artist Point (new) as well as doing the Spirit of Aloha show.)

I think we already discussed it, but we'll be at Le Cellier around the same time - DH and I have a 1:30 lunch adr on Sunday :)

23 days! I am sitting here downloading movies into DD's Kindle Fire and printing all our confirmations - sorry gotta go the suitcase is calling me ;)

Is there an option to pick the type of bed you want when you do the online check-in? We would like a king instead of two doubles.

Also, not even sure I would be able to do the online check-in even if I wanted to. Since I booked, my reservation hasn't been showing up properly.

I booked at 67 days out, and it STILL says I am 67 days away (even though underneath it says I am going April 16-23), and that I only have two meal reservations. When I click on the link to show me my reservations, it goes to all 7 of them (which is right) but then it says I have no rooms booked, which isn't right at all. So not sure online check-in will work, unless it magically fixes itself at the 10 day mark.

Oh yeah - I remember that. I think back during our original discussion our ADR was at 2:15.

Now I was able to get it moved up to 1:15p. So I'm hoping we'll be there feeding our faces when you guys arrive!

Say Hi if you see us - we'll have 3 adults and 2 girls under age 4. Me, my DW, and my SIL and my two daughters.

Disney's website is sort of glitchy like that. I just disregard the countdown date and the little reservation count section that appears on the upper left screen when I first pull up disneyworld.com because it usually reflects the numbers when I last logged in and is not an accurate present count. I click on the "My Reservations" tab and it asks me to log-in at that point. Once I get through that, everything is usually accurate although every now and then one or two ressies (including the room) can be missing. If anything is missing, you can click on "Retrieve Reservation" link on the upper right hand side, type in your res #, and it will find the missing reservation.

I'm pretty sure you won't have any problem doing on-line check in on your 10 day mark. You usually get an email as well with a link to the online check in page.

Sometimes it asks me to log in, and even when I do, my room is still not there. But I do have the email confirmations, so I will just make sure I have those printed for when we go, so that we don't have any problems.

Quick edit: I fixed it!!! I did the "find reservation" thing you mentioned, and it brought it all up to date. Thanks for the tip! :)

After you log in, have you tried the "Retrieve Reservations" link?

Having printouts is always helpful - I usually print all of them out at home before heading to Disney, including the ADRs just in case.

pwdebbie, I am so sorry that your dog is not doing well.

Doing well with my packing so far! I like to keep it light, and do wash a few times during the trip. One question though, I asked a while back but it got lost in the shuffle....does anyone have a good recommendation for a Twin sized Aero bed??? I am thinking we may need to bring one in case both boys do not fit on the pull out sofa in the studio comfortably. Have heard bad stories of those sofas and now we are regretting booking a studio waaaaaay back in Sept! Nothing we can do now, except make a back-up plan. Thanks!

10 days! So exciting! I am off to check in!:goodvibes

I'm not sure about the aero bed, sorry! Where are you staying? Could you look and/or ask in that resort thread?

This thread has been busy since I last logged on ~ I love it! We are all getting so close...can't believe some have less than 10 days!

I'm so sorry to the poster whose dog is not doing well.

And (loganpaulsmom?) ~ looks like our trips will overlap! I also have a 6 year old, she is looking forward to the volcano slide! Sorry that you are worried over your dining ressies that are closer to BC, but I'm sure it will all work out!

I don't know about an "Aero" bed but we use air matresses at my house for the boys when they have sleepovers. I just get the cheapest one at Target- I think it was $13. They are all pretty much the same comfort wise. and I think they fold pretty flat. Will you have a car? Maybe you could pick one up while there?

We are staying at AKL ( AKV Jambo house) in a studio. We are flying and not renting a car either. I was asking about Aero beds because I thought they might be better quality and more comfortable and end up lasting us longer to be able to take with us to the Cape over the summer too????? I see the cheaper ones at some stores but wasn't sure about them. Thanks!
