OFFICIAL April 2012 DISers! 2 months and counting!

you know its getting closer, when everything I make for dinner just is not doing it for me! I just want that Disney food that I do not have to cook :cloud9:

When we woke up this morning, we found my cat dead on the couch - we are guessing a heart attack. :sad1: - she has not been sick and she wasn't really that old (8 years)
So it was a hard morning, but then I decided to work on the girls pressed pennies containers - so I printed them and glued them onto the mento's containers.....That gave me a few minutes of happiness. Then the sadness came right back, so I worked on another shirt.....

I guess it's a good thing I have PLENTY of Disney stuff to work on to get me through. I don't know how I would be doing if I didn't have my nephews & Disney to refocus on.

Anyways, we are heading to my brother & SIL's next weekend for a surprise baby shower, I am very excited - these babies have been a long time coming, so we are all so excited.

65 days

Oh no .. that's so sad. :sad1: Poor kitty ... it doesn't seem like she suffered though .. but I know that doesn't make it any easier for you and your family.

Glad you have things to keep you busy and to get your mind off of it. :goodvibes

I am so sorry!!! I know how hard that must have been...I remember waking up one morning and finding my cat under my dining room table. We think he got out and someone poisoned him. Sending hugs your way!!!!

I'm so sorry! That's so terrible! In our house there are more animals than people!! So I can't even imagine!!

Wait...that does not make me sound like a normal person. I swear I'm not an animal hoarder.... :)

:hug:awe, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss - you and your family are in my thoughts. it's aweful to lose a pet :sad1:

Thanks everyone. Disney planning made it easy while I was home yesterday. And Kathy, HAHAHAHA - Too funny.

Going to bed last night was hard, she slept with me every night and woke me up every morning. I am having a little bit of a hard time this morning with her not begging for food, but I know in a few days it will get easier. I feel kinda stupid for being so upset...But I loved my kitty.

I cried for days when my cat died. My DH is not an emotional guy, but we sat in mournful silence for a few days, occasionally tearing up when Caesar would come up in conversation. It was really hard - never sure if you should reach out to the person because you don't want to rip the scab off their emotional wound, etc. After going through that, I can't imagine what it's like to lose a kid, for pete's sake.

Have you read the rainbow bridge poem? It was a constant source of comfort for me during my grieving period. Google it... it really is sweet. I won't post it here because it's a little tear-jerky, but in a good way.

In the end, what got me through it was knowing that we gave him the best life we could while he was with us, and that the fact that we mourned him like he was an actual person was the best tribute we could have given him. He just meant that much to us.

You aren't stupid for being upset. She had a special place in your heart and was part of your daily life. It will feel strange for a while. It's okay to miss your kitty!

My heart goes out to you... my kitty slept on top of my hip every night while I slept on my side... for 9 years! When she passed, I pretty much had to find a new way to sleep since I missed her so! It gets easier, but you never forget!

My wife and I honeymooned in Disney in 2010, went back in February of 2011 (too cold!), and have a trip planned in April 2012 14-21st for our second anniversary. Probably our last trip for a while since we are planning to get pregnant this year! We are both 26 years old and not foodies and never drink (although we may have a glass of wine just because it's vacation). We are staying offsite at Bonnet Creek (although it's basically on site!)

To do something different we will also be visiting seaworld and universal for a day (never been to either!). Suggestions on where to eat at those parks would be nice. Here is our vacation schedule.

Saturday (arrival day)- O'hana at 8:00 PM for dinner in the Polynesian

Sunday- Seaworld all day (no ADRs yet)

Monday- Breakfast at BOMA 10 AM in the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Magic Kingdom Park Day after.

Tuesday- Anniversary Dinner at 8 PM at Bistro de Paris in Epcot. Epcot park day

Wednesday- Garden View Tea Room Grand Floridian at 2 PM. Hollywood Studios Afternoon+ Fantastmic. No ADRs

Thursday- Relax, visit downtown disney. No ADRs planned yet.

Friday- Universal Studios All Day. No ADRs planned yet.

Saturday- Be at MCO by 1 PM to go back to long island.

What would you change or add? What do you think of Bistro for an anniversary dinner? Would LOVE your input on our food choices and vacation schedule!

What about doing dinner at California Grill on Thursday? Since you don't have any parks planned for that day it would be a good time to try out a resort restaurant. And you could watch the fireworks from MK. Very romantic for an anniversary trip :goodvibes

Whenever the Disney reservation website goes down for maintenance I get all paranoid that all of my ressies will accidently get wiped out in the process

Could someone suggest 1 place to maybe make a reservation (if its not to late). I have convinced my husband to go for one non counter service meal in parks. The kids range from 5-14 so something that would be fun for all.

Oh, I am SO sorry :( We've lost two kitties in the last six years (one was just a month or so before our Disney trip in 2010, too) and it's always so tough. Hang in there.

People seem to like Ohana and 50s Primetime Cafe (DHS) for a family experience. Are your kids into characters still?

Yes...I think even the 12 yr old and 2 -14 yr olds might get a kick out of it....they have been talking since we told them on the weekend....I didnt think the older ones would care about characters...it got me thinking.
