OFFICIAL April 2012 DISers! 2 months and counting!

Back from the CBR today! :sad1: Had a great time, will post more details later. I was so worried about the weather most of the time b/c the stupid forecast was for 100% chance of rain, but it was fine. Just a couple of short showers and that was it.

We did:

1- MK then pool
2 - HS - eat a Sci-Fi theater
3 - Epcot - eat at Coral Reef
4 - Islands of Adventure
5 - MK

I have to say, except for day 1 when we got to MK at around 1:00 p.m., the rest of the time we walked on just about every single ride, save for a couple . IoA was unbelieveable, we just went on rides over and over and over without ever having to wait even 1 second in line.

DS just went to bed crying that he doesn't want to be home, he wants to go back. :sad2: I think it's just b/c he's overtired (I hope).
I'll post more later, gotta hit the sack.

AK was abulous today!! We didn't quite make it fr EMH, but we were there right at 9. Walked right on EE and then hit Dino. We figured get them out of the way, so we could wander around as needed. This was our first trip To AK, and I have to say I was impressed!! The safari was really great and I can see how you could do that more than once!! We had to stop on the road because Rhino's were crossing. Very cool that the animals roam that way!

Then in the evening we had dessert party tickets!! I was so excited, we had the middle table right up front!! DBF had to tell me to contain my excitement. We never had to move from our table. Fabulous.

We are exhausted, so tomorrow will be a later start. Eating dinner in the castle tomorrow!! princess:

Good morning Disney friends. Tons to get done before we leave Friday morning, but I am not going to let it stress me out. So excited about our trip. I hope that everyone that is there now is having a GREAT time. We will be there soon.

I am right behind you leaving Saturday:goodvibes My girls still have no clue we are going. They just think we are getting up early so we can go to the outlet mall to go shopping.

Welcome back everyone who has returned. I am glad you all had an amazing time:)

Oh WOW - Are you going to tell them, or just wait till you get there and they see the sign? How cool.

We are going to wake them up and tell them. I am worried because my daughter is not a morning person and the effect may be lost when she is whining to go back to sleep. I have to get them up at 5am to make a 7am flight:eek: Needless to say I wont be video tapping this Disney surprise and putting it on Youtube.

OMG I cannot wait to get the details on how the surprise goes! I told April when I booked the trip. I am an awful secret keeper! 4 more days!

Hi and I am right behind you both leaving on Sunday Am.. I hope your suprise goes well ! (do you think it might go better :confused3 if you tell them the night before - so they surprise is assured to go better then waking your DD's up early? )

okay...I'm going to do a quick brain dump here about my trip ~ I know I won't get around to doing an entire trip report.

Check-in at the Poly went great ~ got the building we requested, Tokelau. We were on the corner, first floor. Our patio view was amazing ~ water view, towards GF (we could see the construction, but that's okay, we also had a view of the water/beach). This was the first time that I ever consulted easywdw/touringplans for a trip. I found it a bit off ~ the first day (Sunday) we went to MK, it was the least recommended park to go to, and it really wasn't bad crowded at all. It was much more crowded at MK when we went on the day it was recommended. Also, AK was much more crowded than I expected, and it was a recommneded day. But all in all, the wait times weren't bad. Utilized fastpasses and probably waited 20 minutes at the most and usually much less.

Highlight of the trip ~ my 3 year old was just in awe, loved watching her! And my 6 year old was actually tall enough for the 44 inch rides! EE is her new favorite ride. I even rode it with her once, oh my ~ I don't know how I used to ride stuff like that all the time.

The rain really messed up our AK day. I hate that we didn't see Pocahontas. We were right next to the train to Rafiki's and I asked if she was there and a cast member said no, she was at Camp Minnie Mickey (I know I read she was at Camp MM, but the past 3 times we have seen her at Rafiki's even though the paper said camp mm). So we skipped Rafiki's b/c we had a lot we wanted to do and knew the rain was coming. When we started to camp mm I asked a cast member along the way, b/c it was raining and I didn't want to walk all the way down there if she wasn't there, and that cast member said she was at Rafiki's!! ugh!!! very aggravating (for those who saw her, where did you see her)? Also bummed that we missed the parade due to weather.

MK was great ~ we managed to be the 5th or 6th people in line to see Rapunzel on Friday, so that was great. That morning, I took my DD6 and DD3 to MK while DH stayed at the Poly with DD1 to nap. We used the morning to see all the characters we had missed who were must do; it was a lot of fun!! Funny story ~ we get there, book it to Rapunzel, DD3 is whining and I look down and she had lost her flip flop in the mob of rope drop! Luckily someone had found it. We also missed the parade at MK b/c of weather, but all in all we saw everything we wanted (except Tom Sawyer ~ weather).

DHS and Epcot were great. Pretty sure we did everything we wanted at DHS. I wish we would have spent more time in WS at Epcot, but it was really hot the day we were there so we took an afternoon break.

Hope everyone had great trips!

You did AutoTrain down, right? What did you think of it?

We did do the AutoTrain down to Florida. We did it last year with family sleepers North and South, and this year Coach South (we ended up driving home).

I liked Coach better, I felt like all the families in coach were in the same situation. Everyone was respectful to each other. It was easier to entertain the kids. When we were in the family sleepers, we had older couples in the single rooms, and they just sat and read books... I felt an obligation to keep our kids silent the whole trip... which is near impossible.

Sleeping in coach was not too bad once you got settled in.

I missed the first class meals, water, and snacks that you had when you were in a sleeper room... but the coach meals were fine.

We only drove back so we could extend our stay!!

We were in the same line for Rapunzel at rope drop on Friday! In fact, you were probably only a couple of families ahead of us as I counted about 9 families ahead of us. I had to run from CRT after breakfast with my DD and DS down mainstreet once I heard the countdown from the RD show while DW and DFIL went to ride Space Mountain. You may have seen us - DS was on the verge of throwing a fit after waiting in line for awhile and I managed to distract him by asking him to see if he could find Pascal hiding somewhere.

We were at AK on Thursday and saw Pocahontas at Camp MM. We were at Rafiki's during the rain and she was not there. I'm pretty sure she only meets at Camp MM and she no longer meets at Rafiki's.

I am still debating on that. That may be the better idea:)

We saw Pocahontas at Camp MM just after the 4:30 Lion King Show on Saturday. There was a pretty big line for her though, so we didn't wait.

LOL!!! I was in a purple dress and had 2 little girls with me, they were in purple skirts and a Rapunzel shirt. If photobucket didn't hate me, I would upload a picture (long story, but something is wrong with my settings and Ican't get it to work). I'm sure I passed you because I had to walk out of the line with my 3 year old in tow to look for her flip flop. My oldest stayed in line for us; I felt bad leaving her, although I was gone maybe 2 minutes. but I knew I would have had 2 meltdowns if we all left.

I'm glad Pocahontas was at Camp MM, I would have been really upset if she was at Rafiki's and we didnt' go! By the time we got to MM, it was really raining hard and the CM told us if she wouldn't be out. What time did you go to Tusker House? We had breakfast there that morning ~ it was really good!!

Charity, I miss Disney, too!!!!!

I do remember two girls taking a picture with Rapunzel wearing Rapunzel shirts!

We had a 8:00am breakfast at Tusker House. The food we liked a lot. The ham with the horseradish sauce was very good!

So glad you came back and reported - Can you tell me how you made your decisions about what park what day - you said you looked at both easywdw and touringplans, but how did you decided. Did you park hop? And is that how you know they were wrong. Do I need to change up my plans????

Sorry to be mia for so long the Internet seems really spotty at por! What's weird is I can reply to posts easily on my iPod touch but on my nook tablet I can't! The reply button doesn't show up! I hate typing on the touch but it'll do! So far we've done everything we've wanted Epcot twice hitting all the rides there, mk with dessert party (which was really nice), studios today riding everything there (TSM and TOT twice each!) and tomorrow is DTD and dinner at garden grove. The crowds aren't too bad but I definately think touring plans is a bit off on this week's crowds- it feels more crowded than their estimates. Back to MK on thursday and home on Friday! BUT while i've been here I've been texting dd and we booked a long weekend in June!!!!! Now it won't be TOO bad going home!!!! LOL!! Heading out to dinner in a few - somewhere in DTD. safe travels to those leaving soon! We're having perfect weather!

So do you think the touringplan is wrong and I should re plan my parks or are they just off?
