*OFFICIAL* AP Watch thread for Jan/Feb UPDATE: THERE OUT 1/1 THRU 2/11

CM said she spoke with someone who uses that new system (was on hold maybe a minute) and said that there definetly no AP or FL rates out and if someone got one they must not have booked through Disney.
That rate must have been a some fluke...she did say the new system was just up and running, my guess is they are about to launch it for AP's or a new code of some sort and someone just lucked out before it was locked out. Although maybe its a glimmer of hope that they are getting ready to be released.
 
Different CSM They were nice, but said that the SBC computer system doesn't have an affiliation link, and that she spoke with her manager, who said no rates were out or even pending. She then asked for my "friends" reservation # so she could check. I then told her that my "friend" was from a web site. She also told me that 4 other people had called this morning, and must have had the same friend.

Oh well, I tried.
 
Based on yesterday's post, I spent nearly an hour on hold last night hoping for an AP rate. No such luck - CM was very nice and "absolutely, positively" guaranteed that there were no ap rates released. But, like so many other board member experiences calling CMs, he indicated they would be coming out soon and to keep trying.

Arrrgh!!! Pixie dust, pixie dust, shower over me. :jester:
 
I just got my AP rate for Wilderness Lodge 1/10-1/18. I got $156.10 including tax for CY view. My best friend called and was told they aren't out yet. My CM really knew what he was doing and didn't act like there was any problem at all. I just said I wanted to book a room and that we were AP holders. He seemed to have no problem at all. I had called about 20 minutes before reaching him and I was told that the system was down and they couldn't book rooms at all. When I called back he said he was having some luck but they were very slow. Very nice guy. Just wanted to let you all know that they are giving them out today still.

There were no standard rooms available on any of the dates I tried. Either those haven't been released or they won't be. I don't think they all could have been taken by now but who knows.

Edited to add: I made them at about 7:30am EST this morning.

Also edited to add: I didn't have a room on hold, I made a new reservation. I don't know if that is making a difference at all.
 

AAGH! I want to know what number all of these lucky people are calling and what you're bribing these wonderful CM's with!!! It's gotta be this week!
 
Just called at 9:05 CM said that no rates were out yet. I asked how other people were getting these rates and she said that no one had gotton any rates and that they must have gotton a post card. I said that these were AP rates and she told me to call back with their number and that she would guarantee that they did not get AP rates. She seemed very nice at first until I told her that other people had gotton the rates.

When are they going to come out?????

DITTO...just called and the same thing was said to me, that no ap code has been released for 2004 at all.

I used no code and wasn't told a code, I just said I was an Annual Passholder when he asked me when the last time we visited was. I said we had visited in May because we go often because we are AP holders. He was very very nice and acted like it was no problem to search for the rates so I'm really confused. My friend was told they are still adding rates so if that is the case, then it would make sense that I couldn't get anything but a CY view. Perhaps the standard/woods haven't been added in yet? I really don't know.

The CM didn't even act like he had a hard time finding them so I'm puzzled. He just pulled them up and I figured they were already out. Also, he was located in Florida and I don't know if that makes a difference.
 
I called too and got a very nice cm who checked both ways , new res. and prexisting and nothing... I told her what was going on and the only explaination she could think of was maybe the rates being quoted are the normal rates. she said when they go to the affiliation screen they highlight "ap rates" and if no ap rates are available a price will come up but it is the normal price. she said if it is a newer Cm they may not realize that is the regular rate. I told her about the bpi code from last night she said she didn't even rembemer a code like that but siad the only way to ge t ap rates is by putting the ap code in and they do not exist yet...she did say if someone who got the rates wanted to call in they could figure out (maybe) why they got it but nothing yet...and personally for those fortunate few, I'd take it and run:) ! except maybe make sure it is a better rate. no Fl rates either yet she said and said no package rates of any kind coming up when she tired it that way.

the only other thing i wonder since all those codes are on the same screen evidently I wonder if some cms have put in the visa rate by mistake since when I booked Vero that is what the cm did (by mistake )and the rate came up (and was actually better than the ap rate). if they only have to highlight something it seems it would be easy to do the wrong thing and the Cm I got for Vero could not figure out why the second res. I was making for there was not getting the same rate ( what she thought was the ap rate) so maybe it does not say what *kind* of rate they get, just the price. she finally had to call me back and have a supervisor look at it to figure it out so it must not be that obvious

she also said this is a new system so maybe all do not have the same installed yet??she knew exactly what i was talking about when I mentioned the affiliation screen..weird but at least she was nice and I think really did try to get me the rates!

also she warned me (ot but we can all use a emotional break rather than a breakdown lol!) that there is a website called "disney Deal " or something similar that is quoting fake prices for tickets she said they are ??? for a 4 day and disneys are 204 but the deal ones are somehow bogus..she said they keep getting irrate calls about them from people who think it is disney.com
 
Ditto, I just made reservation for AKL and the CM wouldn't even check. I did get AAA which made it a little easier to swallow. She said concierge was all that was left for Presidents weekend so that might explain the delay. I still can't figure out why they didn't offer them for Sept.:confused:

This computer glitch thing seems to happen often, and always for the room I am trying to book as well.

**just poking in to add my .02 to this**

It "sounds" like to me with the reservation computer system that they have, that there are certain learning curves, and even glitches. I work IT software phone support, and believe me, you think that you have tested EVERY eventuality, when BAM something sneaks up that you never in a million years thought of.

It sounds like last night may have been a tough night systems wise for WDWTC and CRO. They may have been beta testing the codes, and some slipped to the live system. Not a great thing to happen, but remember, it is fallable humans who input the info into these 'all knowing' computers.

Anyway--I know all about the uproar at the end of the summer, where there were NO AP rates for September, but they did eventually come out for Oct-Dec. And as far as I have read, no one who wanted one for Oct-Dec got shut out.

My theory is: there may or may NOT be AP rates coming. If they're not coming, we are getting all wound up for no good reason. If they are coming, sit, relax, breathe, you will more than likely get one.

Like I said, and as always, simply my VERY humble opinion.

PS--I am MORE than ready for my trip. It is a balmy and tropical 19 degrees here in MASS this morning!!!!

Well, I can definitely say I didn't get the normal rate as I received CY for $156 with tax. A standard rack rate room at WL is more than that.
 
No luck at 9:45 or so. Since I was shoved onto Customer Service almost immediately, I suspected that the CM I spoke to had already fielded a lot of AP calls this morning. Neither of them was particularly pleasant or helpful. I happened to use the same serries of button pushes that MosMom did, but no luck.
 
My husband just booked AP rates for January 4-11 2004 at the YC. He said that the screen the cms see doesn't show the rates like it usually does, but if the cm requests an AP rate it will come up. Good luck!
 
Ugh, all of those manager types saying "you shouldnt know about that" makes me worry that the nice CM who helped me will get in trouble for giving the info :(


I hope that for everyone's sake (Our wallets, and the sanity of the reservations cm's!) that they get this straightened out soon!

Is this not the right number to be calling for AP rates? Is there an 800 number some of you know about?
 
They are still saying no.....frustrating that some can locate it and others cannot......
