Mariah songs?

Well, we better not hear any of the judges give the automatic "You shouldn't sing Mariah (Whitney/Celine) songs because they are too big for you or because you will always be compared to the original artist"

I know! I mean they even did it last night when Syesah sang the whity song and Randy said he had a hard time hearing any one else singing it. I don't know why they would pick a theme like that when inevitably they are going to be compared to her and deemed not as good although hearing the guys sing Mariah songs might be interesting.

I honestly can't even name a Mariah song. I am just not familiar with her music at all - at least nothing that I would realize is her. I'm not even sure I could identify her voice.

Guess I'll count that week as a "class" on Mariah .

Go back and look at the youtube link I posted a few posts ago. If will give you a good idea. She has a great powerful voice when she really sings. Plus she has a smokin hot bod

Yep. The ad on top of my page is for adding glitter to your profile and she made the movie "Glitter." There's too much of a Mariah overload for me!

So are they usually right? Have they predicted who will go home every week?

Those are two separate questions. They have been correct all year, and typically are correct. However, note that they aren't predicting who will go home, not even this week. Rather, they're designating a set of singers who will not go home this week, and another set of singers from whom the bottom three will be.

My BF is a BIG Jordan Knight fan..(Yes, we are officially the CORNIEST Black people ALIVE)... man I'm sick of his songs. He came into town a few years ago and I REFUSED to go (it was at a small place) and he called me to listen to him on his phone!! I had almost the whole concert on my voicemail!!

I should do that to HIM with Michael Johns!!!

Sorry, I meant she's seeing them perform in Rockefeller Center on the Today Show this Friday, not actually in concert.

OK...I just watched the show here is my thoughts

Brooke - good but she is forgettable every week to me. I almost forgot she sang till the recap

DC - Good I liked it but its not the Billie Jean he sang last week. Byt he slowly becoming my favorite...slowly I said

Ramielle - time for her to go she, not good at all.

Jason - eh, it was ok i guess, not real impressive

Carly - I thought was amazing, she has great vocals. I thought she did a great job of one of my favorite Dolly songs. It should have been a little faster, dolly's version is a little faster tempo but vocally she was great.

David A - I cannot stand the singing through his nose and he only has one or 2 tones. It was ok because it was a good choice of song for his voice but I dont really care for him.

KLC- This is her genre, I can here her singing country. I thought she did a great job. Looked great and sounded great. Mandy her voice reminded me of smeone but I couldnt put my hand on it. Any thoughts?

Syesha - I really love this song, its from my HS days and it means alot emotionally to me. Plus the movie "Bodygaurd" is one of my favorites. She did a superb job, and when they hit the pause and she hit that big not I got chills just like I do when Whitney sings it. I loved it and she showed the power in her voice tonight....great job...

MJ - I am sorry but I dont get it.... He was just not good. Didnt like the song and didnt like the way it was sung. He maybe robins man but he isnt that good. Maybe it was just the song but I havent liked him really at all.

I feel bad for David. He's on the cover of the new Star magazine about his "family tragedy." He's not even an actual star yet and the media's already hounding his family Apparently the "AC" on his guitar every week is for his brother and I hope things turn out OK. My Uncle had cancer twice and the last thing anyone would have needed during that horrible time was being gossiped about in random magazines

I read that "breaking news" very late last night on TMZ but didn't know if it was true until this morning. I had read, very early on, that DC's older brother has brain cancer and that he had been diagnosed many years ago. Then, during the semis, from what was written, he kind of took a turn for the worse.

If it's true, (that it is brain cancer) how heartbreaking. I bet DC is so conflicted - on the verge of some very great things happening to him professionally while some extremely bad things are happening personally. If you ever look at his eyes when he gets his really great reviews from Simon, he always looks like he is misting up. I hope he takes that orange bracelet to heart. (the one he wears for the little girl with leukemia) I think it says something like, do what you gotta do. If (and this is only my speculation) he had to leave the show early, I think he has made it far enough to get a recording deal.

I'm still holding out hope that KLC will be the "shocker" elimination. Who would've thought she would leave on Dolly Parton week plus she was quite snarky again in her comments to Simon.


If not, it could be Jason. I do think Rami will finally make it to the bottom 3 but will be safe. I also think Brooke might make a trip to the bottom but will be safe as well.

I agree. I don't see what the big deal is. I mean, EVERYONE is doing cover songs on this show, right? Yeah. It's a karaoke (sp?) contest.

But yet they get slammed many a time for "sounding too karaoke-y"....
