Took a look at Dialidol this morning-wont spoil it but lets just say its nice to see someone else on top besides David A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

Wow! Thanks for reminding me to look, I always forget but I like to see the predictions. I'm very happy with this week's :woohoo: :woohoo: Oh how the mighty have fallen ;) :lmao: Sorry, it's not another week of Idol without me giving David A a hard time :confused3 :rotfl2:

Once again I was blown away by David Cook!
What an excellent version of Billie Jean.
No matter what place he finishes, he will be a STAR!

My perfect concert would be David Cook opening for Chris Daughtry

After hearing Kristy Lee Cook sing, my 10 year old daughter said "go sing that at a football stadium and get off idol".

The back up singers were really LOUD last night-they need to tone it down a bit.

I agree with your 10 y.o.
For me...best girl performance was Brooke and best male performance was David Cook....

David A. and Kristy were both so cheesy, like a mall grad opening or something.

Have you guys heard the buzz about David Archuleta's Dad? They were talking about it on the radio this morning, so I looked into it a little. Allegedly his dad is a bit controlling....

Yes. I think he is under a tremendous amount of pressure. When he hears positive feedback from the judges, his reaction is not a little act of "oh my, oh me?!" but rather a big less controlled happy sigh of relief.

On a cheesy mom note: I wish I could adopt him, take him everywhere I go and tell him he doesn't have to win.

What was up with Paula's outfit last night? Somewhere a figure skater is skating naked.

Well I was close, I had 4 pages to read through. Dan the comment didn't offend me, I was sitting here with my eyes closing on me.

We shall see what happens tonight, I don't look at DialIdol.

Okay I can't wait for RyMickey so I'm biting off babieemelly!!

Ramiele:She played the SICK  card last night which makes sense since at the end she seemed to be struggling.

Jason: I love Jason but that song was just booooring. I still think he's going to fine. :hippie:

Syesha: Syesha just bores the heck out of me. Nice voice but so what? :confused3

Chikezie: I like Chikezie more and more every week. He went straight up OLD SCHOOL R & B last night. Luther Vandross should be held up with Whitney and Mariah as one of the voices people should NOT try to do. Nevertheless, he did okay. :goodvibes

Brooke: I like Brooke for some reason. She seems genuine. She channeled her best Faith Hill last night while doing Sting... she was aiiiight.. from the Randy Jacksons Dictionary! :thumbsup2

Michael: Okay, I'm not going to act like I haven't been lusting after this man since the beginning.... .... I have and probably always will. But until last night I wanted to SPANK him. His old stuff on YouTube is just AWESOME and every week on AI he was just ...eh....

:cheer2:  But last night he did MAMA PROUD!!! :cheer2:
I'm soooo glad I named my child after you, honey....:rotfl:

Carly: I think they need to murder the background singer or let ME control the levels!! :furious: She was drowned out! I like Carly a LOT more than I used to and this is one of my favorite songs. I think she did alright till the end... that note was just NOT da bomb... also from the Randy dictionary.. :teacher:

David A: I had to rewatch his song because I spent the whole time going :confused3 The words were sort of DEEP. But the song was tres corny. On the AI Board the Archies aren't as CRAZY as they've been but they still love their guy. But alas, I found many jumping ship as of last night.. Seriously folks, I sometimes expect Ryan to come on and give him a tiara and a sash with the words "Mr. America" on it...

Kristy Lee: Ugh, no words...:scared:

David Cook: :worship: :worship: Also NO WORDS .. but in a GOOD WAY!! I rewatched him also and I'm still in AWE. He was AMAZING. I admit I was NOT a fan until recently but the ones who sneak up on us have the most staying power. DC snuck up on us, unlike some of the others who were crammed down our throats. He has complete staying power and is the REAL dark horse in this competition.

If it were up to me it would be the MICHAEL AND DAVE C SHOW.. everyone else can go home!! :cheer2:

I dont see the problem. Keep reading back plenty of comments. 60 some odd pages worth. Same people year after year in here yet new people wanna come in and complain....We were just passing time till the next show....chill

I'm new and I'm not complaining. I like the chit-chatting that goes on between shows. It's fun! There are over 60 pages on this thread and I'd say a very large percentage are about American Idol.

And all of these side conversations all stem from something American Idol related...it just ends up somewhere totally different (like regular conversations tend to do.)

After Amanda's departure last week, I basically lost interest in writing reviews. However I did take a few notes last night so here goes...

Ramiele: Carrie Underwood sang this and sang it a lot better. 5

Jason: Couldn't understand a word he was singing. 6

Syesha: Probably her best so far. 9

Chikezie: Shaky beginning but about a third of the way through it became magical. 8

Brooke: She just trashed my most favorite song. 4

Michael: He has my husband's birthday. Better than any of the other weeks but I still don't think he has a very good voice. 8

Carly: The end of that song was HORRID. Gave her a 5 and she was lucky to get that.

David A.: Theme park performance as Simon said. Dreadful. 2

Kristy Lee: A bit pitchy but, in comparison to her other weeks, this was pretty good. 7

David C. YUP! :thumbsup2 10

Get rid of the mosh pit and the waving arms.:sad2: Oh and someone dress Simon. He looked like a slob last night!

Don't forget Paula...someone needs to dress her too! EEK!

I thought the song choices for the evening were very odd (what WAS that song by David A??). Overall there was only one memorable performance compliments of my man David Cook. BUt here's my take on the evening.

Ramiele: She really seemd like she was trying to run with the big dogs, and for a moment I thought she could do it. The song was bigger than her usualy fare which is good because her voice IS kinda big. But ultimately it fell short.

Jason: He is a one trick pony, and it's time to be put out to pasture. He has brought nothing new or interesting to the table sicne "HAllelujah". His facial expressions are awkward and his voice just isn't that good. It's like listening to James taylor (boring) without the actual talent. His song choice??? Fragile?? Was that number three on the album's B side or what?

Syesha: While definitely her best song by a long shot, it's still same old same old. She cannot seem to excite me. The fact that I have no idea what song that was didn't help.

Chikezie: Not sure why this song was so personal to him like he insisted, but boy oh boy did he look PISSED at Simon cause he didn't "get it". The performance was ok. But Simon was right...Chikezie is much better letting loose!

Brooke: ANybody else starts to sing, stops and then starts OVER would have gotten crushed by the judges. The tongue bath over her misstep shows who the favored girl in this horse race is. I agreed with the judges in that the song was better with just her on piano, but overall it was good.

Michael: What is everyone gushing over??? He's just not that good. I WANTED to love this so bad, but it was just meh for me. I thought the "medley" was (As Simon would say) indulgent.

Carly, WAS outsung byt the backup simger. She was screamy and almost hoarse in a few parts. I like Carly best of the girls but tonight was an OFF night for her on a song I really like.

David A: Did he sing this in his junior high musical?? That song was beyond lame. Sure he sang it great, but BLECH! Like an 80's summer camp movie montage where all the kids are banding together to build a canoe or something! No WAY he chose that song.

Kristy Lee: Apparently she can do patriotic real well. Didn't she sing Amazing Grace or the National Anthem during Hollywood week? It was a great song for her, she sang it well, and like Simon said BRILLIANT choice (tug this mid west heart strings!)

David Cook: The Shining BEacon of Hope for the night. I was beyond petrified when I heard what his choice of song was. Billie Jean...REALY??? But holy heck! While the song was almost unrecognizable as Billie Jean (ala Jacko), it was a brilliant musical feat performed like a pro. This guy is on fire and win or lose will have a mega career ahead of him.

Tops tonight:
David C

Had a good night:
Syesha
Brooke
Kristy Lee
David A

Under the Radar:
Chikezie
Michael Johns

Had an off night:
Carly
Jason

Bottom of the heap and heading home:
Ramiele

If you want to hear SCREAMING on "Total Eclipse of the Heart"...check out Nikki from season 1. EEK! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCiIoiZmmxo

Yes, please post pics! I like Melinda - I'm disappointed I haven't heard ANYTHING about her since last season ended.

I thought Melinda was the best singer that season! Sad she didn't win because her voice was great!

Chris D couldn't wash David C's underwear.... NO comparison but the genre IMHO! :lmao:

David is a STAR. He can hold his own on stage and he has an appeal that crosses all ages and tastes.

He reeled me in like a dying guppy! This time I won't have to go to the bathroom during the ROCK guy's time on the tour!!

Thank you! I totally agree. I couldn't stand Chris D. I'd mute it when he came on. Didn't they play his song for the voted off song last season or something? I think I recall muting the t.v. for that too. His voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me. I can't handle the out of control vibrato. If David Cook didn't have great control over his...I'd hate him too. But he has amazing control over his voice. So talented! (And the more I like the music...the cuter he gets too. In the beginning I didn't even notice him but now I think he's just wonderful!)

...uhhhhhh, YEAH! [...I THINK..... ]

I thought last night was good.
Ramielle was as bad as I expected her to be with that song.
Jason... We enjoyed it, but it was not his best... and at least he didn't END with a doofy expression this time ;)
Syesha is just so boring that it does not matter if she has a good voice, she needs to go away.
Chikeze: less boring than his other ballads, and it sounded good, but still on the dull side.
Carly: Hated the background singers... They reallly need to work on the volume they set them at. DH and I enjoyed her performance until the last crouching note.
Michael Johns: His best performance since hollywood! I hope he shows us next week that he can excell at something OTHER than Queen though.
David A. Song choice... What was he (or his daddy) thinking??
Brooke: DH and I just "like" her. Last night was not great, but we still enjoyed it.
Kristy Lee: Better than I thought it would be... She didn't put too much twang into it and over country-fy it. (think 8 days a week!:scared1: :scared1:  )
David C: :cool1: What can I say... he had me at "hello". (hee hee, what movie is that line from?) We didn't love him or hate him before that, but since then he has just been better and better.

as far as Idle chat goes... keep it up! Its funny, and it gives us something to do between shows!
