Okay, I don't know if this is good or bad but

:cool1: MELINDA DOOLITTLE IS GOING TO BE AT MY KROGER THIS AFTERNOON!!!:cool1:

Promoting the American Idol Edy's Ice Cream. I entered that stupid contest about a million times and didn't win! But at least I get a chance to meet and greet Melinda in the Dairy aisle!! :lmao:

I'll have pics of me acting a fool tomorrow!:thumbsup2

...way cool!:thumbsup2

On another note:

Tom Joyner's show was talking about American Idol this morning and I have to say I'm SHOCKED. They usually only talk about the African American contestants but today it was all about DAVID COOK!! :worship:

They said they had never heard "Billy Jean" so good... and they said that Chikezie needs to add the "Chikezie Twist" :dancer: to every song!!

Yes, please post pics! I like Melinda - I'm disappointed I haven't heard ANYTHING about her since last season ended.

Who do you see as having actual star potential here? Look at them all objectively, if you can.

I see David C being Daughtry #2

I see David A doing EXCEEDINGLY well with the Jonas Bro/Miley Cyrus crowd.

So while I hate to admit it, because there are others I love as well, those are the 2 that I see really raking in the bucks.

I completely agree! I can definitely see David C. being the next Daughtry! I still like Chris a teensy bit more than David, but he's definitely growing on me during each show. I absolutely LOVED his performance last night.

I think David A. would do well only in that crowd. While he's a really cute kid, I just don't think he'd do very well otherwise. There's just something about him...

Everyone is going to be at the altar of Dave by the end of this season. :worship: :worship: And now I know who this Tom Joyner is that has such a big reunion at Disney every year. :lmao:

Ok, given that this is not a singing contest, but a popularity contest (it just IS, ok)....and that the long term success of these people will not be based upon how well they can sing Amazing Grace (for example ;) ), but how popular they are (because popular = $$$$ in showbusiness).....

Chris D couldn't wash David C's underwear.... NO comparison but the genre IMHO! :lmao:

David is a STAR. He can hold his own on stage and he has an appeal that crosses all ages and tastes.

He reeled me in like a dying guppy! This time I won't have to go to the bathroom during the ROCK guy's time on the tour!!

Which Kroger is that? My DD8 loved Melinda last year. Maybe we can swing by... I could use some groceries anyway. Do you know what time?

Me Too! Chris is my favorite of all the past contestants (even the winners). :lovestruc

So far DC is the only one I've voted for. I don't want him to go out like Chris did.

Have you guys heard the buzz about David Archuleta's Dad? They were talking about it on the radio this morning, so I looked into it a little. Allegedly his dad is a bit controlling....

I've been hearing a lot about this, don't know if it's true or not. He seems like a happy little boy but way too orchestrated. I'd like to think it's from his own insides but who knows?

Personally I think it's more PR, the more a person's name is in the news, good or bad, it keeps people wondering about him and tuning in.

I thought last night was awesome! It was one of the most entertaining nights they've had in a while!

Ramiele: It started off strong and I thought she'd finally do well, but then it all just fell flat. The girl has a GREAT voice but she doesn't know how to use it. She was behind on the timing and just couldn't keep up with it all. She'll be gone soon.

Jason: :headache: I LOVED Jason in the beginning but he's really falling flat. I loved when he sang "Daydream" that first week of the semifinals but since then he's gotten worse each week. Hallelujah was a definite hit but since then he's gone downhill. I think he's an awesome guy and his expressions and interviews crack me up but he just isn't going anywhere. He has a huge fan base so I don't think he's going anywhere soon, and I really don't want him to, but he needs to step it up!

Syesha: I thought she sounded great last night! That being said, when she started I thought "Wow, she sounds great!" and then I spaced out for the next minute and a half :lmao: It was still old fashioned and boring. I like her as a person, and always thought she was older than 21!, but she just doesn't capture my attention.

Chikezie: Boring, boring, boring. This was another performance that I spaced out during. It was RIDICULOUSLY old-fashioned, stuffy and just nothing special. I don't like Luther Vandross, though, so it could have just been the song choice, but he lost some of the momentum that he had built up the past two weeks. :confused3

Brooke: I love Brooke! She's the cutest thing :lmao: I really love her voice. She has the most heartfelt voice I've heard in a long time. I was a little :scared1: when she started to sing and then started over just because you never get away with something like that on this show. True performers do it if they need to, though. It's better than singing the entire song in the wrong key! :lmao: Either way, she did great but I did like the piano-only first half of the song much better than the second half. She's still my favorite girl.

Michael: I LOVE Michael Johns! He has the stage presence of a star and his voice is AWESOME. I have a lot of his pre-Idol music and I listen to it all the time. He sounds amazing in the studio and I just really love his voice. I did think the performance started off a little shaky and he had some off notes but he really picked it up. I love him!

Carly: I didn't think it was that bad :confused3 I can't stand the girl but I actually thought she did pretty well, so I was surprised when the judges gave her a hard time. I still think she's one of the "chosen ones" and the criticism was just to get people voting... and to offset the fact that they praise her regardless of what she does and the judges put down the other contestants by mentioning her

David A: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Hence my "cheesetastic" comment from yesterday afternoon! I've never even heard of that song but just from the title I knew it would be a doozy. I looked up the lyrics last night before the show and knew that it was going to be... well... cheesetastic! But let me tell you, I was not at all prepared for that level of cheesiness! :rotfl2: That kid's got a different platform each week... if he's not singing for the homeless he's singing for world peace ;) It's just all WAY too much... he's like a pageant contestant! He has a decent voice but he hit a few off notes last night, and his "dancing" is just hilarious! The way he sways back and forth as he licks his lips and wheezes cracks me up! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Oh man, good times...

Kristy Lee: That was DEFINITELY a brilliant song choice for the girl. She's been trying to play the "down-home, All-American country girl" from the beginning so now she just went all out :lmao: I HATE that song and think it's ridiculously cheesy. I was obsessed with Idol during season 2 and saw the concert both times they were in the area, and they did a whole big tribute to this song and it was HORRIBLE. They recorded this song as a group charity single that same season and it was just cheesy, cheesy, cheesy. Anyway, I've got to give Kristy props cause she sounded pretty good. I'd never in a million year actually listen to her or that song on a normal basis, but she sounded better than she has. It's still her time to go.

David Cook: :worship: :worship: Seriously, he's AMAZING! And you all need to back off because I was the only one on here in the beginning of the season who loved him. Seriously, go back and read my posts in the first American Idol thread ;) I loved him from his audition, really loved him during Hollywood week, and looked forward to seeing him every week during the semi-finals. Then he has a few awesome weeks and everyone jumps on the bandwagon! :lmao: He's amazing at everything he does and he's going FAR. As much as I still don't think he should win for his own sake, I have a feeling he's the true dark horse to win and surprise both the entire teenybopper population across America AND all the cynics who felt that Carly was set to win from the beginning. And maybe it wouldn't be so bad since the winner goes on the Today Show and my dad works at NBC so I wouldn't mind hanging out with him backstage for a while... ;) :rotfl2: Go David!

I can't wait for the show tonight! This is the best season of the show ever. It really is. David and Michael are AMAZING and have more stage presence than everyone on all of the past seasons combined. They're all pretty good and do have strong voices so it's going to be interesting to see how everything plays out!

Thanks Robin!

Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be able to make it out there. DD8 gets out of dance class at 4:45 and with Atlanta traffic I think we would really be pushing it. I was hoping the meet and greet was at a Kroger a little closer to me. Oh, well. take some pictures!

You know I agree!!!

I actually agree with everything you said. :thumbsup2 This is OUR year! :cool1:

Pleasssssssssssse!!!!!! I am not ready for Jason to go yet but it is looking pretty scary!!!

I wouldn't worry about Jason. I think the critique he took last night was for his own good, though.

He should make it thru ALL of the girls (besides Carly) and probably Chikezie.

Took a look at Dialidol this morning-wont spoil it but lets just say its nice to see someone else on top besides David A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

Once again I was blown away by David Cook!
What an excellent version of Billie Jean.
No matter what place he finishes, he will be a STAR!

My perfect concert would be David Cook opening for Chris Daughtry

After hearing Kristy Lee Cook sing, my 10 year old daughter said "go sing that at a football stadium and get off idol".

The back up singers were really LOUD last night-they need to tone it down a bit.
