I think it's time for Scott to go. His comment last night sounded arrogant to me also. Plus I don't know if anyone notices, but all he sings are ballards. He never sings nothing lively. Only the slow songs. He has no variety.

Nadia- was a disappointment (bad song choice). I hope she makes it through.

Vonzell- Did excellent. She's getting better each week.

Carrie- I liked her. Loved that song too.

Anwar- He was pretty good.

Bo- just ok

Constantine- He did pretty good too.

Anthony- was a LOT better than last week. I still think he's boring though.

Paula needs to lay off the alcohol/drugs. Even Simon was giving her some strange looks.

And as far as his comment to Simon, I wonder how many people would have had a problem with it if it had come from one of the more popular contestants such as Constantine. I am betting a lot of people would be saying how they thought it was great if Constantine had said that to Simon, but since it is Scott, then it was such a terrible thing to do.

I can't answer for anyone else, but had anyone said that I would have found it to be uncalled for. Even if my two favorite idols (Kelly Clarkson or Kimberley Locke) had done it, I would have called them out on it. To me, there is a difference between making a witty retort to Simon and insulting the very fans that have put you were you are. That is a very fine line to walk and in this case, in my opinion, Scott crossed it. My opinion on the matter is if you want to be in the music industry you had better be able to accept your critique as much as your praise. What Simon is saying is pale by comparison to the critique they will face later so if they can't take the heat they'd better get out of the kitchen.

I read everyone's opinions but I don't agree with them all. That what makes this show fun...we all hear the same song, but we all hear something different (or see something different)

Holy bad song choices, batman, I agree with Beattyfamily about something ! :earseek:

I think I need to lie down. ;)

Who will go: Scott
hahahahahahahahahahhaha :rotfl: I agree, Scott will go. Not because of his song choice or his voice, I think it was his attitude that got the best of him last night. :sad2: Maybe because he thought he was a goner last week and when he made it thru to this week he thought he was unstoppable???hmmm wake up and smell the hummas

 BTW my favorite of the night was......Constantine!

I wouldn't have cared who said that to Simon. It annoys me and even if it was my favorite, I would have still been annoyed :) Constantine was my fave again last night, and I thought Anthony sounded great for once.

Now I didn't think Scott had a bad attitude at all. He was proud of his performance and wanted to say so. It ia amazing how everyone slams Scott for saying something yet the ugly mouthed Michaela seemed to get cheered by the same group! If anyone was the trashmouther it was her.

I've watched every season, but don't recall...

Does anybody remember when they start having only a bottom two - due to the diminishing number of contestants?

Also, last year (a couple of times at least) they would group people (for example) in three groups and say to group 1 - "You're safe. You received the top number of votes this week." Then to group 3 - "You're safe. You were in the middle." And finally to group 2 - "You're the bottom 3/2 for this week."

Inquiring minds want to know. :flower:

Does anybody read everyone's reviews or are we all doing this just to vent?

I read every post on this thread, but it doesn't seem like this thread is one where there seems to be a conversation, the sort of give and take that is prevalent on some other threads. I asked a question about guest judges some pages back and never really got a response....

I did want to say I really appreciate everyone who takes the time to critique each performance. Some people I totally disagree with, but I still enjoy seeing the reviews just the same.

I read each post on the thread - especially the reviews. I love to see the different perspectives.

Snoopy - I saw your question but didn't know the answer, so that's why I didn't post. I thought they had gotten rid of guest judges?

Nadia -- vocally she was OK, but the song was SO boring. What kills her is her choice of songs, not her talent. She could have gone so much further is she just had a clue as to what songs sell and what don't. Unfortunately, I think her days are numbered.

Bo, or Bogart;) - nothing special. Love the song "Freebird", but Bo was Bo. It was a pretty predictable performance.

Anwar - This man has a GORGEOUS voice, and I agree w/ Randy, technically, he has the best voice of the bunch. Choice of song was right for him. He is definitely the king of ballads with a kick. Anwar seemed to definitely kick it up a notch tonight. He should be safe. Still one of my favorites!

Anthony - May have gotten himself a get out of the bottom 3 card with this performance. Sounded good, had good stage presence. This was definitely a good choice for him, and he pulled it off! He will definitely get the 'tween vote.

Vonzell - my favorite of all of the women. She can sell a song, looks like she is enjoying herself and has a great voice. She has the package, now can she take it into the top 3?

Scott - The beginning was definitely out of his range, and he was having a hard time hitting the low notes. Once he got to the higher range he did a great job. Unfortunately, at this point in the competition, everything counts, and he could definitely find himself in the bottom 3 tonight... or perhaps with a one way ticket home.

Carrie - nice to see her break away from her country roots and I really thought she was going to pull it off. Then she got toward the end, messed up her words, and tried to improvise those high notes that aren't in the song. Those were AWFUL.... she just screached them out, and they were in no way in tune. Of course, all of the die hard Carrie fans will forgive her anything. I think she has been reading the boards and knows some people find her boring. Well, if the shoe fits....

Constantine - he is the most versatile of all of the contestants in this show. When I saw he was doing Bohemian Rhapsody I was thinking "if anyone can pull this off, he can". And he DID!!! I was SO impressed. I have watched his performance 4 times. He definitely has the voice of Freddy Mercury, as well as the showmanship. If Queen ever wants to tour again, I think they have found their new front man. Constantine is my new choice for AMERICAN IDOL!!!!

On the guest judges, I have noticed that I think that they have done away with them this year. Its like they flip-flopped and had guest judges during the initial auditions, and not during the final shows. Last year it was the opposite. I wonder what made them change??
And I dont know when they go to the lower group of 2 instead of 3...I think they go with the lower 3 until they get lower than 6. So easy to group it half safe, half not safe with 3 and 3. That's what I remember though, but not sure on the exact number. And tonight I think they will do the 3,3 and 3 bit since they are at a perfect 9.
I may be in the minority, but I have always thought Anthony had a super voice, just wish some of the choices of songs were different. I really liked his last night's performance, and Anwar is my favorite, so I will always vote for him...I also have really liked Constantine, and I think he will win it. He is winning everyone over, even my DH who HATED him in the beginning of the top 12 shows. Now he says even he is beginning to really enjoy his performances, and is pretty good!... :earseek: LOL! So anything is possible I say!!

There's only 8 of them left Michelle so they can't do the 3,3 and 3 :)

Now I'm getting scared...I also noticed the resemblance between "C" and Danny Bonaduce last night. :rotfl2:

I may be in the monority here, but, I think NADIA will go tonight, come back to Miami, and work in the Bar on South Beach she USED to work at. :rolleyes1

Well, I never noticed it until the other poster pointed it out to me, how funny!!!

I'm joining this thread VERY late but I've really enjoyed reading it! I'm realizing I'm in the minority, but I'm a big Anthony fan. I know he won't win, but I don't think it's his time to go tonight. That said, I keep hearing people make reference to "all that Anthony has overcome", etc.... What has he overcome? All I have found is that english isn't his first language. Is that it? Thanks for any info! :)

I believe that he had a tracheotomy when he was young and wasn't supposed to be able to talk.
