ARGH!!!!!!!!

I can not believe we have to suffer through another week with Scott. :sad2: He really should have been the one to go this week - and my feelings have nothing to do with this background. I haven't liked him for a long time.

Fantasia? Yikes! Too bad she didn't decide to lip synch instead. I don't care for that song on the radio but it is even worse live with all of the screaming and jumping.

boy am I glad they cut of most of his goodbye song, that was worse then last night....I imagine it is tough to sing when you were just told you are going home....

I never understood that anyway. "America thought that you sucked worse than anyone else last night, so why don't you sing again?" Seems like it would at least be better to let them sing ANY one of the songs that they have sung in past shows. It seems that everyone has one "good show" that they could pick and how hard would it be to have the music ready for the band? It isn't like they haven't played it before, and each singer could pick the song that they want to sing *IF* they go home that night before the show starts.

First let me say that I was surprised by the bottom 3 and yet I wasn't. I don't think that the bottom 3 was what it should have been but then like I said earlier it is so hard to predict who America will vote for in general.

I was kind of sad to see the bottom 3 b/c I liked all of them but honestly the one I was hoping would go was Scott. I like him but I don't think he is nearly as good as Vonzell or Nikko. And Vonzell is the one that I felt should not have been in the bottom 3 at all. That honor should have gone to either Anthony or Anwar IMO. But then it really doesn't matter anyway. They all start dropping like flies at this point anyway. Scott won't be around much longer and I don't think Anthony will either. I think it will be Scott, then Anthony, and then Anwar who go next. They are getting to the more talented and/or more popular contestants now and I just don't see them making it as far. Of course Vonzell and Nadia may go first too even though I don't believe they should. Anyway, AI certainly can have it's unpredictable moments but that's what makes it interesting.

As far as Fantasia...OMG! I could have gone forever without having to listen to her again! I couldn't stand her last year and thought she was even worse tonight than I remembered! My poor DH was in the kitchen when she started singing and thought that they were doing a skit or something making fun of a singer. He couldn't believe it when I told him that no, that was Fantasia. And yes, she was actually screaming instead of singing! Hopefully that will be the last time I ever have to hear her again! :sad2:

aw, goodbye, nikko. suprised? yes. disappointed? not really.
i think scott will be the next to go...

why, why, why, WHY wasn't anthony in the bottom three? He was horrendous! and scott just looked scary standing there (he so needs to go home!) I guess there's always next week right? maggie

Holy cow! What a disappointing night. OK, so I poked around on the internet and finally found a site that had the video of Fantasia singing Summertime. I was blown away by this performance. When I heard she was going to be on last night, I was really looking forward to hearing her sing. Come on... that had to be a double. It couldn't have been the same person who sung that song so sweetly. :p We had 90% of her airtime muted. HORRIBLE!!

I'm another one who doesn't get America's choices. Vonzell had no business being in that bottom 3. Scott? Yes. Nikko? Maybe. But where was Anthony? Are there that many people out there voting for him that like someone who has delivered off key, lackluster performances week after week? I just don't get it.

Even my DH who thinks AI is a pretty dumb show (but secretly I think he likes it! ) was upset about Nikko leaving in place of Scott.

Just a word about Bo. Was he kidding when he said he was worried about being kicked off? I don't think he was. Bo needs to check out the AIFox board. His popularity spans all age groups.

If logic has it's way, next week Scott or Anthony would be gone barring any type of incredible performance. I fear that those who are willing to invest 2 hours with speed dialing for these two may send someone else home who has a lot more going for them.

My buddy refers to him as "puppy killer". :rotfl2:

anthony is not as capable as anyone else on that stage, and the only reason he's still around is that teenage girls think he's "hot".
Ewwwwwww. He looks like a surprised Mon-Chi-Chi to me.

Actually, I find it vastly more disturbing that people are just willing to dismiss it as a one time thing.

let me clue you in on a little secret...

Just because someone was only charged with ONE time, doesn't mean thats the only time they did it.
You're right. But it also doesn't mean it's NOT the only time he did. Here in the United States, you're supposed to be innocent until proven guilty.

Okay, here is my 2 cents on the issue with Scott, his past, and why I do not feel he should be where he is.

I am all for people making up for their past, learning, making a better life for themselves after they pay for their mistakes. That is not where the issue lies for me.

If Scott were to get a recording contract on his own talent and merit and succeed, more power to him. We all know the music industry is full of less than moral people and we can pick or chose who we want to be fans of or even put on a pedestal as an "Idol".

But I do NOT believe that he should be allowed to continue in this contest because of his violent past. If you are trying to promote someone as an "idol", I feel that person must have a moral standard that definately does not include domestic violence.

Kids watch this show dreaming of their chance to get up on stage and maybe become the next big singer and if we say to them "you can beat your girlfriend and we will still stand behind you, call you incredible (in the case of how Paula is acting) and make you famous".. what message are we sending them? That America doesn't really care about morals?

Geez Louise, we have enough trouble with the morals of our politicians. And you can better believe that anyone convicted of domestic violence would have a hard time getting far in politics.

I didn't watch the first three seasons but I have read on here that someone named Frenchie was kicked off because she posed topless. Well, why is what she did punishable and worse than abusing your girlfriend who just gave birth to your baby 3 weeks earlier?? I'm sure at the end of the day, nobody walked out of a hospital ER with bruises after what Frenchie did (ok, keep your perverted comments to yourself ;) :rolleyes1  ) Let me clarify though that I do not feel she should have continued either because she had a past that did not fit that of someone being promoted as an "idol" for youth.

Like I said earlier, I am not saying that Scott should not be able to make it on his own merits. If he can get himself out there and get a recording contract, that is fine by me. But I do NOT believe American Idol should be helping him do it.

I was shocked! I thought for sure Scott was going home. I think even he thought he was going home. I am not a huge Nikko fan, I think he can sing and with the right songs I think he will do great. He has a nice stage presences.
I kind of liked Fantasia but last night was just horrible.
I still feel Scott and Anthony need to go home.

I was suprised too because I thought that Nikko did pretty well! For some reason, the show is starting to get on my nerves.

Did Fantasia gain weight? She looked different. I didn't like the song that she sang either. :flower:

I don't even consider it when I decide who gets my vote. I don't care if he did it more than once. I vote for whose voice I like, no whose past is morally up my alley. I find it disturbing that you jump on these threads to continually harrass people for their opinions.

I don't mean this to be insulting or anything, but WHO is Anthony's fan base?? Who votes for him? (I don't mean individual posters, I mean group of people) There has to be a big demographic and type that is pulling for him otherwise he wouldn't be getting this far. I was just curious.

As for Fantasia, she merely reminded me of the horror that was season 3. Leah LaBelle? Camille Valasco? Jasmine Trias? Matthew Rogers? Come ON! If any of this years contestants were in it last year they would be my American Idol in a heartbeat. Season 3 is just better to put behind us and move on.

My 5 year old loves Anthony. If I did vote I would have to vote for him because of how excited he gets when he sees Anthony. I love to see him dance when Anthony sings and for that reason I would vote for Anthony.

Did anyone see Simon on Oprah this week? I think it was on Mon. They also did an Oprah after the Show with him that was pretty entertaining. He had some interesting comments about Paula's new album when asked about it by an audience member. He was very frank and honest and if anyone ever doubted it, that's just the way he is and he is not ashamed of it! I like him though I wouldn't want to live with him! I think AI needs that perspective and the contestants have grown to expect the harsh comments and take them much better this season than in past seasons since it is expected.

As for the Scott issue...I think AI made a mistake in allowing him to be on after they learned about his past. He did disclose it and they choce to let him continue...so now they have to stand behind him and not kick him off because it would make the powers that be for the show look bad.

I liked Scott's voice, but wasn't crazy about his personality. I know I said I wouldn't vote for him anymore, but when I though he was going to get kicked off, I felt a little bad. :confused3

Anthony...I'm not sure if his fan base is the teen girls or the older women (like me) I like his voice, but have to admit he has not been making good song choices.

I still say final 2 will be Carrie and Bo.

DH and I thought it in very poor taste that Scott simply walked away and didn't shake hands or anything with Nikko.

I thought Scott looked creepy/scary from the beginning. There is just something about him that gives me the creeps. I tried to like him. But, he really makes me uneasy.

I keep wanting Anthony to let go and sing....but, I'm starting to doubt it's going to happen.

I really like Constantine....not so much because he has a spectacular voice, but I love the way he changes the songs and does his own thing.

Carrie....nice voice....looks a lot like Kelly Clarkson with blonde hair....but, I don't get any emotion from her....no happiness, no excitment....just blah. :confused3

Scott looked like he was in shock and then Ryan told him to go sit down. With his charge of disorderly conduct hitting the media, I'm sure he felt his time was up.
