All this talk about talent and creepy...Anthony has no talent and I find HIM creepy. There's no way he should still be in this competition. Jessica shouldn't be gone yet. And yes, I noticed that Carrie didn't seem too upset.

I disagree as far as talent. I think Anthony has a good voice. I think people just don't like the way he looks. He won't win, but I think he can sing better than, Anwar, Nikko and Scott.

I didn't vote at all...but just one note...Ruben wobbled the same way for all his songs to and he won the whole thing.

Speaking as a fat guy... most of us don't dance well. :teeth:

do all 12 get to tour or is it just the top 10?

Also how long do they have to stay in the contract with AI after the show ends?

I was very shocked by who was in the bottom 3. I had a feeling Anwar would be there, but safe. I hope this week is better. I really like him. I felt it should have been Scott and Anthony with Anthony going home.

I just have to reply b/c I like both Scott and Nikko. I don't vote b/c I am not able to...long story...but if I did vote I would have voted for both of them. And I don't worry about the sob stories or who someone's father is either. Honestly, since I don't care at all about sports I have no idea who Nikko's dad is. I mean, I know from this thread who he is but it's the first I heard of it. And I like Scott's voice and wouldn't vote for him just b/c of his family issues. It is possible that some of us like them for other reasons, such as we like their voices or their style of music. Also, I realize that you don't like Nikko and I can understand why but not all of us think R&B is crap.

That being said, I do agree that Scott was absolutely terrible last night and deserved to be in the bottom 3 but I thought Anthony should have been too. I wasn't real surprised that Anwar or Jessica was in the bottom but I didn't expect Nadia to be. I would rather have had Anwar go home but I am not that impressed with Jessica either so I am glad she left. I figure she would have been gone by next week either way. I know Scott deserved to be in the bottom 3 but I am glad he wasn't b/c now maybe he'll realize how close he could have come to going home and will do better next week.

I totally agree with everything you said.....I really like Scott's voice and want him to go far, no I don't think he will win, but if he goes far enough to get a recording contract I would be first in line for his CD. And like I said before I have never bought an Idols CD so for me, that is saying something.

In no way am I voting for sympathy!

There was an article in yesterday's USA Today ( front page ) about AI. I belive that most of them sign a 3 year deal, or it may have been a 3 CD deal, unless AI releases them from it.

I agree - I like Anthony. Do i think he'll win? No, but I do think that he has grown a great deal from this experience which is great.

I think he is better than Anway, Nikko and Scott too and don't see what the hype is with Scott - I think he needs to be the next to go.

I'll agree that Anthony has a "nice" voice, but so does my neighbor (and a lot of other people) and you don't see him on the show. It's "nice", but not something to stand up and notice. What I dislike is the way he pronounces things. I understand that he wasn't born here, but he just sings with some kind of strange accent that really makes my skin crawl. And I don't find him attractive in the least, although I thought he was cuter with the glasses than without.

Well, I'm bummed but not shocked. I loved Jessica and for me, she should have been in the top 3 with Carrie and Bo!

But this happens every year. Someone great leaves early. For some reason she didn't get a following even though she's got talent.

I cannot comprehend how Anthony is in the top 10! I was hoping the bottom three would be Anthony, Scott, and either Nikko, Nadia or Anwar. But not Jessica.

I must say, that ALL of the contestants in the top 10 this year are MUCH better than Fantasia!!

With that being said, I was shocked to see Jessica go this soon. I figured she would make it to #3!!! I was really thinking it would be Scott or Nikko going out this week & next, with Anwar & Anthony shortly after them. Scott & Anwar are both very boring. Scott in his over all style - he just doesn't have personality or charisma ( I would rather watch grass grow) & Anwar with his overall song choices. I agree with Simon - the songs are shaky but he hits the last big note.

You're kidding right? Fantasia has the most raw talent of any American Idol contestant since the show started. If Fantasia had not won AI last season, the whole show would have been bogus. She HAD to win because she was the American Idol. When she sang "Summertime", people were moved to tears. I don't think anyone in this group (don't get me wrong - they are all good) is going to bring us to tears. The problem with these finalists is that they are all talented, but nobody stands out. Some are better than others, but there is no obvious winner.

It's going to be very interesting to see how it plays out.

ITA. On previous seasons of AI there were like 1 or 2 contestants that stood out from the rest of the crowd. I don't see that this season, well not yet anyway.

I respectfully disagree. I cannot listen to Fantasia. I was not overly impressed with anyone last year.

I respecfully and totally AGREE. Fantasia is horrible and if I hear her on the radio, I quickly change it! I like Ruben a little bit more then her but don't like him either.

I love Kelly and Clay though and own their CDs.

Go Carrie!

I wasn't a Kelly fan until her last CD came out. I thought It was very good. I enjoyed watching her on SNL. I felt Clay should have won AI. Reubun has a good voice but I find him and his music boring. I also like Carrie.

So far the only AI that I liked enough to buy an album was Clay. Didn't watch in year one, but thought that Clay should have won. As for last year - just didn't do it for me so I didn't watch much. I like the mix of this year maybe because there is no clear winner yet. I really like Nadia for the total package. I like Carrie, Bo and Constantine. I've already stated that I like Anthony as well.

As for the others I don't really care though Scott and Nikko are my least favorites.

I think the reason I like Clay and also Anthony this year is that to me they seemed to be what the show is most about and that is listening to and taking feedback and making themselves better performers. I think Simon is right on when he says that Bo seems like he has been doing this for years and years. Hope that makes sense.

FINALLY!!!!!! Someone that feels like I did. I've been trying to catch up to post my thoughts and couldn't believe how many just LOVED his performance. I thought it was awful and I just cringed watching him. And that scruffy beard look does not work on him at all. bleck. It infuriates me that they keep comparing Bo and Constantine. I don't hate him, but I certainly do not see what all the hype about him is. Now..... I can't believe Jessica got the boot. She was definately better than Scott, Anwar, and Anthony. I honestly think Simons "likablity" statement hurt her. I agree that she didn't seem as personable as the others, but I think that is partly the shows fault. They seem to have their own favorites and give us more details on them than others. I don't think I saw anyone bawling about though, like the other two girls. Anyone else notice that?

Oh, one more thing. I just love Simon! I love his straight forward attitude. I was :rotfl: when he kept telling Paula, " I know, and I'M right". :rotfl2:

Well you aren't the only one. I marvel at how he's managed to stay and not be voted off already. What's with the puppy dog routine any way? Get real guy, you aren't a little kid who can get away with that.

I'm saddened to see Jessica voted off. She has really been improving each show and I think that Scott was absolutely horrible the other night and should have been voted off. Shocking that he wasn't even in the bottom 3. At this point, I think it's more of a popularity contest. Sad.

I agree with the others that have posted. I do not care for Fantasia and do not think she has any talent.

I respect that other's like her, and that's fine. If we all liked the same thing, the world would be a boring place.

Whether Jessica was or wasn't going to win in the end (she never had a chance, the producers will guarantee either Carrie or Bo will win) should not matter. The issue is that there were far worse contestants with small pockets of obsessed fans than Jessica who was very talented, but failed to secure a rabid base. There is no way she should have gone home tonight. Just who is voting for Scott? He was miserable!

I vote for Scott!

txaggie94gigem said:
it should have been scott or anthony....whoever you are that are voting for Scott...WHY? He was awful last night and has no personality when he sings...he makes the same moves for every song he sings...at least last week he flung his glasses, that was original...and what is up with him chanting to himself every time Ryan is focused on him on vote night...that is creepy...He is NOT Ruben!

No he wasn't that good this week, so I didn't vote for him. I think the chanting is him praying and thank god he is not Ruben cause then I wouldn't be voting for him.

Does anyone remember Jim Varraros from Season 1? He had this sob story about how his parents were both deaf and they've never heard him sing and signed for them every time he sang, etc. etc. Now I admit, I almost cried when I saw the little "at home" video with the parents, BUT that didn't make me vote for him. I think he was in the competition longer than he should have been because of his background.

Unfortunately, I think the same thing is happening this year. I DON'T GET the Scott and Anthony thing. I know that Scott's dad ridiculed him and he's has a kid and he's proving people wrong, etc. That's fine, but don't vote for him because of it!!! And Anthony with the treach and the moving to America thing?!?! His story is WAY better than the other two. Again, not a reason to vote for him.

I'm not saying that everyone does this (because I know there are people who truly enjoy their voices), but you know as well as I do that there are people and fan bases who vote because of the personal stories. Do you think this may be why they eliminated the little video bios of the contestants? I know Simon used to throw a fit over people voting for the wrong reasons, so maybe they saw eliminating those as a way to eliminate the "popularity" vote... Who knows.

I was shocked last night too and now I'm really interested to see how this competition plays out from here. Hmmm....
