I liked Constatine's performance last night. I also like Anthony a lot. I dislike Bo. He has a good voice but something about him makes me feel really uneasy for some reason.

I'll say it again...how many of today's "stars" do you think would have actually made it through this show? I think it's about more than just singing ability (after all, most "stars" are mixed once they get in the studio to make them sound better). Seriously, consider it...

I agree with you. Though Bo didn't do badly last night.

Not sure why, but Bo kind of reminds me of Mark Wahlberg's character in "Rock Star".

LOL now that you mention it, I can totally see it.... :rotfl:

This was in the Atlanta Journal Constitution paper yesterday, in the entertainment "Peach Buzz" column:

Plucky "Idol" hopeful tripped up by glare

"Former Lawrenceville (GA) resident Janay Castine told Buzz why she looked like a deer in headlights during her "American Idol" performances: no contact lenses. The producers said her contacts were creating problems with the high-definition cameras, so she had to take them out. To avoid squinting, she said, "I ended up looking bug-eyed. I didn't even realize it until afterwards."

I guess she is the only one who wears lenses....... :rotfl2:

I just don't understand the attraction to Constantine!!! :confused3 He's just so greasy!!! My favorite guy so far is Anwar... but I want Carrie to win right now. She's great!!! I'm interested to see if Janay Castine sticks around another week... somehow I doubt it!

Yup, she must be the only one on live tv that wears contacts. Whatever excuse works for her, I guess.

I heard a Rob Thomas/Matchbox 20 song on the way home and thought it would be perfect for Constantine to sing...don't know the name of it, but I think it's new.

Are you thinking of Don't wanna be lonely no more? or something close to it, Im listening to it now on the radio and you might be right, maybe he would do a good job with that song.

Yeah that sounds like a bunch of bull crap to me!

For me, it's Anwar, Bo and Nikko.

My sentimental favorite is Nikko (since I grew up in St. Louis). Anwar and Bo are just plain AWESOME!!!!!

So much more talent that last season!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could be wabbit...could be. I really have no clue what the name of the song is.

Something about Mario I like. My votes are for Mario and Bo.

I like Bo all the way. His weaker performances are head and shoulders over most of the others' best performances IMO.

I don't want him to change his style either. He is a rocker and looks like a rocker and should remain that way if it suits him. He shouldn't change just to look like another pop artist.

I swore I wasn't going to watch AI this year, after seeing the pimping of Fantasia last year, but I got sucked in after the audition shows. I like Bo a lot, but I have to ask - if he is really true to his rocker image, isn't his being on AI a contradiction?

Same here. Couldn't stand the way Fantasia was shown with her daughter. Obviously, we're not the only ones that feel that way since her album tanked.

You are 100% right. It seems like almost all of the extremely successful singers now really aren't that good. Look at their live performances! It's all done in the mixing with the CD. The thing that sells them is their image that they have created.

Case in point.. Every little thing she does is magic by The Police. Listen to Sting's vocals and here how synthasized they are.. almost with an electronic haze to them. Why Constantine picks songs that are so hard to reproduce is beyond me. :confused3 It drove me crazy during the auditions in Hollywood where they were thinning out the contestants to hear these guys pick songs by Queen. Don't even attempt to do justice to Freddy Mercury. You are just going to sound like a poor imitation. :sad2: Pick a song that isn't so vocally original!

After listening to some of the music from his band I was thinking maybe Constantine should try a little Red Hot Chili Peppers

i did not enjoy amanda's performance....could be just that i don't like that song much.
