I really like Scott...but tonight he sucked. I like the song he did a week or 2 back (the one where he tossed his glasses) It gave me goosebumps and I almost NEVER get them over a song...I hope that if he dosn't win (which i don't think he will) that he gets a deal some other way...It could happen right?? :confused3 :goodvibes

I'm just not a Scott fan. I know this is mean, but every time I see him I think about that Seinfeld episode where Kramer is looking for the pig man in the hospital, and I think that Scott could have played that part.

My 5 year old watches all the time with me and when scott came on she said "mommy is he blind"...I said no, why would you think he was blind...she said "well he has no eyes, how can he see if he has no eyes".....I looked at him and she was right, that boy has some odd eyes LOL. I liked him last week but this week he was horrible, I do still like him more than Nikko though, can't stand him!

Well, for the most part, there's one word that sums up last night... disappointing! :p Here's my take on this yawner of a show.

Bo - Love 'em but what was he thinking? He doesn't need props so when he lost the hat, that was a good thing. He should go over to the IdolOnFox boards and read it! Most of his fans are over 35! We tend to like music that at least has some sort of melody. Terrible song choice and a mediocre performance. Score: 3.5

Jessica - Another flat performance from her. When she's got it, she's near the top of my list but last night was blah. And...another song I never heard. I was alive in the 90's, where did they find this material?? :rotfl: Score: 3

Anwar - Off key with a terrible start. He seems to do this on a regular basis. Sure the ending was good and he pulls that off nearly every week but we need the whole song to be good, not just part of it. Score: 2.5.

Nadia - Ah, Nadia was herself again. I would have hoped for a better selection but she did well with what that song had to offer. Score: 4.

Constantine - I really think this type of song is his strongest showing yet. Never once did his voice seem taxed. For the most part he kept the teeny bopper google eyes in check as well. :earseek: Score: 4.

Nikko - Dreadful. Off key. Bad song. His performance on the stage set my teeth on edge. Ewww. Score: 2.5.

Anthony - Liked his new look but for the most part it was a pretty blah offering. Better than many of the others though. Score: 3.5.

Carrie - It would have been hard to impossible to top last week performance of Alone but she came pretty close. For the first time she seems a bit more relaxed on stage. Great song in her first rate country mode. Score: 5.

Scott - The falsetto threw me a bit at the beginning of the song but by the end I was excited to see him do something so different. Not to be picky but I did NOT like the outfit he had on. Looked like pajamas! :sad2: Score: 4.

Vonzell - Like the judges have said, this girl just gets better and better. Anyone who can pull off a Whitney song has guts too. She did a splendid job. One of, if not, her best performance yet. Score: 4.5.

Overall, I thought the song choices were poor. There must be better songs in the 90's than those.

Man... Scott's performance was just painful last night. And Paula couldn't hear pitchy?? What?? I am actually getting embarrassed for her. She is acting so out of it every week. It's like she is in heat or something when Nikko and Anwar sing. You see her in the background standing with her arms raised and swaying.. and she isn't even with the beat.. :rotfl:

Anwar.. he needs to pull something fabulous off. He's not doing as well with the theme nights. Last night was his worst performance. He's never been one of my favorites but I know he has a loyal following.

Bo.. I love Bo but that song did nothing for me. He was good but it was his worst performance so far. Of course it was still one of the better ones of the night so even his worst is far above some of the other contestants best..lol

Constantine.. oh man, when he started singing and I realized what song he picked I was worried but he was AWESOME last night!

If you ask me, I think one of the guys will be going home tonight!

I have to agree about a man going home tonight. We try calling around 1030 EST every week. (the initial rush is over, and the phone bank isn't open for west coast time yet)

We got through to every contestant we wanted to vote with the exception of one. Bo, Anwar, Jessica, Carrie and Constantine... One person that had a constant busy was VONZELL! I've loved Vonzell since day one (voted for her every week), but I think her fanbase is finally coming through. I could not get through for Vonzell.

ITA, didn't even know half of them.

I personally don't like 90's music. I hated the whole grunge scene. My opinion was that punk happened in the late 70's/80's and didn't need to be repeated. Pop songs in the 90's were stuck in a flux as well.

I was around in the 90's, (young married adult) and those songs were poor choices. I'm not a fan of Whitney Houston but Vonzell sang it out the park!

Bo- What was that horrible song? I guess I'm too old for it, but yuck. He probably did a good job for what it was and he is still one of my favorites but... :confused3

Jessica- Wow. There was a part in the middle that was really off key. Kind of boring too. I agree with Simon that there are better Leann Rimes songs. Not her best night. :charac2:

Anwar- I am ready to give up on Anwar. He was one of my original favorites but he hasn't really done a good job for three weeks now. Sorry, Anwar. I was waiting for the "cruise ship" comment from Simon and was surprised when it didn't come. :sad2:

Nadia- One of the reasons I like Nadia is that she sings some "different" stuff. Not Whitney Houston. Things you wouldn't expect. Last week didn't work. I think this week did. I liked it. A little strained, but good. :cool2:

Constantine- OK. I'm starting to really like Constantine. I thought he did a good job with what could be a boring song AND he took a risk by singing a song a woman had a hit with. My favorite for the night. Constantine got my vote(s). :worship:

Nikko- I don't like that song and don't like that style of music, but think he did great. I believe he is proving that he deserves to be there. ::yes::

Anthony- Wow. That was just cheesy. Time for Anthony to go. :crazy2:

Carrie- Even if she doesn't win, she'll have a career in country music without a doubt. Very good. Not Martina McBride good, but very good. :)

Scott- Wow, Scott. That was really bad. What were you thinking? Unfortunately, I think Scott may be the one to go... :worried:

Vonzell- As I heard the intro, I thought, "No. Not Whitney. Please don't do Whitney." But she did a really good job. She looked beautiful too.

:wave2: Who should go tonight: Anthony or Scott
:sad:Who is on their last legs if they don't do better than they did this week: Anwar and Jessica

Couple quick notes:

I want whatever Paula's on. Looks like fun!

I don't think Bo is in this to win anymore, and that's showing in his song choices. (But he's so good, I don't think he could 'throw' a song even if he tried.)

Constantine was awesome, BUT. Ok, h's singing a passionate song about heartbreak, and he's wrinkling his nose at the camera, flirty style. No, no, no.

Vonzell. When she started, I thought "oh it was a decent night, do ruin it with Whithey Houston". Boy, did she bring it home! Go Vonzell.

Anwar, he needs to make the first half of his songs as good as his last half. Every week I think he's blown it, then the blows it away.

Who's off tonight? Anthony, Scott or Nikko.

::yes:: Doesn't everyone agree that Paula is acting weird??!! What's going on with her? :sad2: I was shocked that she couldn't hear that Scott sang off key. I like that she usually tries to build the contestants up and point out something positive, but come on!! And what was up with her stealing Bo's hat - it just seemed weird to me.

Me and DH were joking about Paulas "good stuff". DH said Paula and Randy should switch cups. Was it me or was Simon embarassed by her behavior?

Is Vonzell the one that almost missed her audition because she got on the wrong bus? She is really improving from week to week!

No that was Shunta Worthington. They had a similiar look but Shunta was a bit more "manly" looking.. (hate to say that but it is true)

I was flipping around on the tv and found an old Star Search episode - well not the really old one but the remake with Arsenio Hall and today's female vocalist was Amanda Avila. She sang really well too but the other woman got more stars so Amanda said goodbye. I'm not sure how long ago the episode was taped but she looked just the same.

Two notes:

~ Did anyone else have to close thier eyes while Constantine was singing? Those google eyes he kept making at the camera were creeping me out & I had to close my eyes so I couldn't see him anymore

~ Scott finally had "Friends & Family" there!!

WHY, WHY, WHY ARE YOU EVEN TALKING ABOUT THIS???????? WHO CARES??????? If you're so worried that you might have harmed his reputation, then you can't say that you weren't slamming him for being gay..... This is so totally moronic that this is being discussed as if it is a remotely relevant topic to a singing competition. First of all, you are basing everything on the premise that this is substantiated/factual information that he, in fact, posted. Second of all, I couldn't possibly care less if he did or "is"!!!! I don't recall Clay's allegiances ever being questioned. Hmmmmmm......

Actually, I believe Clay's "allegiances" are questioned quite frequently but I'm with you, WHO CARES?? Orientation has nothing to do with talent. Look at Elton John. That being said, IF it's true that Anwar bats for the other team, I'm so disappointed  I wanted to marry Anwar. But apparently I'm not his type.
