Official all things Princess Half Weekend 2015 thread! DOoneY and offical mErcH on DisneyParksBLOg

Ok I'm panicking! I signed up for the Half yesterday and received confirmation from Active.com. This morning I went on the active.com website and clicked on "My Events" and it says that I have nothing there! Nothing in my order history either! :confused3

Anyone else have this issue?

Active.com owns a few different products. The Disney races show up in a product called "My Active." In Active.com, in the "My Events" screen, you'll see a box on the right side that gives you the option to go to "other products." Click it, and then select "MyActive." Click on "Log In" at the top right, login (my same credentials work), then click on the "transactions" tab. All of your registrations will be under "upcoming."

It seems like you have some insider information!

Do you know how volunteers can see their registration when someone else has made the registration?

In the past, you needed to log in at Active with the log-in id of the person completing the registration, but no one could see their own details or confirmation. The individual's registration was linked to the individual's email. No one could see the info because email addresses and registration log-in identities never match. The person completing the registration couldn't see the info either.

Got that far, but nothing in upcoming. But I have a confirm number so I'm not to worried for now. It's going to take days for them to get all this squared away.
Thanks for the tips on where to look! I will keep an eye out.
Their website is not very user friendly.

Ha! No inside information, and don't know how to get anything else :). I just know this is how I can find my registrations - which I figured out by trial and error.

You can also go back to the rundisney page, and select "registration", then "check to see if I'm registered." You just put your name in and it will pop up - you don't need any additional info.

Umm my star wars rebel challenge is there but my princess glass slipper challenge is not.

Soooo... need some advice.

The Fiancee and one of her best friends were excited to do the 10K race together.

My fiancee is a night shift nurse and her friend obviously works during the day. They obviously had no idea that the 10K would be sold out that quick. At lunch I browsed out of curiosity and saw it was 90% sold out and registered my fiancee and sent a text to her friend.

By the time her friend was able to get online she could not get Active.com to work right and it was sold out.

So now my fiancee is in and her friend is out.

Is it possible for her friend to find a bib someone may be needing to give up because they can't do the race? How should she go about doing this?

If that is not an option, is it possible for my fiancee to sell her bib (obviously at the same cost she paid)? How would she go about doing that?

The first thing I'd do is contact runDisney to see if there are any more bibs released as the registration snafu clears up.

If none become available, check with charities-- there may be a fundraising component, but it would be a way in.

If none of these work your fiancee can defer a year and hope next year's registration goes smoother, but won't get her money back.

I have seen a few bibs for events going for resale on a few sites, and have known people to buy bibs for runDisney events in this manner. Important to note is that Disney doesn't allow this, so if she goes this route it's at her own risk. Usually those giving up bibs (especially at the last minute) are people who get injured past the deferment date and want their bibs to go to use. However, this requires "picking up the bib for a friend" and having a photocopy of their license and signed waiver. I think this is why local people are having better luck selling their bibs, since they are showing up and picking up their own bibs and then handing them over. Personally, I would hate to spend the money and time training to be told that I wasn't allowed to run. I don't necessarily condone going this route, but after having to eat fees for Goofy one year due to injury, I selfishly wish this process was easier and allowed.

I don't know why, but they never show up on active.com for me. Neither TOT or PHM are there, but I do show up on the check and make sure you a registered link on rundisney

NONE of my rD registrations have ever showed up under my Active profile. We're talking years of races, here. If you've got the confirmation email, you're good; don't worry about Active' wacky system.

I second this. All of my local races show up in my Active profile, but since 2010 none of my rD events have shown up.

When I check my registration for W&D through the rD site, I'm definitely registered. I haven't tried with GSC since early registration, but it didn't show up then. I assumed it was too early.

My trav agent has discounted rooms and discounted tickets. So they are out there! Usually cheaper through a TA block than through rd site FYI.

I am considering looking for the room blocks, though I have never done this before so I have no idea their discounts or where to go! I am also considering renting points because the whole princess: thing has me feeling fancy and wanting to stay somewhere equally as fancy. Any thoughts on which option is cheaper?

Edit - In case it matters, I am planning on doing AP's so room only will be needed.

Thanks everyone! I called Active and the guy basically confirmed that Active.com has a weird system but that I'm definitely registered. I also checked RunDisney and my name shows up. Guess it's official!

Thanks! This didn't work though :( It's not showing up there either.

ALL WDW resorts will be host resorts for the Princess, since it's such a large race. :)

Will this include the Swan/Dolphin even though they are not technically "Disney" resorts? If not, can I grab a bus from BW, YC, or BC?

Or, is it possible to drive our rental car over to the 10K start and park in the Epcot parking lot?

Yes it does. We are just lumped in on the Bus loop with BW, YC, and BC.
Last year I made sure I had my park ticket with me during the 1/2 and I walked back through Epcot to my room, it was faster than the bus after the 10K.

I found a local 10K in October that I'm considering signing up for so I can get a better corral assignment (I was in G for 2014 with an estimated <2:30:00 finish time). Shooting for Corral E or better!

Thanks!

I sent an email to Rundisney as I couldn't get anyone by phone.

Deferment may be an option if worse comes to worse.

Thanks for posting your time and your corral, I was curious about how they coordinated. I don't think I'll get any closer than G, but I'm just happy to be anywhere closer than the last corral :P

You're welcome! Here's a link to 2014's corral assignments, for reference. Not sure how much they'll change for 2015. I know that there was a HUGE jump in corrals from 2013 to 2014 (I believe it was A-G in 2013, and 2014 jumped to A-P). I think they lowered the amount of people assigned per corral, plus with increased interest, they needed to be able to accommodate more people.

I just signed up for a 10k here at the end of September. I am not nearly as fast as you, but I'm hoping to move up a corral or two from last year. I was in M without proof of time (mostly because I missed all the local races before winter set in!). This year I'm running with my little sister, and she just finished her first half in under 2 hours! (*gulp*) So, I'm going to run my butt off in the 10k, so when she moves back to run with me, I'm not at the back!

If you decide to sign up, good luck on your race! :)

Does rD move you up in corrals just based on having completed another 10k, or is it based on time? Just wondering if it's worth it to just do a local 10k, even if I'm not that fast, just to have a time and hopefully move up at least one from the last corral!

Good luck to you, too!

It's crazy - during my training runs, I'm able to maintain a 9:30m/m pace, but with all the weaving about I have to do at the start of the PHM, it slows me down to about an 11:00m/m pace.

I was pretty quick (for me) at the 2013 PHM, finished that in 2:26:30, but the weather was VERY different between the 2013 PHM and this year's PHM. I was drenched in sweat by mile 4 this year, so I made sure to stop at every water stop so I wouldn't get dehydrated (which is what happened at the 2012 Wine & Dine, which I finished in 2:31:15, but I wound up projectile vomiting into the bushes when I got back to ASMusic - still wearing my Star Wars costume w/Yoda backpack, lol). Here's to hoping for a smooth race in 2015! LOL
