Official 2021 "Disney After Hours Boo Bash" Thread

Just heard a rumor that Disney may be testing fireworks for Boo Bash later tonight! That would be awesome if they do have fireworks at the event!

ETA: Hmm, just read online reports that Disney confirmed there will not be fireworks at Boo Bash. I guess we'll see what the testing is all about later tonight, or if it even happens...

Are you referring to the fireworks at Magic Kingdom tonight? That’s not a test. It’s the first night fireworks are back. Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Also it’s already been established that fireworks would take place before Boo Bash officially begins on those nights.

Nope, I've been watching ResortTV1's coverage of the first night of fireworks back and they are hanging out to see if there will be testing for the Halloween show tonight. They heard a rumor there about it. Probably not true, but it would be exciting if it was!

ETA: Looks like the rumor was not true... dang!

Fireworks will be there! With Boo Bash, you can get into park at 7 p.m. before the after hours event to see fireworks (I believe Happily Ever After before October and Enchantment during October).

Yep, I was aware of that - just had hoped for special Halloween ones. Apparently a front desk CM told a guest that they would be testing them last night and that rumor went around the MK for a bit. Didn't happen though!

Well, as you watch the fireworks down Main Street there will be glowing Mickey pumpkin heads on the lampposts! Pretend they are part of the show hehe!

That would be fun if there were unique fireworks, but imagine the logistics of having to switch over the show each time there's a regular park close and then AHBB!

I'm on the phone hoping for pixie dust that lets me get two tickets to a sold out date. Is this a crazy waste of an hour on hold? Imagine me using every curse word ever - in the last 24 hours my trip to Disneyland was destroyed by unannounced closures now I'm crossing my fingers and hoping to switch to Disneyworld. Sigh.

unfortunately more than likely a waste

Turns out, yes and no. Yes there's nothing she could do for me. Once the dates are sold out they're removed from her system. *however* she suggests continuing to watch as 'you never' if more tickets will become available as happened a little while ago. I'm wicked curious to know what that means.

People can move their dates freeing up space (like a friend of mine just moved her October trip date to early september due to work, so that would free up 6 spaces since she had tickets for 2 adults and 4 kids), OR we can all get unlucky and Disney can decide to increase attendance levels again. You don't really want the second one.

I was thinking and wondering are they going to already have MK decorated for Halloween in August?

Yep, when I was there right before the first MNSSHP in 2019 they decorated mid trip. I was there one night for fireworks with no decorations, came back the next morning (I think it was one of those early morning events, but I’m getting old and can’t remember, but it was early lol) and *BOOM* it was Halloween

Ok I was thinking they would, but thought August is pretty early for Halloween decorations lol.

Historically they've started decorating for halloween around the first MNSSHP date, but this year might be different because of the 50th...

From the Disney Parks Blog 6/2/21 post: "This fall, the decorations on Main Street, U.S.A., will receive a magical transformation for the event nights in October as “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” begins. Walt Disney Imagineering, in partnership with the Walt Disney World Resort Holiday Services team, will blend a fall look with the enchanting story of Cinderella by creating special pumpkin coach decorations that will add to the park’s sparkling EARidescence during this magical time."

Does that mean they'll be putting up the first halloween decorations then, or that they'll be plussing the regular (and possibly already-installed) halloween decorations for the 50th? :confused3

Well, if they do a Halloween themed event in august with no decorations that would be a real bummer. I think they’ll put up the usual stuff and then plus it up a notch when October/the 50th rolls around.

I agree, and I hope you're right! Vaguely-worded announcements bring out the paranoia in me. 😅

Just guessing here, I'm reading that as Disney will decorate the area nearly the same as usual, but there will be projections on these decorations at night that make them sparkle, shine, even transform visually into other things as the show goes on.

Disney did something similar on Main Street in Disneyland for their last celebration.

I don’t think the Halloween decorations will be as much this year since they will have to put up 50th Anniversary decorations.
