Official 2021 "Disney After Hours Boo Bash" Thread

I just bit the bullet and ordered our tickets online......I just can't miss out on a Magic Kingdom Halloween event, even if it's different than previous years. But wow that was expensive!! I guess no AP discounts since I booked in October. I didn't join the phone craze and just sort of waited it out. I figured it was fate if my date(s) were sold out, but if there was a date available once sales went online, then I would book.

So October 10 here we come! Now I really need a good AP discount on a resort....

Edit: Ordered 4 tickets online (took 10 seconds), got email confirmation immediately, and tickets are automatically in MDE.

So I am now seeing that there will be overlap for Boo Bash hours and regular hours. The last time we did a MNSSHP, everyone ran to get in line at Space Mountain with regular day passes and the line didn't let up until the end of the MNSSHP. I am guessing if you are in a line at the close of park with no Boo Bash ticket, you get to stay in line? That would really take away from lower crowds for part of the Boo Bash.

Wonderful! Thank you!

Is it sad I am maybe excited the most about the food? lol

IF fireworks are back during this time, how have fireworks been done before for an afterhours event?

Fireworks happens as they normally do. Day guests are allowed to stay & get in line until the stated park closing. That does impact a few popular rides for the beginning of AHs as those guests finish up their last rides. However, the secondary rides are walk on immediately. As soon as the park is officially closed, you have to show your band to get in any line. We just avoid the headliners for the first half hour or so.

Exactly!! When the fireworks begin we start mad dashing around all of the smaller rides (i.e. - Peter Pan, Snow White, Pooh, etc.) and get all of those done while the regular guests start clearing out, then we make our way to the three mountains for our evening marathon!

I know many people enjoy stopping to watch the fireworks, I'm one of those "after three fireworks I'm done" kind of person so it's nice to take advantage of everyone else in pause mode.

It's somehow been three years since I did a MK After Hours event (it does not feel that long ago!). When I went, the general rule of "if you're in line at the close of park, you can ride" applied to all rides. I wanted to ride Big Thunder during the fireworks and the CMs had those of us with After Hours wristbands go through the fastpass line since there were still day guests in line at the time (fireworks started at park close). I'm not sure if they will do that again (especially unclear how they will be handling that half hour between closing and the event starting for the early parties - I don't think there was a gap like that at the one I went to). But that is how they handled the more popular rides that still had day guests waiting.

I wish all the parties would have that gap. It really did make some lines longer and even after park close with no fp, it can take awhile to clear a standby line.

I have been to several After Hours events and some did allow After Hours guests to use the FP line while day guests were still in line and other events did not it was definitely not consistent across rides or events. I’m hoping they will do this for Boo Bash events.

Currently on August 10, the first Boo Bash day, the official park close is at 9 and Boo Bash begins at 9:30. I'm sure fireworks will be running sometime during the middle of that so techincally they will be able to filter out all the day park guests before the event begins. I've been to several AH events, a VAH in August 2019 and a regular AH in February 2020 as my most recent, and there were very few day park guests in line by the time the event started. This isn't the same at MNSSHP, and there should be MUCH fewer guests. I remember my last MNSSHP, it was so insanely crowded and they had a very hard time weeding out the day guests from the party guests due to the sheer number of people attending the event. It's just not the same with AH events, and the only time I've had to wait at an AH event for rides is when there is an overlay (or the 30 minutes I waited for 7DMT with my daughter at the end of VAH, but we saved it for the last minute before the end of the event to get in line for that reason). I'm sure they won't extend the closing time due to the event at all since there isn't anywhere for it to go but 30 minutes back, I know for the AH at AK they left that 30 min. between park close and start of the event to clear out day guests, and whlie you couldn't usually get in line to ride rides it was a good time to get a snack or shop while they weeded out the day guests and take a rest before the fun starts.

Just letting everyone know, the boo bash is starting to be seen on third party sites. Don't know the price difference as we got them when it was open to hotel reservations, but it just came up within the past two days.

Well, one site is only about an $8 difference, of course the highest discount with Disney is only $10 for select dates so that’s not bad all things comparable.

I was fortunate and got the 24 September tickets as well. Wife's birthday is on the 25th, so I hope to get in line for The Haunted Mansion at 11:50 or 11:55 and let her start her birthday there. Unless she prefers another ride. Have never done an After Hours event, but have done MNSSHP before. Looking forward to it.

So for those of you going in August, I have a question. Has anyone gotten a dining reservation for say, 730, when your only park ticket is for the event? The Chat cast member says you can. I thought l remembered that for nights of MNSSHP you could not. Thanks all!

With regards to park reservations, you can book any available reservation time in any park that you want to. It's your responsibility to ensure that you have a park reservation to get you to that restaurant. Being that your BB ticket can get you in at 7:00, yes, you absolutely can get a 7:30 ADR with no problem.

Didn't know when the Boo Bash tix were going on sale. Only date we could do was the first one on 8/10 and it's Sold Out. So disappointed.

Do you think they may add tix for the day?

In August the days seem be to be Tues and Friday but there is not on Friday, 8/13, any possibility they add that one?

Should I be checking everyday or is it a lost cause?

So to update on my Boo Bash drama, I noticed yesterday that my credit card still had not been charged for the tickets that I purchased on June 8th. I called the ticketing number during my lunch break, sat on hold waiting for an agent close to an hour (well past my lunch break). Agent verifies my info, puts me on another hold for maybe 20 minutes, comes back says there was no record of tickets being sold to me o_O. The agent from June 8th specifically told me it would take days for me to receive the email confirmation or to see the credit card charge, so I thought nothing of it at the time.

So for all of you maybe had a similar experience, might be worth calling back and confirming. This time I received the email confirmation immediately while on the phone and was able to link the tickets to my Disney experience.

I would definitely keep trying…by phone. I don’t think they’re going to add tickets to a night because limited attendance is a big part of the draw, and when Disney saw the amount of interest they added more dates for the event instead of more tickets per day(guess on my part). However, if there is, for example, a family emergency Disney might allow someone to return their tickets, freeing up space. Also, I was told if I needed to move dates I could, so there’s the possibility of more tickets that way. Either way I’d be surprised if online is updated, so I would recommend calling, especially as it gets closer to the day.

Not. Cool. Thank goodness your date hadn’t already sold out!
