Official 2021 "Disney After Hours Boo Bash" Thread

I'm sorry to post again so soon, but I have a question for MK regulars. How should first timers spend the 7pm to 9:30 time frame? Fireworks are a given....but what should we also cram in those two and half hours?

Any shopping at stores that won't be open during the after hours event. For example if you collect pins, the pin trading outpost in Frontierland isn't open. If you want a special hand bag from main street, that needs to be done before 9:30. Also get any specific food that won't be available after the event starts, like Dole Whips, or the far superior Citrus Swirl. After that, check for any rides that won't be open or any meet and greets (assuming they're back).

I am trying to purchase tickets and got email that purchase is pending then another one that it failed, has this happened to anyone else? My card number is right, there is room on the card also so its not that.

Incorrect billing zip code?

Does anyone know what rides normally are NOT open during the after-hours?

Seeing what not to get my hopes up for!

These are the ones they specify as open:

Some of the Many Attractions Open During the Event:
  • Dumbo the Flying Elephant
  • Jungle Cruise
  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
  • Haunted Mansion
  • Peter Pan’s Flight
  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
  • Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
  • Space Mountain
So that's 8 out of the 20 they say will be open. I'd imagine all Fantasyland rides will be open as well as Tomorrowland. I think Splash Mountain won't be open as that seems like one they would advertise. Does anyone have a list of the MNSSHP rides?

Edit: I found this list for the 2019 MNSSHP. Jungle Cruise was not on it but is on the list this year. So this might be the 20 that are open. If you remove Princess Fairytale Hall (which is currently closed) and add Jungle Cruise, that gets you to 21 so one of these on the list is also not going to be open.

  • Adventureland – The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Swiss Family Treehouse
  • Frontierland – Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
  • Liberty Square – The Haunted Mansion
  • Fantasyland – Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, it’s a small world, Peter Pan’s Flight, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Mad Tea Party, Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, The Barnstormer, and Princess Fairytale Hall
  • Tomorrowland – Astro Orbiter, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Space Mountain, Tomorrowland Speedway, and Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover

I also would recommend attractions that are longer time-wise. I am attending August 10th and plan to at least do Country Bear Jamboree and Enchanted Tiki Room during that time (in addition to getting a Citrus Swirl float). I would like to do Splash Mountain if the wait isn't too long. Maybe Small World and Jungle Cruise if I decide I want to ride either one. I'm personally most interested in how the 30-minute gap between park close and event starting will be handled (I haven't been to an After Hours event with a gap). I'm not personally interested in the fireworks.

Thanks! Let's hope that it's Swiss Family Treehouse that's closed! :D

(Better not be people mover...)

I have tickets for August 24th and don't get me wrong I'm excited.....but I'm also SUPER excited for August 11th and all the trip reports.

Might not have to wait until the 11th if some YouTubers do a livestream on opening night!

I'm in for August 17. Just read through a bunch of this thread and it seems like way too much complaining and "I told you so" by people who aren't even going. Too many Debbie Downers. I want to be excited about this and not read about how stupid I am for purchasing tickets to it!

Be excited with me! I'm going in October and I'm counting down the days. Seeing that dragon is all I need to be happy. I love the Halloween theme and I'm excited about the low crowds. But really.... Dragon. Fire breathing life sized steampunk dragon. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

also you can make dining reservations so if there’s a place you love to eat, you can grab a reservation for it and use it during that time.

Attending Aug 10 and Aug 17. Pre-party goals: meal, Splash, any show, IASW, Jungle Cruise, Under the Sea, astro orbiter. I don't expect to do them all, just these are the ones I'll see if my group wants to do. I'll keep an eye on 7D. If it is at 60 minutes at 830pm, I'd get in that line. I'd be out of it before the party starts, and possibly on it during fireworks (not likely, but I can dream!) Otherwise, I plan to go there at 12:25.

Also, if party merchandise is available before the party starts, I would check it out before the party. (They did this for the Villains After Hours event.) And I guess I have to figure out what the allergy (celiac) procedure for trick treaters is

I'm excited! I never found the actual Halloween parties to be as crowded a everyone said, so I'm sure this will be even better! :D

I don't even have a real plan of attack. The two of us are actually going to go there in the morning/early afternoon -will really be our first MK day on trip - and then back to hotel to relax and meet my brother who is arriving this day.
Then we'll get there around 6 maybe? We all have MK reservations that day (and hoppers) so we can enter whenever, but I think we'd have to go get a wrist band if like the party?

As for party itself, just gonna play it by ear! I'm excited for the Halloween cavalcades, the music, the lighting, the decor, the atmosphere...all of it!

Nope correct. Trying a different card and it’s not looking good. DH tried calling but after 1.5 hrs the 3yo hit the end button when he wasn’t looking 😂.

it’s not a sold out day, tried both of our accounts too .

Hmm, maybe it is sold out but not updated on the website. Or there could be less tickets available than you are trying to buy.
