Have no clue on the numbers side (wish we did), but in terms of comparing DAH to something like MNSSHP, there’s really no comparison at all. The attendance for even the slowest MNSSHP is way higher than any DAH, at least based on the event this year. DAH should be like your party experience, just minus the “Jammed” part. :-)

Have fun!

Oh, that sounds awesome. Despite the crowds we found the MNSSHP to be relatively low on wait times. I think the longest wait was for the haunted house, which is to be expected on Halloween and I think that was only 30 min. Next worse was Pirates of the Caribbean and we didn't actually wait. The line was full but it didn't stop moving. If DAH is less crowded than that I can't imagine the lines being bad at all.

It’s just speculation. But that seemed to be the consensus for 2017. I have a hard time estimating crowds, but 5000 seemed a reasonable approximation on the night I went. It’s nothing like a party... much much less crowded.

Of course, that was 2017. They could have changed the limit for 2018. Or it could have the same limit but just be more popular this year. To our knowledge none of these sold out last year so while 5000ish people went most nights last year, the limit could have always been 10k. Who knows (except WDW peeps). As with anything disney, you mileage will likely vary.

Disney is advertising it as minimal wait times so even if it is more crowded it seems like they must have some max number of tickets in mind to keep that promise. Hopefully it doesn't sell out though. While we are booked, I haven't purchased our plane tickets yet. I don't want to risk it.

So, I was just thinking and realized we don't know the refurbishment schedule for Spring yet. Splash Mountain was closed down all Fall, which doesn't make sense as that is the hottest time when a water ride is needed. Unless they were going to shut something else big down during Spring. What do you guys think it could be? That could totally impact my DAH strategy!

I heard a rumor that Space Mountain would be next fall so hopefully it isn't closed in Spring. It's one of my favorites.

I wonder if the Minnie vans will be available after the event. Last year my only complaint was the bus routes after the event ended. Even if you were staying at one of the Monorail resorts, you had to take a bus back and they grouped a lot of hotels together. It was organized but it took long since you had to make a lot of stops..The ferries were working also but I think for a limited time after the event so your only way back to the hotels was by bus.

Good question. I was just in one Saturday and asked the driver how late they run and I can’t remember what she told me - but I remember thinking it was pretty late.

My hunch is that they will be running. Availability may be the bigger problem, but they’ll be out on property unless they dramatically change the hours that time of year.

I do agree with you on the busses. We were at Poly and the bus from MK to CR to WL to Poly took a moderate amount of time. I was just glad I didn’t have to go to GF!

We stayed at the Poly too! True..I think we made an extra stop because we were the 4th stop and they never told us where we were going to stop or in what order-not such a big deal but with young, tired kids it was kind of a let down after such an amazing night!

It'll be interesting to see if they are available and until what time.. This time we're staying at the YC so it will be a bit further for us. Still soooo worth it :)

We're staying at POP so we won't have the bus sharing problem.

I hope not but you probably will. It's not about the hotel you're staying in but the limited buses for the limited amount of people that attend. They won't have all of the transportation available that's available on a regular closing night. Of course this may change this year if enough people commented on the survey they provided after the event. I know a lot of people were dissatisfied, especially those first dates. I went on the third or 4th date this past year so they had improved it a bit by the time I went but I remember people taken aback by the transportation.

Well hopefully they fix it for next year! We are going to AK the next morning so I hope we can get back to our hotel at a reasonable time.

Would any of you do this on the day you fly out? We're currently booked to arrive on the 30th and the available flight that day is very early. I can't go a day earlier because the flight is significantly more expensive. But I could move our reservation to the week of the 24th and go to DAH on the 26th. But I think that week might be more crowded. I'm just not sure whether it will be a noticeable difference. What would you do?

We've never flown but have driven 7 1/2 hours-left GA around 4:15 AM and my 8 and 10 year old did fine. We got to Orlando around noon, were at the pool for a while and then headed out. It was an earlier closing 8-11. Exhausting but doable!!!

Yeah, I agree with PP-go ahead and do it! Just relax at resort between arrival and DAH!

Thank you both. We're going to stick with the 30th. You're right, there is time to relax mid day. The plane would land at 11:00 am so plenty of time to get in and recuperate for a while.

Can anyone tell me what attractions weren't open during DAH this year (January/February 2017)?
