Safe travels! I hope to be in the van soon for our lengthy drive. DH is on the computer with work stuff, so we'll see how that works.

Couldn't sleep last night in anticipation of our flight this morning!

Same here (well, our drive.) Woke up around 4am. Thought, hope I can do the same tomorrow! I'm sure I'll get even less sleep tonight.

Are the BB8 10k mini medals sold out?

I'd like to know as well. We probably won't make it to the expo til later this after, at the rate we're going.

Anyone run the 5k? How did it go?

Hey gang, I got here yesterday and I didn't think the time difference between east coast and west coast would be that bad but it definitely messed with me a bit. I'm a bit nervous now. Due to an injury and other life mishaps I'm feeling very under trained for the rebel challenge. I'm not going to give up though and give it my best shot.

The rain yesterday was very annoying hopefully that will be the end of it. I managed to spend way too much at the expo yesterday on t-shirts of all things, then had a nice but expensive dinner (for 1 person!) at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen. Today's plan is to casually explore the parks for the first time.

For those who have done this before, I'm staying at the Springhill Suites on W. Ball Rd, right by walnut st. What is the best way to walk to the starting point and what time should I leave the hotel? Thanks and good luck to everyone racing this weekend!

Don't be too nervous. Yeah, the time difference is a pain but not at 4:00am when you're heading to the starting line. At that point you're doing much better than anyone who lives on the west coast.

Actual mini medals or pins made to look like little medals?

I refused to wait in that line yesterday so I don't know. :)

I miss the teensy medals they used to have for vinylmation Mickey.

I'm in the same boat training wise. I don't think that he 10K will be a problem, it's the half that worries me a bit. I just know that if I can get past the 7 mile mark (was the furthest I got at Vegas two months after my scheduled injury before I had to bow out), then I know I can make it the rest of the way. I'm going to do Jeff galloways run/walk method for the min/mile that I'm anticipating to stay around. Just think positive thoughts, and don't let those negative thoughts get to you!

I'm heading over to the expo if anyone else hasn't gone yet. Would love to say hi. Have to find parking at downtown Disney first....

We just finished up the parks for the day. We decided to go to the movies at 1PM to force ourselves to hydrate and stay off our feet before dinner at 5PM. Between movies and dinner, we'll be heading back to the expo to get taped (yes, I know it costs $5 per part or $20 per roll) as I'm having a newish issue with my left it band/glute that is woke me up last night. I rolled this morning (and left it in the bed so I'm sure the maid thought strange things) which helped but want to make sure before the runs.

DH and DS did, and liked it. But because the starting line went the other way from last year they said there were two hills vs one from last year. DS said that people need to be careful going downhill. DH says there were fewer photo ops but they were cooler.

I spectated and missed both of their finishes. Ugh. I'm bad at spectating. :) (I was standing right there at the finish! But I think that as DS finished it was as there was a group of about 7 men who had finished and were standing there waiting for others. They were moved on after about a minute but the timing works for when DS finished)

You'll be golden in the morning though. :) Keep that timechange advantage!!

I'm injured too. Today I taped the crud out of my knee and will do my ankles later. Sigh. It'll be ok.

Well, we are at the new Country Inn and Suites on clementine. We left the hotel at nearly 4:30, walked to Disney Way then to harbor and to the main entrance and through dtd. They took a picture at the trash compactor then moved on to the corrals. Didn't wait long (corral B, which shows that early registration and previous rd events cause good things to happen) and they were off.

And as I walked to the finish from the main pre-corral area, as C was about to go, I saw costumed and bibbed runners sauntering over towards the corrals. DS and DH were so freaked that we were "late" that I quickly texted them to let them know. :)

Yesterday they were taping two parts for $5 and she would have taped whatever DH and DS needed for the one roll DH bought. The kid's already came off, but this kid rejects adhesives. Duct tape for wart removal years ago would come off within an hour lol. DH's kt tape is still on.

We're here at universal. :) We have cheap Costco passes and I needed butterbeer. :)

I'm at the expo right now, and good lord, I don't need official merch that bad! I wanted to check out some of the shirts, but I'll live. I don't remember Disney world being that bad for the inaugural

Boarding plane for short ride to LAX, then uber to expo. Ready for 3rd Rebel Challenge and augmenting the Trader Sam's tiki mug collection!

Just finished the expo. Lots and lots of those mini medal pins and race shirts. Not sure what sold out already since they're not there. Didnt see shoe ornaments, but they came with the prepurchased tumbler pack. Lots of lines to get into official merch but moved quickly. New balance seemed to have a lot of shoes too. Sparkle athletic had very cute sparkly skirts. In and out in about an hour. Not bad. Now the 405....
