What a whirlwind! :earseek:
I was really hoping everything would pan out with CBR+GC+DDPFD. Our dates are Sept 9th-15th so the dates are perfect, but I just don't know if it'll be worth it to stay at a mod with only QSDP and no amenities due to the construction. Back to the drawing board! This was going to be our first stay at a mod with the DDP so kinda bumming about that. I am grateful we're getting such an advanced notice though, gives me time to crunch numbers.

:coffee::coffee::coffee:

What price do u have for CBR? Mine works out to an average of $240 per night including taxes for a Standard. Taking off the $75 gc value and add on $60 to upgrade plan (3 adults) it comes out to $225 a night.

What sort of price are people thinking they'll get for Pop or AoA? I can't imagine it's much cheaper considering you still have to add on the upgrade for the dining plan.
I'd be interested to know!

We are booked at CBR from 12/11-12/17 with the $75 GC (we booked in January). We definitely want the DDP and NOT the QS plan. IF we are able to snag a room at CBR with the QS dining plan, am I somehow able to pay for the meal plan upgrade with our gift card? I know we won't get the GC until the day we check in, so I'm assuming we won't be able to?!?! We have 2 adults, a disney adult, and a disney child in our room, so it might be worth upgrading to the DDP and staying at CBR....
I'm guessing it would cost a lot more to stay at a deluxe with FD. And a value is out....the full size beds would not work for us.

Decisions, decision, decisions......

Pop is about $135 per night that week including taxes.

You're right, it's not a huge difference once you factor in the GC offer. In my view, we were trading staying at a construction zone mod for the price of a value because it included a better dining plan and bigger beds. I guess it boils down to: why bother staying at CBR when you can stay at POP and still have all of the amenities available to you?

Do you think this rumor of Quick service at Mods will make POR less desirable or will it not matter?

You won't get the GCs until check-in, so they won't help you in paying for the upgrade as it will have to be done no later than 72 hrs before check-in. Since you mention full beds, IF the only rooms at CBR that offer FD are the pirate rooms, all the pirate rooms only have full size beds.

The offer of the CBR gift card 75 is no longer available?

Yes that offer is gone. You had to book by some time late in March to receive the GCs.

Is anyone who was planning on moderate still finding it worth it? I can stay off property, pay for dining OOP and save $1,000, plus everyone gets their own beds. I'm wondering if others are finding this worth while.
I can tell you that I haven't booked free dining since 2015, but I had a hard time getting it to come out ahead once they added the hopper requirement. With the removal of moderates for the regular plan, plus adding the hopper plus ticket, I hope people are running numbers. Not that it won't come out ahead for some, but it's got to be getting close to being not worth it.

Adding more restrictions giving less mod options plus a lower plan and offering it so much across December is making me wonder how crowded my week will now be - something just doesn't seem right for the December dates - at least the start especially if there are only a handful of dates between November inclusion

It's definitely less desirable for fd, especially if you're a family of four with two kids who are Disney adults. I just randomly priced out some RR, which are the most likely rooms available for fd at POR. The price with taxes in September for a rack rate room are well over $300 per night. Add on an additional $84 to upgrade to TS and we're easily above $400 per night. If you're willing to do that, you might as well look at Deluxe.

I wondered the same thing, so I ran the numbers just in case. For our trip, FD would be about $330 cheaper than a 20% room only discount. We have two and adults and two kids, who are basically considered adults, for four nights at POP. Now I just hope all my numbers are correct. lol

Been quietly stalking for a while now. So excited for some news! Our dates are good and I booked at CBR a while ago hoping we'd be all set for FD. Just one question - for the 4 day PH minimum, if we are getting 6 day passes is there a way to only have 4 of them be PH to save money? I just really doubt we'll use the PH option with three kids under 6. We haven't in our last two trips. I only even consider FD because we do character meals.

Edit: one kid is only 2 so he doesn't really count for pricing purposes :)

Did anybody notice on that site that they don't have the summer offer like we do they have a offer that is RO discount for that runs from February 27, 2017 to October 7, 2017 for up to 25%

Everyone (except the 2 year old) will have to get the PH.
