Last year, the perk for the Visa Card holders was some additional dates for FD. We use the visa to build up free points which we convert to gift cards to use while at Disney. It is amazing how much they can add up. One other perk that I like is that the cost of the trip is interest free for 6 months.

You are correct and I can't believe I forgot this. Thank you for the correction.

I think I'm in the minority, but I'm DV holder (since 2012) and I have gotten offers for FD and room discounts via snail mail. I can't say what years but I know I've gotten them. I don't mean to add confusion, and certainly wouldn't advise anyone to count on that, but I keep seeing people say they never get offers and that's not my experience.

I've gotten them too. But well after the fact. Any that I've gotten have been when the offer's already been live for quite a while. It's not like they sent advance notice.

There actually was a perk last year. We all got to book at the same time. But the public FD dates started 8/23 and the Visa dates started 8/14. So when I checked in on 8/17, I was able to get FD because of my Visa card. If I didn't have that, I would have missed out on FD!

Correct! I brain burped.

I have an off topic question. I've been buying GCs from Sam's and adding the money to my Disney Vacation Account (trying to squeeze every possible penny). I just realized that if I wanted to cancel all together I probably couldn't actual get my money back. Would I just get GCs? I'm not planning to cancel but this does scare me.

Not sure if this was already asked - what is the upgrade charge for QSDP to DDP this year? it was $19.57 a night per person previously and I have to assume it went up.

I don't know the change off the top of my head but I read $21 adult $4 kids per day.

I've received offers in advance of general public offers. Something like being able to book 5-7 days earlier.

I assumed all DV holders were receiving the same offers. Is that not the case? Does anyone know if there's a DV offers site were we can see everything and not miss something?

2014 I got the DV offer in the mail, it was not necessary as I had already booked.

I was thinking of going to WDW end of September and get a value with Florida Resident price. Can I add free dining to my room under Fla resident rate?
no you can not stack discounts. In order to get FD you have to pay full rack rate for the room and add the required tickets as part of a package.

Yes it is Chase rewards or something a long that line. My wife keeps an eye on it.

So true. I don't have a disney visa but I do know I'm 2014 they got to book early and it was them being notified that let us know (one of the ways) what the exact dates and exclusions were. However, I've heard no one was notified last year

Edited to remove incorrect information. Visa holders did not get to book early but had earlier August dates.
I have a Disney Visa, and often get a brochure in snail mail from VISA about discounts ...usually it arrives much later than is announced on the DIS, or on the Disney Special Offers web page. I've only taken advantage of it a few times, though, due to not lining up with dates, resorts, etc.

Can I switch you cards? lol I wish I had received offers like you. Not one in all my years having DV.

After I posted that I went back and looked. Sheesh! For whatever reason I didn't show any alerts. I thought that was odd. :confused3 Oh well.

Lol. Some are busy I didn't mind the recap. Kids aren't feeling well which means for the last few days we've been in suspended life mode and I'm just taking care of them. I've had extra time. Tomorrow I have to resume real life. Lol.

If you ask for a refund from the DVA, they will put the money back on the same form it was applied - so if it was from a GC, you need to be sure to keep those cards, as they will refund back to that card. Same as a credit card - refund goes back on the credit card.

Thank you so much, it is by far cheaper for us to use all the Fl. discounts and eat OOP. My son would be happy to share an adult QS meal with me.

I've been a DV holder for a few years now and I've never received any type of promo or reward or anything. I've used it to pay for 2 trips, so it's not due to lack of spending! Lol!!! Hopefully one day I'll get something.

Summer prices are that much higher. My room in late November is $105. Goes up like $60 in summer. I'm glad I prefer the time that is value and my kids homeschool so I do get to go when we want.
Oh good, thanks for the reply. We homeschool too and would much rather go later in the year when it's a bit cooler and less crowded.

I thought of this to. I got $200 in GC from Target to make my deposit and the cast member reminded me to hold on to those cards because if I cancelled they would put the amount back on the card. That makes perfect sense but if I have to cancel it would most likely be Financial reasons and 2 thousand dollars in Disney gift cards won't help me. Lol. I just hadn't thought about it.
