AOA is a value. Priced more then a moderate. Love CBR, but with major construction reports are very limited space and may not be included in FD.
Last year we had plenty of warning. I think south americas came out right before ours, with very similar dates.
Tomorrow is adr day for me, no dining plan since I'm just there for 2 days and only meal I want is BOG lunch! Hoping I can get it!
I had no problem getting BOG lunch.....trust you'll have the same fortune!

If you have a travel agent, they would easily be able to help you organize that.
If you don't get overwhelmed planning, that is just fine. Be sure to contact them to request connecting rooms (requests only, Disney never guarantees) :)
Thank you, but I'm kind of a control freak. I want to try to get the FD myself, so I'm not planning on using a travel agent. I am going to request connecting rooms if the FD goes well, but everyone in room #2 is an adult so it's not a huge deal if it doesn't happen.

TI just want to confirm.... In the past FD opened at 4am eastern time right? So I'll be up at 2am mountain. I really hope this happens while my husband is away for work. He already thinks I've lost my mind, if he finds me huddled over spreadsheets and a computer at 2am he may just have me committed.:yo-yo:

Yes, it's 4am eastern. Same here. I'll see you in the funny farm!

Having more than 2 adults in one room does result in a surcharge for the extra adults, just an FYI :)

I COMPLETELY understand about being a control freak with planning for Disney :goodvibes

If I'm taking advantage of the Canadian discounted tickets (9days). If/When free dining drops will I not be able to add on my tickets because it's already discounted? Would I have to do the minimum days required for free dining then just add 5 days at the cdn price?

I'm with you, I don't think I could give up the control to a TA. Especially when I've read that some TA's won't get up early to try for free dining. On another note, isn't there a certain terminology you are supposed to use when requesting connecting rooms? I think it is either "adjoining" or "connecting" but one means having the door in the rooms that opens up and the other just means that they are right next to each other. I remember the last time we went the cm on the phone asked which I wanted. Just wanted to make sure you request the right thing if that's what you were wanting :)

Exactly! TAs may have a lot of clients they are trying to get FD for at the same time, and probably not at 4 am! And you're right. . . I believe connecting rooms have a door in the middle connecting them, while adjoining rooms are just in close proximity of one another, not necessarily even on the same floor. Thanks for the reminder!

So is it possible to change an existing reservation to Free Dining online when/if the dates line up with my existing reservation or do you have to call in?

It could be possible if you have a change button (see a couple pages back for details of how to do this.) and if the site isn't being a mess. You could also create a new reservation and then cancel your old one if the $200 isn't an issue for you (you'll get it back as long assuming your trip isn't too close but could take a little while.)

This will be my 1st time trying for FD, so I'll let you know! :mic: Hopefully it will be easier to get a couple of rooms at Sports or Music as opposed to a mod. And if this doesn't work, our back-up plan is to stay onsite at Universal! We are pretty much locked into our dates because I bought the airline tix and because I don't want to take my youngest out of school, and other obligations. . .
I booked two rooms at POP last night and the CS said that if you are a family and parents and children are together that they guarantee connecting rooms. It shows on my res. That rooms are connecting. WHEN free dining drops it should work fine because both rooms are under one reservation.

Well today was my ADR day and I was able to get BOG dinner with no issues. Hopefully free dining will go just as smoothly.

When I made my ADRs a few weeks ago I was able to get BOG dinner too! I was shocked! I also had a dream last night that I was on the phone trying to get FD.. stressing out even in my sleep

If you've already bought your Canadian tickets, I would just buy two day tickets as part of the FD package and save those two day tickets for another trip. I wouldn't combine both sets of tickets on one trip. That would be expensive. Is that what you mean?

I know many get up and cram for the 4 am FD"....over the years I've always gotten the FD later in the day.....week or month. I have switched to other resorts after booking as I keep my eyes open and my TA does also. I also never book until FD comes out....as I might not go if it doesn't. If we fill rooms with people hoping, it shows Disney they don't need to have it for certain resorts if rooms are almost full. If you are going anyway, book away, if it's just to switch to FD, I'm not sure it's an afvantage, especially if changing resorts. Just my 2 cents as I have always waited and got the FD I wanted.....that being said, I love these threads and love hearing the stories. Fun times with the excitement building each day.
