I was up off and on all night. This was almost like the week before FD! I was able to get BoG for lunch! It was only available on one of my days.

I don't know what I would have done if it wasn't available for the dinner we wanted. It was our only must do table service restaurant and I only needed two ADRs. Our other MK day is a party night so it would uave thrown a huge wrench in the plans.

This is so sad, but I set myself an alarm for when it's 7am Orlando time (I'm in Australia) as I have to add an extra day to my reservation (yay!:)) and when the alarm went off just now I got soooooo excited!

Because I'll be speaking to Disney.

After sitting on hold for 30 mins probably.

Sad. :cloud9:

Ok this might be a complicated question; I have a package booked with the modify button available; if free dining comes out in the middle of my reservation is it easy to switch the dates as well? It seems like changing to free dining works easily, but I'm not as sure about the dates. Has anyone modified in the past both the dates of the reservation and the FD? Thanks in advance!

Loved it!

I'm pretty sure you have to call to modify your dates. You can't change them online

If you've already bought your Canadian tickets, I would just buy two day tickets as part of the FD package and save those two day tickets for another trip. I wouldn't combine both sets of tickets on one trip. That would be expensive. Is that what you mean?
I've purchased my cdn tickets as a package with my room and dining. I've heard that because I already have a offer attached to my package that I wouldn't be able to "add" another deal (FD). So I believe I have to buy tickets at full price in order to qualify for FD. Hope that makes sense. Thanks

Is it hard to get 2 rooms for FD? Would you put them both under the same name, or each one under a different adult in the party? I've never rented more than 1 room before.

I hope not! We need two. One for our family of five and one for the ILs. We're hoping for CS but if that doesn't work out may do Pop but we'd have to put one of the kids with them.
We are going to do one on our acct and one on theirs. We have their log in info and will hopefully do it simultaneously!

TI just want to confirm.... In the past FD opened at 4am eastern time right? So I'll be up at 2am mountain. I really hope this happens while my husband is away for work. He already thinks I've lost my mind, if he finds me huddled over spreadsheets and a computer at 2am he may just have me committed.:yo-yo:
Don't worry, we'll come break you out...just make sure you get your package booked!!!

That's great that it was the transformer and not the pump! Ours is the pump and because the ground was frozen (now completely muddy and still a bit frozen and it has been raining all day making the ground much worse))" nobody can fix it yet. My hubby can't pull the pump out. It's completely stuck. We have a temporary fix but pretty much without water unless my hubby turns on he temporary pump to use. It sucks in air which is why we can't use it al the time. So we can't do laundry or run the dishwasher yet. :(. It's been extremely stressful. I am so thankful he agreed to do a disney trip later this year so I have something good to look forward to!! :)
Thank goodness for the Disney trip...a little reward for all your suffering! I hope the ground thaws for you soon.

I believe they knew a few days in advance last year. There is always a possibility of Disney springing it on us out of the blue, but there are posters here that seem to be "in the know" and very reliable.
I looked at last year's posts, people knew the Friday before the Monday it was released. So a whole weekend of banter, including all night long on Sunday night, until the boards went down at 4 a.m. for nightly clean up. Then some folks made a face book page so they could keep talking till the boards went back up. It was a marathon!

Starting my morning catch up on these threads, lots of activity since yesterday....Maybe it's a sign LOL! My daughter is a yearly visitor and my TA for these trips. She said it really doesn't make any difference if you book ahead, unless you are planning on staying at that resort, for those dates, no matter whether FD comes out or not. So it seems there is no advantage to booking ahead, unless this is the case. My fear is that if there are no available rooms for the FD, you could get stuck having to book a resort that is more expensive than you originally planned, and still have to pay for food.

You probably will not be able to keep the discount on your tickets. Free dining will require at least a 2-day, park hopper (and perhaps more) at full price. Now, whether you can then upgrade that 2-day to what you have now remains to be seen. I know in the past, military here in the U.S. could get free dining with the 2-day ticket and then upgrade that ticket to the discounted Salute ticket, so you should be able to do the same thing as long as the total price for the ticket you want is more than the cost of the required ticket for FD. Does that make sense?

I've been following along all week but have gone quiet for a bit. It's been one heck of a week. The only thing that kept me going was dreaming of our trip :) Here's to hopping for some great news and pixie dust to close this week off on a high note. Come on FD!

I think this is why people end up being able to get FD later. People book resorts in hopes of FD. Some book multiple hotels and multiple dates. So once it releases and people start cancelling them more rooms open up. And like someone else said, if all these rooms are booked for certain periods then Disney may not release FD for those times due to resorts looking busy.
Why can't Disney just make this easy for all of us and give dates way ahead of time!

I have a question. Can I be logged in to MDE on more than one devise? With all the talk of the site working on a phone but not a laptop, etc., I'm hoping to be able to be signed in on my laptop, iPhone and iPad when FD drops. Can I do that?

Did you reserve it for later in your trip? We're there several reservation times available to choose from? And did you do it from your computer or by calling in? Sorry for all the questions but want that bog dinner as well when my adr time comes
