Ok, talked to my TA this morning. She said she knows there's a lot of chatter out there. She's expecting something to be dropped around the first week of April. She hasn't heard anything specific or official, just what she's kind of watching for.

To everyone who's stressing about not being able to modify an existing reservation, is there a reason not to just book a new package when FD drops and then cancel this original reservation? I understand there's the issue of making a second deposit, but that will get refunded/credited. Is there any other reason not to just make a new reservation? That's what I'm planning to do. But I see so many people worried about not being able to modify, I'm afraid there's something I've overlooked!

The places that my family (fam of 5) can book are limited. It actually shows little to no rooms for my dates. There would not be a room to book on a new reservation for the resort and category I need.

I have a reservation with old ticket prices, water parks and more, and CBR is booked during my dates which also means the $75 GC currently. So unfortnalty for me I don't feel comfortable to just to rebook a new reservation. Every situation is unique and that is mine.

But having that existing reservation doesn't mean there will be FD offered for exactly what you want either. Either there will be FD rooms available or there won't. Having a reservation already has nothing to do with it.

I'm watching this thread for FD. If I wanted my in box filled with alerts for how much people love Beauty and the Beast I'd follow that thread.
In fairness you don't have to get alerts sent to your inbox, you can come check the thread like everyone else. Last years threads were full of chatter and friendly posts. It's a way to pass the time. There's no way to control it any more than repeat questions. It's the nature of the thread.

I understand that. I got it this way last year though, so it worked for me. I was simply answering your question as to why people couldnt just make a new reservation if the modify option was not there.

I don't think free dining here in the US is going to be offered into waves. From what I have seen every country is being offered different things for free dining through Disney. Last year I saw Canada has offers and the UK offers and they were different. But until Disney releases the information on free dining everything is just a guess right now .

Me neither. I have to book flights the day they're released by southwest or I will pay a ridiculous fare....

I'm watching airfare creep up too, and having to buy 6 tickets - well, a small increase adds up to a big increase quickly!

I'm resigned to it being another 6 weeks before they release FD, but I hope not!

Ugh, same. I've mentally anchored myself in at an "ideal" price on SW or we will drive. Why am I so frugal cheap?

Same boat here. Just hoping they will offer FD to CBR
