Ok so I was looking more into the ROL dining package and read the following:

  • Graze on a bountiful buffet brimming with African flavors at Tusker House Restaurant in Harambe. Please note: While this dining package is available for all meal periods, Guests must arrive to dine no later than 2 hours and thirty minutes prior to showtime.
So if I did breakfast whst time would I have to be at ROL for seating? I didn't realize you could do breakfast then have your afternoon/day open for park fun

I was planning on a Monday to be at AK and already had planned on using Tusker House as a breakfast. But now that I am seeing this, I wonder if I should use it for the dinner package. Will the characters still be at the dinner if you do a ROL dinner package? Anyone with info would be greatly appreciated. Our 180 days is Monday morning and I am just finishing up some planning. Thanks!

ROL dining package is not just for dinner-you can do a ROL breakfast. Characters are also there at every meals so whichever time you want to eat three you could get a ROL package and characters for only a small increase of price-an increase that is covered in the cost of a TS credit making it a good value, especially if you were going to eat there anyway.

Be advised though-if your 180 day Monday then ROL dining packages are not out yet. ROL dining packages are only out through September 30th for now. I am waiting for an October 1st dining package so I feel your pain.

I think we'll try Tusker House but not purchasing the dinner package. Going to FP ROL.

My retriever seems to enjoy mud season.:scared:
Oh my goodness. I feel your pain. I have two, and a giant swale (think ditch) in my backyard that is for drainage. Someone down the street has filled theirs in though and now it's not draining. The neighbours and I have mud pits. My husband and I have towels piled by the back door. We clean our Labs off at least 10 times a day and they often get taken straight to the tub. They are also shedding. My floors are mud and hair all the time and I'm vacuuming and mopping twice a day. I refuse to limit my dogs being able to go out, they love playing in the yard. So it is what it is.:scared:

OMG...I don't know if I could take it. I don't have a dog but I almost couldn't get out yesterday, even at the end of the driveway. I'm hoping plopping down several sheets of plywood will hold the car up...LOL!

I always find it hard to try and plan meals at HS too. I don't mind the the TS options but they aren't my favorite. The CS is awful in my opinion. We used to get sandwiches from Starring Rolls but they closed that down so now I don't know what to do for food there :(
We often find ourselves with the same dilemma. I picked Trattoria Al Forno for our DHS day on this trip. We will leave for a mid day break, eat lunch at the resort, come back that way for a dinner reservation on the Boardwalk and then boat back for Fantasmic. It eats alot of DHS time, but we are finding much to do there for a full day these days anways.

So I am now just learning about River of Lights. I am assuming it like the Fantasmic Dinner Package in that you eat and then after go to your VIP seating area. Is it worth it to use a TS credit on this? I was planning on a Monday to be at AK and already had planned on using Tusker House as a breakfast. If your 180 day is just coming up, then you might run into the same problem I did with the ROL dining package. I had picked a Monday for our AK day, however when the other day the ROL dining packages were released they were not offered every day. They are only on there every other day type of thing and Monday was not one of them. Some are wondering now if in the fall they will be cutting back the ROL showings from every night to every other night. Go look at the ROL dining package dates on the dining page to see what I'm talking about. I ended up deciding to just FP ROL instead because I couldn't rework it from the Monday since I had ADRs on other days. I don't know if they will open up more dates or end up showing ROL every night, I'm hoping so. But Disney is so slow in releasing show times and dates. Hope this helps you plan.

My parents are rural and their driveway sinks every few years. The joys of country life!

I wish I could find a fabulous place to eat in HS. We just avoid eating dinner here. There are so many other really great places to eat. Apologies to those who enjoy it.
Prime Time is pretty good and the staff is very funny. We did so much laughing when we had lunch there in February.

Hi all, wow thanks for the answers so quick.
I did not know I could order different sides. Thanks for that information. That just made the BD easier for us.

FD would give me more to work with but even without FD we will go to the same amount of places. We will need to pay oop for a few things. We are taking the dinner show (bbq or Hawaiian) off our list. He gets Brown Derby, I get Castle, and we are going to check into Ohanas for the Hawaiian type flavors. (My mom and DH's aunt both lived in Hawaii for some time.

We think it may be best to pay oop for the Rapunzel and Poohbear one in MK hehe. (if we keep them.)

My ADR date isn't until June and I'm already starting to fret over it. We are traveling with my in-laws this trip and I want them to have a good time, too. I'm hoping we can agree on all of our TS meals...if not, I guess we can break up for short times each day for meals.

I have the dining plan already budgeted for, but if we can snag FD, it would pay for extras for our trip... like the Candlelight Processional Dinner Package, our few days we are spending at Universal, tickets to MVMCP, etc...
