Wow! So many theories. We should all be in the detective business....LOL. I really believe it all has to do with how many rooms they have vacant, or speculate they may have vacant...thus the need to entice more people to book these rooms. If only my crystal ball wasn't so dusty! I'm hoping everyone gets what they want and need to be able to vacation this year. And...I hope everyone has a backup plan that they can fall on if the offer doesn't match your dates (speculating that there will be an offer). I'm here with you all, sprinkling Fairy Dust into everyone's dreams and wishes!

When I go online to check rooms for my date thru Dinsey their is limited rooms but if I go to a site that sells rooms for the same dates their is almost every room type available.

So speaking of MVMCP, I've never been to a party before. If we do a Tuesday party, can we make FP from 4-7 before the party in advance with just the party ticket? I know I read that there are no FP for the party times. Also, from those that have experience, what are the lines typically like?
Yes, you can. See the info from the thread on Fastpass+ faq...

- FPs cannot be scheduled during hard-ticket events such as Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, or Night of Joy. However, party tickets can be used for scheduling FPs during the party’s 3-hour grace period from 4:00p to 7:00p. Note that in past seasons Disney has canceled any FPs whose windows ended at 6:30p or later, therefore it is recommended to schedule these 3 FPs back-to-back between 3:30p and 6:30p. These FPs are not in addition to the 3 other FPs that a guest may already have scheduled that day using a regular park ticket, since the MDX system allows a maximum of 3 FPs per guest per day per account.

:offtopic: but Free dining and Christmas parties also affect my flights. So I was wondering has anyone had trouble with flights and bought one-way tickets?
(Ie I am thinking of buying my southwest tickets in two transactions because I can only use so many gift cards on one transaction. So If I make 3 one way flights from phx to mco with my gift cards.) Then I could make the next 3 one-way flights home. )
I don't see a difference in one way vs round trip.

I had to make one way flights two years ago when I had credits to use along with gift cards. Couldn't do it all in one transaction.

Last year is not indicative of this year - this year has a whole new finally technologically advanced immersive land and a whole new park from a competitor...pushing the parties and food and wine (along with the bennies they've already given for the renovation) is probably what Disney hopes keeps them full this fall....

What renovations are being done in the fall and which resorts? And what bennies are they giving?

The expired bennies for the Caribbean Beach Resort since it lost its restaurants and other facilities during the reno - it was a $75 gift card/night or a movement to a usually better resort at the same price...

The main ones are Coronado and Caribbean. No benefits for Coronado. CBR offered upgrades at another resort or gift cards, but the offer has ended now. You had to have booked by mid march to have taken advantage of it.

Been a Disney visa holder since 2003. Have never gotten ANY notice of ANY cardholder perks.
It's irritating because sometimes I get the email and sometimes I don't. The best info is the disboard and this thread.

Thank you both :)

Just thought I'd share this in case it helps anyone. I was on the phone with a cast member and talking about how to make an online change to a reservation. He said that two things would prevent you from being able to modify a reservation...one is Memory Maker and the second is Magical Express. He said that if you already have either of these 2 things on the reservation, you wouldn't be able to modify the reservation. Not sure of the accuracy of this, but wanted to pass it along in case it helps.

That makes sense. We drive so we never have ME. But we've had Memory Maker on previous trips. Would that affect future trips? I mean, once you have it, do you always have it? Or is it something you have to purchase every trip? Sorry for the confusion, I've just never really understood how it worked. Thank in advance.
So if MM stays with you, then that's probably why I don't have a change/modify button on my reservation. If it doesn't stay with you, then I have no idea. Because I haven't purchased it for this trip. So then...I have no clue. I guess I'll just call and hope they can help before Monday gets here.

You have to purchase MM each trip. The appearance of the change/modify button is a mystery for many. Some don't have it, some do, and those who do, sometimes it doesn't function properly. Some people have even said that they have it one day, and the next it is gone. :worried:

I've been able to book FP for the MNSSHP for the past 2 years. I line up by 3:40pm for right at 4pm entry into MK. I try to book my FP to fall betw 4-6:30pm at the latest so I can do those attractions but then be completely free to enjoy the party. I try to be in front of the Haunted Mansion for 6pm to catch Madam Carlotta's show on the front lawn. I then walk quickly to main street or the hub to get a good viewing spot for the parade. The parade is a highlight if not the highlight of the party. It all depends on your priorities. Some guests love the character meet & greets so spend most of their time doing that. Others mostly do the rides. I love the HM and its outside perks plus the parade.

Thank you. I was just trying to make sense of it all. I guess there is no rhyme or reason as to why some have it and others don't. I'll just call and see if they can add it to my reservation. If not, then on the day FD drops, I'll be on the phone at 7am with a thousand others like me. :yay:
