No you do not need a valid park ticket for that day so you could take the day off and visit DS or hang at your resort!

Prices haven't been released yet but last year a child's ticket ranged from $74-100 and adult from $79-105. The exact price depends on your party date and whether you buy in advance or at the gate.
Can I pay for this with my CBR gift card?
Is it worth the cost and time, what exactly happens at this party?

OK guys I've been doing some digging and looking at historical drop dates of promotions, mainly between summer RO discounts (like the one that dropped on 3/27 ) and the time between that promotion and when FD has dropped. So, in 2014, Summer RO General Public RO discount dropped on 3/17. FD for the public dropped on 5/7 for a difference of 7 weeks and 2 days (both promotions were dropped for Visa card users before GP could get it). In 2015, RO discount came out on 3/23 for GP and FD came out on 4/27 for a difference for 5 weeks. FD was the only promotion not offered to Disney Visa before the General Public. In 2016, RO discount came out on 3/14 and FD came out on 4/25 for a difference of 6 weeks. Again in 2016, Disney Visa had an advantage to most offers a few days prior to the general public except the FD promo.

From my perspective, based upon this information (and I could be totally wrong) but Disney will not give Visa cardholders first chance at FD for 2017. I also think it will drop sometime between May 1 and May 17 (my guess is around May 1). April 17 is only 3 weeks since the last promotion and the time between promos have rarely been dropped so close between one another. Again, I could be completely wrong, but this is based off the historical drop dates of Summer discounts and Fall discounts for 2014-2016.

It appears we are coming around the bend. Lol. No offense meant to your deductions but this was discussed when the summer discount dropped.

The only problem with any deduction is that so many other factors are at play. The April 10th date has become popular because of historical data based on U.K. Offer releasing. Then we have data based on party dates and then their are those based and now other things, such as a Brazilian website and a Canadian one.

None of these dates and data all match up so who knows!

I think the only thing we can agree is that it is all conjecture at this point. You (general people) can either watch like a hawk as some of us are, or you can just hear about when you hear about it. That's about the only two options. Lol!!!

I would agree with this guess. Although Visa cardholders have not had the advanced time to book recently, they do have a different inventory of rooms than the GP. I know last year for some dates/rooms there was no GP free dining available, but you could get the same package with the Visa discount.

We went to MNSSHP in early September 2014 and it was amazing! We walked onto Peter Pan, were the only people in the boat on splash mountain and rode 3x without having to get off! It was the best!

I appreciate all these theories. I award everyone a PhD in Disneology :)

Talked to my TA and I have booked the Summer Room Discount at ASM and added on the Canadian Resident Ticket Offer and it's $447, cheaper than the Savory Summer Offer.

I can't decide between the two offers. The only expensive CS meal I have planned is a BoG (breakfast). I don't drink soda so water, iced coffee or the odd powerade is all I would drink. But if paying oop I would just ask for a cup of ice water. Still iffy if dessert is included in this offer. I can't get the pdf to load.

$447 is $47.74 per day in food for my niece and I to eat. Most CS meals are $10-15. BoG will be $24 per person, but the savings over the other 9 days should easily cover the extra for this. Not the greatest with numbers but I'm leaning towards the new discounted offers being the better deal for me.

She said she would double check for me about the cost to upgrade the Savory Summer Offer to QSDP, since prices have changed since booking.

Okay so your new plan is $447 off the other offer. I don't see 1 QS meal for 2 people being a value of $47 a day. Stick with your new room discount. You made the right decision.

Technically you could pay for it with them (I am also booked at CBR with gc) but the issue would be timing. I don't know when we actually get the gift cards. I imagine it won't be until we pay off the balance closer to the date, or possibly not until we check in.
Which may be too late to get a ticket for the party as they're sometimes sold out.
Hmm. Good question.

Right!?! I'm truly in the camp of we can theorize Til the cows come home but we won't know until it drops or an insider tells us something. That being said, given my free time right now I will stalk like the dickens and be ready to ride out and declare "free dining is comin!!!"

All communication has stated that the gift cards would be given at check in.

Only other question I have is with the park tickets (Canadian Resident Offer) will I still be able to book my FP+ at the 60 day mark?

Oh, and we were both confused as to why last time we got a much higher price. Not sure why this morning I decided to re-price it and got the same prices I originally did. The best we can figure is we both added in tickets twice, to get the higher price.

This is a good question... I just e-mailed Disney to ask about this. I will let you know what they say!

The deal for summer that was just released was not near as big of an offer as free dining it was also very limited. Most people booked the meal summer deal that was released earlier. In fact Disney is hardly even advertising the summer offer now so I don't think it will have a large bearing on free dining.
What summer deal are u referring to? You had to book the QS summer offer months ago, and it did extend into August.

I was told $ 25.79 for adults and $ 10.52 for kids to upgrade from the SSO to QSDP.

My husband took me to WDW for our honeymoon in 2003 and twice with our boys in 2010 and 2012. This time he said he is done, so he is staying home. This trip is my boys, and I. I don't like traveling without him but if the choice was that or stay home.....I'll miss him terribly. :rotfl:

Love it!

But just saying...men have been known to change their mind. Might just want to secure ADR's for four people rather then three it's actually easier to omit him from your ADR:ssst:
