So dumb question...but historically, did POP require a specific room type for FD? I know PH was required, but I prefer a standard room...quiet is more important to me than pool...hoping for back side that faces Hourglass lake. Anyway, I've got a preferred booked because I assume they want you to have the more expensive room type. I am hoping to click the change reservation button and chose the FD option when (if) it drops for my dates...hoping my room type is okay so I don't have to change too many things...experience or thoughts?

There were standard rooms available last year at Pop. But the standard rooms do go first.

I'm not sure why I feel compelled to share this, it's not something I usually talk about, but the reason this trip is so important to me and my family is my daughter was recently diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. While there is no cure, she is undergoing treatment and we are hopeful that she will get better. But I booked this trip to give her, my sil, my dgs, and myself a chance to go to our happy place and make some good memories. Disney World has always been our fav vacation spot. Even with insurance her copays and other out of pocket expenses are costing a lot, so if we can get free dining it would free up some money for other things, especially MNSSHP.

Definitely thoughts and prayers for your family. Blessings on your trip! It will be a wonderful time!!

I was thinking of another thing that might help some of you out. If you have kiddos that are big eaters and would rather eat off of the adult menu, you can change their ticket to a Disney adult ticket and just pay the difference which usually isn't very much, like 20 dollars or so, and then, they get the "adult " dining plan and don't have to order off the kids menu at table service restaurants.

Just to follow through...it's not as easy as just getting them an adult ticket. You have to manually change their age to an adult (10) on your reservation. Once you do that, you will be charged the adult price for their tickets and they get the adult plan.

Memory Maker is priceless IMO. First time we had it, was for our group of 13, I was able to link it to all of us on MDE. Owning the pictures at no additional cost is awesome. Using the Disney filters is a blast too. We edited maybe 50 pictures in there. Then I downloaded all 778 pictures! It include some ride photos and videos! As long as I'm at Disney with my kids, I will always get MM.

Thanks! I know I've needed one in the past, but it's completely booked for late September so I didn't know if it was because they were "really" booked or if they didn't do reservations for lunch anymore. Last time we were there the server was following us around with our food, tracking our MBs while we were looking around, lol.

Just a couple of days ago there was some. I was looking for someone on this thread and they needed dinner and breakfast and lunch was available. I know that doesn't help but I guess in my thinking is if you just missed it maybe someone will change and you can snatch it up. Make sure you try Touring plans ADR search if it has BOG lunch, I'm not sure.

:offtopic: I'm going to put my two cents in here. Living is great and a necessity (duh). But, you know what? I believe you "buy" experiences. You don't rent them. Experiences make life worth living. That's how I was raised. I feel bad for these people who feel like they do everything in their life just to keep up with the Jones' and say "what's the point, worry about real life". My first trip to Disney with my family was in 2004 when my son was almost 10. To this day I can tell you all about that trip and he can, too. It brings a smile to my face just thinking about it. But I couldn't even begin to tell you what I bought material-wise in 2004, if anything. He and I went to Vegas last fall, his first time. He'll be able to tell his kids when he's my age "I remember the first time I went to Vegas with my dad...". I'll remember those, and other "experiences" like those, the rest of my life. My DW had never traveled until we got married. No weekend trips, nothing. Lived in the same house her hole life, same old same old. She's not going on this trip, but now one of her stipulations for letting my DS and I go this trip was that she and I still do our weekend trips through out the year. LOL She looks forward to them, makes life worth living. In my opinion, if you don't "do" Disney or other experiences like that, you haven't lived life.
Couldn't agree more!!!!!!!

Technically no, you'll just be standing in a long line, but if you do get a res you can also preorder your meal, it is so nice just go in scan your MB and find a seat and wait for the magic to happen!!!

I don't believe there is a line for people without an ADR. Everyone has to check in at the little "hut" just before the bridge. If you go there and ask if there is any availability, you will probably be told, "sorry, but no."

Just keep trying to get that ADR all the way up to the day of. You can also split up your party and look for smaller number of people. Snag an ADR for

My suggestion would be to ask at BOG when you arrive at MK, someone else on this board was able to get a reservation by doing that; also I managed to book a lunch reservation at BOG the night before at our hotel on the Disney App; guests cancel reservations the day before as they do not want to be charged for the reservation the next day :D

Yes maybe it has changed, I know the last time we were there we checked in at the hut and there was probably a 100 or more people in line, because we had an adr we were brought to the front of the line, a couple years ago we got to be part of the test period of the preorder thing, they let us in before opening and we had the place to ourselves for about 10 minutes, it was so neat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pixiedust: I hope you get FD and have a magical time!:) Sending prayers and well wishes for your DD!!!

No, I booked the Savory Summer Deal. I thought now that the room discounts are out for my dates and the Canadian Ticket offer would be better than what I had booked. I thought I had selected the Canadian tickets, but I didn't check out, so they weren't added when I posted about it a few days ago. It looked like it was a better deal but really wasn't since the tickets weren't added onto the discounted room rate (which is still higher than when I booked a few months ago with the Savory Summer Offer). So far, nothing beats the Savory Summer Offer for me. Not sure FD, will beat it either since rack rates are higher, and tickets have also increased. Will check though when FD is announced.
I understand now! Last time when we booked before prices went up I checked the RO offer for our dates and the price was similar to what we already had. This year I did the same in case they don't offer FD at POR.

Nope, not Florida, north of Boston but I was wondering the same thing--maybe somehow my reservation got categorized improperly or something. Like I said, I wouldn't worry so much if the CMs could give me some answer--they tell me "idk. It's just the computer system". Hey, maybe it will end up helping me out. Any deal or discount I can get I'll take it. I just don't want to get to my ADR day and have issues. With all the planning we do, I'd hate to miss out on things we really want.

I think it means Table Service. X means it's the deluxe plan.

Nope just switched around and rebooked as quick service. Same code still there

I was wondering about this. My youngest son is 13 so I'm already paying for the adult ticket, but my dining plan says "child". He's not going to eat off the kids menu!!!

"Child" was also listed on my mom and 17 yr old brother's package (it is on mine too but we have a child). TA said that was just how it's always listed.

I also have "TBX" on mine. I'm not from Florida, and not on deluxe plan. It's been there since we first booked, stayed after we combined two reservations and switched resorts, and is still there now that we have added a promo.

Ours also says "MYW package + dining$TY" and I have no idea what the "$TY" means.

I know what you mean! Last year we did BOG breakfast and we were the only ones in there for a little while. So cool!!!

I don't know what it really means but to me it looks like "Money Thank-you"!:teeth:

Wow, you got a bunch of codes to figure out. I finally broke down and called dining. The response was (a) "it could possibly be a code for a promotion that is no longer available" (I don't buy that cause I just made the res about 3 weeks ago) or (b) "it could possibly be a code for a new promotion that is set to come out BUT that could be a room discount so it doesn't definitely mean free dining" (now it's sounding a little better) or (c) "I don't really know though cause there is nothing in the system about it at all". So, not really any better off after the call than before. I'll continue to share whatever I find out.

Wow sending lots of pixie dust for your family. pixiedust: Good luck. *hugs*

I've never even thought to try and do it myself. I've always just called and had them do it :) good to know though!
