I hear you about the food, nothing too exciting but....it is the quietest restaurant in all of the parks. I can totally relax here, so for me, it's worth it. And they do have delicious lava cake for dessert.

Totally get it. Exactly how I feel about BOG. Not the quiet part lol but the atmosphere can't be beat.

I booked with my TA after having several friend recommend her, and I really do think she's great, but I may be too much if a control freak to hand the reigns over...Lol. I have been planning this trip since my son turned 1. And we'll be traveling with he 2yrs9mos. So I have pretty much planned everything...
Another control freak here lol, The one time I was booked with a TA the room discounts I was looking for dropped at 12 midnight, could not get hold of her and I decided to change the resort when I saw it was available for a discount within my budget so I cancelled my reservation I had with her and did not transfer over the new one I made myself, she was angry but I need to have control

If two day park hoppers are required for FD, can I buy those and then apply them to an annual pass? (Even a weekday select)

Yes you can apply the required tickets toward an AP. I've never done it, so I'm not sure how you do it or if you can do it before you get there. Over on the Theme Park Strategy board, there is a ticket sticky that would probably answer the logistics of how it's done.

there is a button in the e-mail to click to enroll, maybe try logging into your DV account with Chase and look at offers

I'm so sad. I never got an email and there is nothing in offers. :( Why must you be so cruel and only offer things to certain people, Disney?!!? :lmao:

A couple of off topic questions for the experts here. :offtopic:

Can anyone out there with an annual pass tell me what the resort discounts are like right now? I can't see them, just that a discount is available, and I'm trying to weigh all my options.

The latest AP discount that is valid til June 10th just mentions "great rates". It doesn't give a percentage. If you want to give me dates/resorts, I can price them out for you. :)

I think some people want an existing res because they think it will be easier and faster to just modify it to include FD than to start a whole new res when FD drops. I don't know if it will or not, but I've heard people say that.

I've got my room because I know I'm going whether FD drops or not. I also know that if/when FD drops, rooms fly off the shelves. But that's just me.

Yeah, not sure why a current booking would get you to the front of the free dining queue. I've got reservations for November and hope for free dining but if it is available I'll have to cancel my current reservations and try to book a FD room. Can't convert my current reservation.
Why wouldn't you be able to convert it if the "modify" button is there?

We did this during free dining 2015. Anytime during your visit go to customer service and request to upgrade your tickets to AP and they will apply the amount paid for the tix to an AP. Then have a magical year!

And if you're planning to upgrade to an AP, you should purchase tickets for your length of stay now (instead of 2 day tickets) so that you can make fp's in advance.

I had to call in because I couldn't get 11 nights in one stay. I had mentioned that I was hoping for free dining so the CM set up the entire reservation the way that it "should typically" need to read. The stay length, the PH passes, and the added dining plan. She said that will have me set up to change my dining plan to free if/when it shows as available. My change reservation button wasn't working so I spoke to IT and they fixed the problem (which I believe was actually a typo in the name of the package reservation.) As to whether or not that works, time will tell.

If the modify button is there and it will let me change that's great. But my understanding is that there are a limited number of FD rooms offered, and booking a regular room doesn't get me preference for FD. Point I guess was that reserving a room now doesn't get me an advantage for FD

Seeking advice:
This December we are going to wdw with a big family group (16 people) and are wondering if anyone has experience at TS restaurants with a large group? Which restaurants were a good experience? I have a list of which restaurants take reservations for large groups, but am wondering what people's experience has been. Thanks!

Biergarden is nice because of the long tables, you can all be seated together. Also Ohana for seating mostly together

Biergarten is great and a lot of fun for large groups. You could get two tables of eight side by side.

We're not going until Sep so any dates just for an idea so I can compare to the other discounts out. We'll be going for 10 days Sun-Wed at POR. Thanks for your help!! Here's some extra pixie dust for you. :tink:

I have a package booked because our dates are set. I'm not certain we wouldn't change resorts if FD isn't available but we booked in Oct so if I booked my same package right now it would cost me $400 extra. That cost savings could mean I could keep my res even without FD.

We're going regardless of FD as well, and we're getting the DP regardless as well. I booked already (back in september) for a really dumb reason though...the trip just doesn't seem "real" to me until we have something booked. My dates are extremely flexible, as long as in Nov or Dec. So, we're pretty much picking our dates according to FD, so I guess we shouldn't have booked yet. Though we are going either way.
