Official 2017 D23 Expo Thread

Just waiting for extremely hi-res concept art now. Last time they released a really clear and huge painting of Toy Story Land that's still on my computer, I just need the new Epcot ones :D

This clears up a bit of information on the new theater. Just looking at the theater and where it was located it appears instead of keeping with more small town feel the theater is modeled after the Willis Wood Theater which is located in Kansas City, MO so more of a bigger city feel. KCMO is where Walt Disney worked at Laugh-O-Gram Studio (which despite living in the KC metro I have yet to make it there to take a pic of it :o).

Laugh-O-Gram Studio is located approximately 10mins (just about 4miles depending on the route and of course traffic) south of where the Willis Wood Theater used to be.

Here's a bit of background on the theater for those interested:

What I don't understand is where this is going. It makes it look like it's out in the middle of nowhere by its self.

I have to be honest....just about all of these WDW announcements have been leaked for months or heavily speculated. I am THRILLED for the changes but there wasn't much in the way of surprises. I am looking forward to when the construction is over. Lots to look forward to!

VERY excited for a new theatre in Magic Kingdom. A stage show is the only thing the park doesn't really have right now. Getting to the point where you need three days to get everything done.

In the service area behind Main Street...where the "back exit" that they use for firework dumps currently routes you.

Or to put it more clearly: what the view from California grill is

I agree it's confusing.

Another poster had this information though:

BTW the new magic kingdom theater is OFF of main street not directly on it according to Dis Unplugged reporting on youtube. It IS directly modeled after a theater during the SAME TIME PERIOD located in Missouri

Everyone went crazy for Ratatouille in EPCOT and then people freaked out over the addition of Guardians. What's educational about Ratatouille?

It's about cooking set in Paris...

That's kinda a "big deal" in Parisian culture...ever been?
