All the expo updates are giving me flashbacks to Princess this year. There are really only 2 things I want, they'll likely be sold out by the time I get there late tomorrow.

Working today, and still have a ton to do tonight. Like finish race shirts! I finished half my packing Monday - then I had to unpack everything to give my daughter my suitcase - She leaves tonight for a school trip - then she realized it was too small, so she gave it back to me late last night - so good I don't have to buy a new carry on (she's using her brother's suitcase), but I have nothing packed. Though its mostly all together.

Where is BB-8 at in relation to things? Saw someone posted a picture on FB that he is at the Expo for photos all weekend for runners and their guests. Must have a bib to enter the line.

Outside big white tent...there is a sign and you'll see it after you leave building where you got bibs

I have stood in 8 lines today (merch in main hall, merch in second hall, dooney line by accident thinking it was general merch line, darkside bib line, 5k bib line, pre purchased items line, darkside shirt line, 5k shirt line) It feels like I walked a 10k by now....and I didn't get a medal for it.

SO glad I decided to do the VIP pick up thing. I don't like to buy any of the stuff so I just have to go there to grab my number - I hate dealing with crowds like that and losing park/family time just for my bib!

Question..How does one VIP the Expo and what does it allow you to do?

You can't do it anymore but it is something they started with this race. You pay $38 and you can pick up your packet shirt and any pre-purchased merch the morning of the race.

They put out more merch daily... even this afternoon, more will be put of the shelves. I've been going to these for years. It's amazing how everyone freaks out about the merch and I've seen 1 or 2 items sell out.

Do you need to stand in that line even if you are only going to pick up your shirts? My plan for tomorrow was to hit the merchandise first thing, exit the building to get my bib, and then come back in to get my shirts and gear bag. As popular as these things have become I am surprised that RD has not figured out a way to set up one huge tent that would just be for race merchandise. They have plenty of space out there to do it.

No, that line was only for official merchandise in the expo building. There are two locations for merchandise. There is another in the bib pickup building.

Just read the post about the new map for the 10K
Can someone tell me exactly which areas a new runner should be extra careful?
I have never run on anything except roads and sidewalks. I am a bit scared about the gravel and dirt sections.
I saw a post that some runners bring or use their phones for light but I was not planning on bringing my cel phone.
Will there really be areas so dark that runners need flash lights to see ??

Not everything. I talked to a couple of personnel there and kessel pins, for example, are completely sold out and no restocking

No that's ok, was just wondering for any future races. We were at the Princess Expo and I'm hardly surprised at what I'm seeing here today. I was questioning to see if it would be worth signing up for to avoid lines and such. Thanks!

My husband overheard today, CM "Get in line here." Guest rushes in line, then asks "What line is this?"

I cabbed it there this morning and glad I did - they opened right at nine. ( or a tad earlier - I got there at 9). still was a giant mess- they didn't limit people going in for the first 10-15 mins or so, so it was wall to wall people, could barely move. Jackets and pins were being hoarded like gold.

I would advise to get packets first - it moves fast and shirt pickup is in the main jostens building. I got merchandise first (so I walked all around the giant field and stood in line to get in), went out to get the packet, and then .... Found myself going all the way back around the giant field and back in line to get back into the Jostens building for the shirt.
