Official 2016 Star Wars Half Marthon - The Dark Side Weekend

At the Princess Expo on Friday, we were told that registration had been reopened for Star Wars. My wife and I had already signed up for the Half, but we couldn't say no to upgrading to the Challenge. The runDisney reps there told us to register (and PAY) for the challenge and then contact runDisney via email to get a refund for the Half. The problem is .... the email she gave me didn't work! The address given was wdw.sportsregistration(at)disney.com

Does anyone know the correct email address? Right now, we have about a grand invested in this race, and we need some of that back asap!

Not sure about what email you should have received or why that is wrong, but, I would go onto rundisney.com and send an email to their general inquiry email in the meantime. They can either forward or give you the correct one.

I heard that they changed up the course on the half (possibly also the 10K), which is allowing them to increase the number of people out on the course.

That's interesting news. I guess we'll see what happens. I really wish they would put some more information out there. I get more and more nervous as time goes by.

UPDATE: I got the forms from that email address, and I've already returned them. I will admit that I totally missed the $35 change fee. Thinking back, I think that may have been mentioned, but I was too busy going, "pretty medals.... you must be mine... yessssss.... mine all mine..."

Honestly, who is going to listen to addendums and caveats when a TIE Fighter medal is dangling before your eyes?!?

anyone know how starting and ending at a different location works? are we going to have to bus back to epcot after we finish to get our cars?

I can practically guarantee parking will be t EP, simply because it has the lot size necessary. Shuttle buses will take people back to EP from WWOS.

I got a refund email from Active yesterday, but my wife hasn't received hers yet, even though we sent the forms together.

It hasn't hit my credit card yet, though. You have to love how the charge hits the card immediately, but a refund... takes... a... v e r y ...

Are you following Jeff Galloway and rD website training plan? I am only planning like 6-6.5 this weekend. Also, here in Phoenix it should be a sweaty 80-something degrees so I have to get out early (which is harder for me than the run itself sometimes!)

Yep! Doing the 'finish in the upright position' 18 week plan. 80 degrees is warm but at least it will prepare you for the actual run in April! I'm 'spoiled' with these 50 degree runs!

I believe there was discussion on this a while ago in this thread, but I'm not sure there was a final conclusion. I think the best guess thrown out was in order to run in cooler temps longer (before the sun comes up), but it was only a guess.

Disney likes their runners extra sleepy???I just don't see the need to have it start a half hour earlier if their reasoning for doing this is the temperatures as the average temperatures this time of year will be in the 60's during the morning hours.I understand the runners that start in the last corrals and run the race at a 16 mpm pace will finish around 10am and the temps might make it into the mid 70's by then but Run Disney had the TOT during early October at night and at that time of year even at night it was still in the upper 70's lower 80's with more humidity.

It could be Disney is planning on honoring one of the most overlooked of the Seven Dwarfs- Sleepy.
