Do many runners choose to wear the race shirts for the race ??

So, you will likely get different answers to this. I choose to not wear a race shirt until I have completed the race (I guess I sort of view all race shirts as finishers shirts), but in many races, you oftentimes see people wearing the race shirt. It's not a big deal either way.
The only other thought is the general rule of nothing new at a race: eat what you normally eat, drink what you normally drink, warm-up and stretch exactly as you have done in training, and never wear anything new for a race. That being said, if you are doing the 5k, it is probably safe to wear a new shirt, but if the 10k or half marathon, I would go with something tried and true.
Early wakeups and early bedtimes the entire week before.
Melatonin works wonders
Really?! I did Dumbo in 2014 and Rebel Challenge in 2015 and never saw any preparty at DL? Maybe I missed it, but the area where the afterparty was was quiet and we just went straight to our corrals.Well, we had it at Star Wars at Disneyland in January, and it looks like there is a stage according to the event guide, so I would think so.
I'm not sure I quite understand a heat advisory when (i) the high temps are still predicted to be a few degrees below average and (ii) we are starting so early in the morning. It seems that the races will all start roughly in the mid-60s, and if you maximize your time on the course (start in the last corral and run 16-minute miles), you will still end when the temps are in the low-70s. I do understand that humidity plays a part, but for the 10k and the half, they are even predicting decent humidity (for FL). The 5k looks like it could be fairly humid.
I am sure I will regret posting this sometime in the middle of the half marathon.
What form do you use/how much?
I look at it the same way you do,I have never worn a race shirt during the race, with the one exception being the red half marathon shirt in 2015 which was very chilly and I used it under my short sleeve shirt, technically I wore it but not really as it was underneath.I personally won't wear a race shirt until after I've successfully completed a race - partially because @opusone pointed out that you don't want to do anything new on race day, but also because I feel like I need to "earn" it first. It's a weird superstition I have.![]()
I use 10mg tablets. Really helps with the sleep & jet lag when traveling.
