Official 2016 Princess Half Marathon Thread

Hubby is in C and I'm in D, so we will be in D! ;)

I have a non-running question for you all... does anyone own a reasonably priced portable charger for your phone that you would recommend? I have an iPhone 5 and I know for sure the battery will not last me an entire day in the parks.
My kids have iPhone 5s and they all got Dynex portable chargers for Christmas. They were $4.99 each at Best Buy, it was a special sale. They are normally $7.99. Still a fantastic price and it gives almost a full charge from completely dead.
Does the tracking actually alert your phone with noises or buzzing? Is it like text messages you get throughout the morning? DH and the kids will have arrived late at night on Saturday, so I wanted them to sleep in on Sunday. But I wanted him to get updates in case he was awake and wanted them :)
You can have it sent to a phone as a text message or to an email.

I have a mophie juice pack and it's just OK. I can get almost two full phone charges on it, but it takes FOREVER to recharge, so I have to remember to plug it in the moment I get home so it will definitely be good to go the next day.

My husband has an Anker and it is AWESOME. When my mophie finally dies, I'll probably get one of those because it holds more juice (I can even charge my iPad on it) and it recharges quickly. They aren't too expensive ... like $30? That's 1/3 of the price of the mophie.

If you select the phone option then updates will come in as a text message. Keep in mind that they may or may NOT be "real time". I am not sure why, but sometimes they come in much later than they happen and other times they come in as it happens...too much data to burp back out????
I have only used text and email alerts so I don't know for the other options.

We also use Anker lipstick chargers. Bought them through Amazon and they work great ~ compact size and fast charging.

My goal this time is to get a time that will push me up to G. Shouldn't be too hard, with the PoT I used, I was close to the H/I cut off. And that PoT was from July when I'd only been running a few months. I'm hoping that being more honest (and being stronger now) with my running will pay off.
And a certain someone :rolleyes1 is talking me into Dopey...... so this will be good motivation to keep improving!

So upset and frustrated. My husband's time was registered... apparently we forgot about mine. I'm in Corral P. *sigh* There goes any chance of taking photos.

I've purchased this that enabled me to charge my iPhone while in the parks. Just make sure you have this fully charged the night before and you'll be good to go! It's small to carry too so it's not bulky/annoying. I've plugged in my phone to this charger while I'm sitting down having meals.

Looks like I am the only one running in J! I will have the whole corral to myself! Yay! Just kidding lol. I have had a tough year. Broke my foot right before last year's PHM and could not run. I have a habit of falling down pretty hard before each big race, so I am hoping to avoid that this year. Wish me luck. Last long run this Sunday then gearing up and getting ready for the big day!

This!

Last year, both me & my BF signed up to receive my tracking information (I wanted notification on the course, and he wanted to know when I'd finish). However the texts came in much later than when I hit the check points and they also had my time quite wrong. BF almost missed me finishing because he thought I was 20 minutes away.

One of our runners is in J- she'll be the gal dressed like Vanellope Von Schweetz from Wreck It Ralph.

I ended up in F and my BFF in G. We run at different paces (I'm about 90 seconds/mile faster), and I was gonna drop back to run together, but I seem to be the only one in the group interested in stopping for characters, so I think I might end up sticking with my original corral and running on my own.

This is me 100% I was so close to H. Sadly I'm running with a group so I probably won't use this time to push up into G.

I'm having minor freak out today. PLEASE tell me I won't be the only run/walk/run person doing the 5 and 10k???

you will not get corrals for 5k until you pick up your bib at the expo.

I think she's asking if the 10k corrals will follow the way the 5k corrals are (not) released, since they didn't already release them.

I've had my morphine for almost three years now and it has held up very well. It usually can hold 1 1/2 full charges, and it is small and compact.

Mophie? ;)

I recommend Anker. Highly. Majorly. DH loves them but has twice now gotten me something else to stop me using his Anker. Why not just buy me an Anker dude? Got the dynex lipstick one. Hated it. Has to be on to work and is heavy. Now it's some oolala brand. Heavy. Big. Annoying. He thinks it's fun because it has the iphone5 cord attached inside of it. I don't care about having an extra cord. Gimme my Anker dude.

I deferred and I have a waiver and bib number. Does that mean it wasn't approved?

Do you have your email confirming the waiver? If so you're in a growing group here and on the closed princess page on fb who are seeing the same thing.

If you remember doing the POT process and you took screenshots as you did it, you have a leg to stand on, so contact them.

No you won't- my DD and I will be joining you! And the farthest I have run/walk is 4 miles. I am freaking out about that.
