Well that looks reasonableI'm not sure if anyone else posted this but on the rundisney website under the blog they posted up the new guidelines for costumes during the races.

SAME!! I have seen people running in the full-length dresses and they always look miserable.Yes, just saw this. I agree, not totally unreasonable. Seems like most of the princess-y costumes should work out fine. I can't imagine anyone wanting to run with a mask or full length skirt anyway.

I hope your dad is doing okay!In terms of training, I got totally sidetracked (no running at all) the last few weeks by a major health crisis for my dad. I am now well behind on my long runs. I'm going to have to make some bigger jumps than I'd like. I'm thinking of jumping in at 8 this weekend and adding a mile a week up until 12 miles two weeks before the half. I was up to 6 before all the trouble started, and I did IGC back in November. I am hoping I have enough retained fitness that I will be able to get through 8 ok if I take it slow. I will also run Tu, We, Th, during the week. If anyone has any thoughts, I'd love to hear them.
I hope your dad is doing okay!
I have also gotten majorly sidetracked. I tried a different training plan and it completely backfired on me, resulting in a back injury a couple of weeks ago that I'm starting to feel okay from. Also, I've been sick...ugh! Not totally sure what I'm gonna do yet but I'm hoping to start things back up on Monday.
Seriously...stick with what you know works. I am going back to Hal Higdon (well, a modified version for Princess). I totally regret straying away from that plan. Thanks! He is currently still in critical, but stable condition. The doctors are changing a few things over the next few days which will hopefully lead to slow and steady improvements.
Sorry about your back injury! I hope it continues to improve and you can start back up as planned Monday. Injuries suck!
I was going to go with a new program, but decided to stick with my tried and true Hal Higdon. Hoping the slow build of the Wednesday run between Tuesday and Thursday easy runs will help with the back to back portion of the the races. The other program would have had more Sat/Sun back to backs, but I have not done them my last three challenges weekends, and I just don't feel ready to do them right now. Afraid it would lead to injury, so I am going with what has worked in the past.
Thanks. I have successfully deferred for next year. I am also registered for the Star Wars 10K in April. Still hoping I can make that one even if I only walk it.@MaryJ - Your positive attitude is inspiring! Thoughts & prayers for a full recovery.
@princessluna14 - We will be making our final payment next week - yay! So close to our trip!
