Official 2016 Princess Half Marathon Thread

Still no corrals for the 10k. I'm starting to feel like the red-headed step-child.

At my race yesterday, I came in 107 out of 148... except that there were not 148 people lined up to run. It says it is a certified course but it wasn't chip timed. Instead we were handed a number as we crossed the finish line and then had to go fill out the information. I'm pissed because the person who got 106 crossed after I did but the person handing out numbers was closest to her and gave her 106 and told me to go up to the other girl handing out numbers, further away. No, one number doesn't matter at that point but still... It says she had 20 seconds on me but that is because it was 20 seconds before I got to the person handing out the number cards. Oh well, I still improved my time even with the hills and 30 degree temps!

I only got 9.66 miles done for my last long run for Glass Slipper. I did get 5.09 in yesterday. I felt a blister coming on my left foot and didn't want to worsen it, plus I needed to get the house cleaned and everything made for our Super Party. At least I had the Rebel Challenge 3 weeks ago so my muscle memory should be there.

I did what I suspect will be my only training run for Glass Slipper yesterday - 15k. It went ... well, let's just say it's done. I'm glad I had a crap race here in Texas, so that will bode well for three great races in Florida!

Working on my costumes this week, but I seriously probably won't pack until about 8 hours before my flight leaves on Wednesday.

Take care of those toes! We are so close now.

I am! I've always had trouble with this toe, just never had it bleed so much during a run that my shoe felt squishy! :)

Cut the run short, cleaned up the mess and put a bandaid around the poor toe!

Later, we went to Walmart to look for throw away clothes on clearance...and found $3 fleece jackets!

Did my practice costume run today, from the safety of my treadmill. Didn't feel brave enough to run in public wearing a tutu!

I was worried as my one tutu is knee length, but it was no problem at all. 2 weeks to go :goodvibes

I think I'm going to have to forgo the costume trial run: our home treadmill bit the dust (proud to say that I burned out the motor doing a 20-miler before Marathon last year! But haven't had funds to replace yet). My options are do it at the university gym on the treadmill in front of dozens of college students, or outside. I think my Maleficent horns and cape might attract more attention than I'm willing to accept, so I'm just going to have to hope for the best!

Speaking of which, does anybody have any tips for comfortably running in a waist-length cape??

My husband is going to be full on Rapunzel. Dress, Wig, Gloves, Purple Compression Pants and a stuffed Pascal. I can't wait for the before/after pictures.

We will have to meet up. I will have the green dress, red wig, purple tank top, green fish net, stuffed sea life and star fish attached to the net and a tiara. Not going to do leggings although might have fish scale sleeves. Sent a couple of pics to my daughter and she thought it all was great. I will pos a pic on here when finished and go out for the trial run next weekend.

OK I have a weird and possibly disturbing question (haha how is that for lead??) This is my first time traveling alone, and while I totally feel safe staying on Disney property, I think I would feel better if I brought my little pepper spray I have . .. Does anyone know if the TSA bans pepper spray inside checked luggage?

TSA has a website where you can type stuff in to see if it's allowed (here https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/prohibited-items in the upper right corner). Looks like pepper spray is okay in your checked bags!

Checked baggage with the following rules: One 4 fl. oz. (118 ml) container of mace or pepper spray is permitted in checked baggage provided it is equipped with a safety mechanism to prevent accidental discharge. Self-defense sprays containing more than 2 percent by mass of tear gas (CS or CN) are prohibited in checked baggage.
