Official 2016 Disneyland Half Marathon Thread

Hope everyone enjoyed the race today! The weather was perfect for me. Mid-60s and cloudy with a light breeze. The course was nice, too, I thought. The park sections at the beginning were great, but I just don't have the emotional connection to DL that I do with WDW. The off-property sections were ok, but the local support (dancing kids in traditional garb, marching bands, cheerleaders, etc) really helped break up the monotony. The 3/4 mile or so of classic cars was neat, too. The highlight for me was running into and around the field at Angels Stadium and seeing myself on the Jumbotron. At a point in the race when energy and enthusiasm are flagging it really provided a nice boost of energy.

Out of curiosity, did it seem like the mile markers were off, though, for most of the race? I was hitting mile markers significantly ahead of my Garmin tracking and that never happens! Also, did it seem like water stations were really backloaded on the course? After Angels Stadium it felt like there was one around every corner! Not a complaint, it just seemed weird!

All in all, a great weekend of running. Still hope to run into some of you guys before we scatter to the winds again.

Congrats to everyone that did races this weekend and I hope those doing the half today enjoyed their tour of DLR and Anaheim. This was my 10th DLR half and great energy throughout the course.

On the water stop question, they have more stops at the last 5k of the race as the temps have varied greatly over the years and it has been hotter in the weeks leading up to this year's race. Good for those taking 3.5 hours to complete and starting from the last corral.

Looking forward to seeing all of you that will be in Paris in a few weeks to get the Castle to Chateau medal.

Off to the parks to get fast passes!

Congratulations to everyone running this weekend. I loved my first RunDisney experience at Disneyland. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't hurt as much without all the walking around the parks Friday and Saturday, but it is well worth the pain. Glad to have gotten a couple of last drops on the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror! Everybody have safe travels home.

Congrats to everyone that ran this weekend! I wish I could have joined you, but still got to wish as many people as a I could a great run while at the Expo all weekend long. It's been a blast to see everyone with their medals while at work today ( sorry about the obnoxious girl at Radiator Springs Racers shouting congratulations to everyone if you happened to be there ;) )

Sorry I missed you! @MommaoffherRocker and I met up for a drink, but didn't last too long in the brutal Anaheim sun.

I'm sorry. I never made it that far! After lunch and finishing up my shopping for folks back home I crashed. Hope you enjoy the WoC Dessert Party, though! I'm going to take another run at the DLP fireworks. Fingers crossed they're not cancelled again.
