I think not having a portion of the merchandise actually up for preview could have something to do with that.

Had I known it would've been this empty, I would've gone downstairs for a peek at all the "runners" with empty suitcases waiting in line for Dooneys.

My new official stance on why we saw no merch - this is RunDisney's way of slowing down the eBay market. Or whatever.

It made sense in my head when I thought of it ... I'm going back to sleep.

So I wasn't sure about this theory, but a friend pointed out that no merch previews = no pictures for eBay-ers to use for listings before they have the item "in hand." Totally makes sense since there are listings for the Dooneys up on eBay already (all 3 at $400 apiece - even the wristlet!).
