Official 2016 Disneyland Half Marathon Thread

I'm from Ohio and am a pale Irish lass...I thought the sun was brutal. I remember it feeling a little humid during the races as well. Definitely pack your sunscreen!

While it was overcast and "cooler" during the Tink half- by the end of the race the humidity levels had really risen making it uncomfortable even sticky.
Hoping DL is drier- less June gloom- although the cloud cover was really wonderful for awhile.

Did they give out the cooling towels at last years DL half?

Yes they did give the cool towels out after DL half last year. I personally did not think it was all that hot out during the race either. The weather to me felt just right and I do tend to overheat easy. So it is all perspective for each individual.

@SarahDisney I think you may be right!! I agree with someone else who said that the medals might help them sell the empty spots!

Disneystore.com is running a 25% off promo through Sunday and it includes the runDisney merchandise! If you've been eyeing anything it's a great time to go get it!

I, of course, took advantage of that. So thank you!

Someone was talking about needing a room. I am getting ready to cancel a reservation at the Fairfield Inn Anaheim Resort (arrive Thursday, depart Monday). Let me know and maybe we can coordinate.

I just got back last night from our yearly family vacation to Disneyland and had a WONDERFUL time! Can't wait to go back in September for the race!
It will be fun to see the 60th fireworks one last time... And I think everyone should plan to celebrate finishing their races with a Churro Funnel Cake at the Hungry Bear. Those things are amazing.

While we wait for the medals to appear... Here is my quick vacation recap video if anyone needs some motivation over the next 45ish days of training:

I have been flailing over here for about the last 5 minutes after seeing that medal photo. Thanks @MommaoffherRocker for posting. :thumbsup2

I'm thinking a blue tech shirt because of the ribbon color? I'd be fine with either the blue or green because they're bright, bold shades.

I LOVE the medal and they ALWAYS seem to look better in person than in these photos. EEEEK!

Love the design with the classic D there. Loved doing the Disney World marathon, but Disneyland is home for me and I'm looking forward to this! I really can't wait to see what the courses will be like this year.

Thanks for posting! I've got to say I'm not terribly impressed with the design compared to past DLH medals. Just doesn't do anything for me. I love the ribbon, though. Here's hoping the 10k and DDD turn out better!
I agree! I wanted a castle medal but am happy that at least they brought back the D. I am hoping it looks better in person.

Does anyone know what the race courses will be?

I'm running the 5k and was wondering where it ends? If possible I'd like DH and DD to be at the finish.... That's assuming it's outside the park and accessible.

The courses are in the process of being re-done due to Star Wars Land construction. They'll announce the official courses closer to the race - about a week before. Traditionally the race has finished in Downtown Disney - so it'll be easy for your husband and daughter to find you. Where you'll be running is another question because if you look at last year's course... the entire area behind big thunder is now closed for construction.

I would assume the finishline is staying the same. Take a look at last year for reference.
