Official 2016 - Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend

Has anyone had any luck updating info with Active? I registered my niece and put the wrong Year in her DOB. runDisney said to update it on active but we're having trouble on the site. Any help you can provide would be appreciated!

From the Active home page, once you're logged in, have you tried clicking on the drop down menu on the top right of the page, click View My Profile, and then towards the left, click on Profile Settings, and if you scroll down, you should be able to enter in your DOB? Or change it? I'm fairly certain it works because I think my friends and I use the same Active account (since I have the premium or whatever) to get our convenience fees or whatever they're called waived.

Hope that helps!

I'm such a newbie. LOL. What is assembling mean? Haha. I'm registered for the Half Marathon. I'm walking. I need to catch up on this thread. I just found it. Any other walkers?

Just registered for the half! We'll be in the area for other reasons, and I was originally planning to run a local half, so replaced it with this one. Funny not to register the day registration opens, submit POT (did anyway, even though it won't count) etc.

I signed up for Tink about 6 weeks out, submitted POT and it counted. Yours will too!
Apparently as long as it is still open and you submit at the time of reg- it WILL count.
With so many races not selling out before POT cutoff- they would have TONS of people in the last corral otherwise. LOL!

Wow - thank you!!! This is great news!!! I was wondering why they still asked for that info and I'm absolutely thrilled! I'll have to go back a corral to run with my son, but I can finish under two hours and his POT puts him around 2:10, so this will make a big difference. Thanks again!

Looking for advice! Running with my 17-year-old son. I always run in running clothes inspired by a certain character, but never an actual costume. He has and will run in costume, including head-to-toe Lumiere and a full length Elsa dress and wig before they changed the rules. But that's for 5Ks. For half marathons, he's run with a Sebastian the Crab hat but otherwise regular running clothes.

So the question: Option A is he's Captain America and I'm Wonder Woman. Likely to be comfortable, but not very creative and WW isn't Disney/Marvel. Then he suggested Option B: he's Edna Mode and I'm Mrs. Incredible. I love this idea, but not sure about the implementation. Edna Mode would be black tech shirt and shorts, with a wig and glasses. A wig and glasses for 13.1 - not sure.

Sounds like a fun idea. I ran the Disneyland races in 2015 (first trip to DL) and found I needed SUNglasses for much of the half-marathon and had no problem wearing them either on my face or on my head for the race. They do fit well and don't slip. I don't know about a wearing a wig. Maybe someone else can chime in on that experience.

DH and I chose to make Superheroes our second trip to DL so we could see the Christmas decorations and enjoy cooler temps. I'll run in running clothes slightly themed to Marvel's Avengers. 5K- Blue tank with 3 Capt. America shield symbols appropriately placed to be a Mickey silhouette and a red sparkle skirt
10K - Dr. Strange tee shirt with short red cape, black shorts or leggings
Half marathon - black tank, black shorts or leggings, black Flipbelt, with black widow symbol sewn on either the tank or belt. Too bad I don't have running shoes to match anything!

Love your plan! About the running shoes - I know! Same here - I have a few pairs that I rotate but they never really match. As for Edna vs. Captain America, I'm leaning toward encouraging the Captain America. Going to remind him of how warm he was running a half with a plush Sebastian hat earlier this year, and what a mess that Elsa wig was for the 5K last year. And if those winds kick in . . .

I actually heard a radio commercial for runDisney locally here in Southern California over the weekend - it was strange to hear, I've never seen/heard an advertisement for them before. They mentioned Avengers, so I had to look - yup, registration is still open. :rotfl:

Those bags :love::love:

I know I am usually in the "anti bags with white backgrounds" due to dirt issues... but I will have to make an exception for it. Dang it Disney.

Assembling... like "Avengers... Assemble!"
I will be walking most of it.

And OMG THOSE BAGS.

I have a white Dooney Oakland A's bag and it's 2 years old and I bring it to tons of games and it's in great shape. Those look leather not nylon so they should be good.

Wow they're really doing everything they can to get this race to sell.

Yeah, we just registered recently and if we had waited just a week could have saved $50 total for two half marathon registrations. Boo.

My running partners (mom and a good friend) laughed at me when I ran back to the room at 5am to get the sunglasses I'd forgotten before the first Avengers half. I had the last laugh with the Santa Ana Winds kicking up dust everywhere. I wear sunglasses for most runs anyway, but I'm with you on the wig. I guess it would be less comfortable than a ball cap, but if it's lined, maybe not too much worse?
