"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

ThIs will be our first party and I need some advice from past participants. I know I want to see the parade and the fireworks. Possibly the castle show. DS has zero interest in characters. Will we have time to do anything other than those 3 things?

If you are skipping characters, you should have plenty of time for rides and candy in addition to the fireworks, parade, and show.

I am so sad to keep hearing all this negative. We invited another family to go with us next Friday because of all the extra meet & greets and awesome parade and fireworks. We have gone for years and always enjoyed the Halloween party. Sounds like they are going to be so bummed with this experience. Like others have said, we can ride Space Mountain anytime. Both families are annual passholders and between a hotel and tickets I have a feeling I just wasted $500.

I thought Party tickets were non refundable? Did they give you any issues? Not that I want to cancel mine but would be great to know. Sorry you had a terrible time. I can imagine the last party which is my day will be extremely crowded as well.
They are.... BUT I asked extremely nicely in person and just explained my reasoning and they had absolutely no problems refunding both our party and dessert party tickets, with no penalty. I was so thankful! I'd rather enjoy our hotel (gf) our last night now anyways.
It was an experience, but not one I could see doing twice on one trip, if the next party ends up being anywhere close to the first one. DH's mouth hit the floor afterwards when he finally realized I spent $500 on 2 parties to begin with.... Oopsies!

Yes, you will need to purchase two separate tickets, the regular park ticket & the MNSSHP ticket. Keep in mind that you'll only be able to stay in the Magic Kingdom till close to 7pm cause the Party starts at that time. What you can do is purchase a MNSSHP ticket alone because you can get in for the Party as early as 4pm. So if you have the time and energy, you can go on some rides, shopping, etc before the actual party starts then from 7pm till the end of the night, you're enjoying the Party. :)

Not true. You only need to buy a party ticket if you don't plan to enter MK until 4:00. The person you responded to said she was planning on staying at her hotel pool until about 5:00 and then go to the party.

Well never got a reply lol, but went with the insurance card and purchased a special party band ahead of time just to be safe
Talked it over with friends all agreed that it was probably safe bet due to the bands level of want for me (was very high, as I've talked about it and last years version constantly)

I hate hearing all the negative comments :( I've seen some clips of hocus pocus stage show it alone gave me happy excitement chills!!

I think that the first party wasn't prepared to sell out (disneys fault as they should be prepared in case every party should sell out)

The old hag is out (who I hope to meet out 27th)

Try and stay positive attitudes everyone :)

Had a great time yesterday We started off with dinner over at the fort at the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue
Then we hopped on the boat to MK and got there around 5:00 or so lines at the bag check moved fast then we scanned our tickets got our wrist bands and a map and was off to a good start.

Got to see the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular two times the 1st one and the last one.
We did Thunder Mountain 2 times line was only like 5 min wait then watched the fire works.
Then off to the Haunted Mansion line was maybe 20 min got to see the lady in the grave yard talking and joking with guest.

Also did the pooh ride and got pics with pooh and friends.
The Tea cups were next just walk on then to the speedway about 5 min wait. Had a blast left the park around 12:30 on the boat back to the camp grounds
then about 70 min ride home so I did not get to sleep till 4:40 :fish:The crowds were busy but not like a big thing for us.

Here's a few pics I got And I also got a new shirt on the way out LOL

Ron.

:disrocks: This information is so very helpful for me in planning our first MNSSHP on Oct 1. First of all, no pumpkin waffle until Oct 5 has me puzzled! I mean, why Oct 5? Did they forget to order an ingredient and cannot get it in stock until Oct 5 for some reason? :drive:<-will this guy be driving like a mad man trying to get to MK in time for the party?

I look forward to more reviews as they trickle in and especially interested in Kenny the Pirate's report as well. We weren't planning on too many rides during the party. I want M&Gs and Halloween events/merchandise to occupy most of my time....throw in a few pieces of candy and I'll be a happy party goer....I really don't want to have to go to a second party. If we do add one on I hope I'll still be able to get tickets for it as we would definitely be waiting until after the first party. It would take some maneuvering of dinner ADRs but it isn't impossible to do. I wonder how many of the the future parties will sell out now? Do you think people will read reviews and automatically purchase second party tickets? Was THAT the plan all along? Things that make you go hmmmmmm :rolleyes1

So funny about pumpkin waffle!! I totally agree, why the 5th?! Fingers crossed for earlier!!

I don't think the large crowds will affect us because we are doing rides only. No characters, maybe see the parade, depending where we are when it passes. Will probably catch fireworks from the carousel area. That way we can fly over to SDMT and finish up with rides rides rides!!! Oh, and get some candy on the way to rides if there is no wait.

Does anyone have a link to the party magic band? I doubt it'll be around for Halloween night, haha.

Is the construction around the castle finished? I am always looking for that perfect castle photo. Going Oct 20th and feeling a bit obsessed about how the castle will look!

No there is work still being done off to the left and to the right.
There are temp walls about 4' tall in some places

Construction is not finished around the castle.

Monorails were running late last night just early in the morning they are running later.

I'm sorry but I have to laugh at people complaining that the parade line was three people deep. I honestly don't understand how this is insane.

I hope we'll be okay too. :wave2: We're going Friday night. We don't do M&Gs. We're hoping to get in the second parade, the show, and the fireworks. Trick or treating possibly. We'd like to ride as much as we can.

I really LOVE Halloween, so I'm just excited about the atmosphere and want to get some decent pictures.

I'm repeating to myself that I'm going to have a positive attitude about the crowd and weather. ::yes:: :umbrella:

We are not going for the Characters either. Stage show is not a must do. If it happens then it will be in passing. Parade, rides, candy, magic shot at HM and fireworks. Now trying to figure out in what order and where is another story. We have never been and I am trying to avoid the larger sea of ppl for navigating through with my family.

Oh and yes, I am told the cupcakes so I am going to have to go to the Bakery. What time do they start serving them? We have a 4:00 at the Plaza. I think I should get off of Main Street soon lol.

This cracks me up, too... I am from New Orleans, where during Mardi Gras, the crowds are up to 10 people deep. I'm seriously considering skipping the majority of the parade. I don't think my son will really "get" it since we are from New Orleans and they aren't throwing anything at the parade. haha.

so were the crowds REALLY that bad? Does anyone know how long the wait was for the dwarves and if it got short during the parade or fireworks? I think that's the only special characters he'd love to meet (he recently discovered them after watching snow white)

We are going next Tuesday and I'm hoping the crowds aren't like they were last night. I'm hoping the media was the large part of last night's crowd.

I am thinking it will be rides, candy, and fireworks and catching the parade if we pass by it. :)
