"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

Was it an actual cancellation or was it due to the ride being down? PotC went down several times on our Oct trip last year.

After looking at it again, it was a "change" alert, which is probably different from a cancellation, so it very well may have just been down. I assumed it was because of the time and all I saw was cancelled, ugh. Now I know this year.

Is it really ok to have one person waiting in a line and the others riding, or coming and going? I feel like it might be considered rude, people in line might get mad?
That is my thought too. But again, I totally understand it if there is a little person involved. Depending on the age it is important to keep little ones from getting bored. Of course, we always had our kids with us while waiting for things.....you know, teaching them that some things are worth waiting for, etc......BUT again, I understand to a tired and cranky 3 year old there aren't a whole lot of teachable moments :ssst:

Personally, I'm ok with it... I'm the line holder. I'd rather have other people's potentially cranky children enjoying rides while Mom or Dad holds the line for 1+ hour. Having said that, there's just 2 of us. But it would irk me if what OP saw happened, where a line holder was holding it for 10-12 adult friends. Seems like a few of them could have held the spot, even if it meant taking turns, just so others waiting in line would have an idea they might have a longer wait than they're anticipating. But that's more a personal thing with me...there's nothing different in this situation than if it's a parent holding the place for the family.
Yes! This is my point. It did sort of irk me because I considered it worth waiting in line for....but my time isn't worth any less than those 12 teen/adults who didn't feel it necessary to wait, kwim? Of course, maybe they would have been obnoxious to wait in line with.....in that case, I'm glad they weren't in line with me for an hour :rotfl:

If you mean do we have a park hopper for our party day, we do.
We have a package with a hopper so we plan to enter MK at the early EMH at 8am. I know it'll be a super long day but it's only the two of us. Our plan is to eat breakfast in our room and be at MK at rope drop.......lunch at BOG a little after noon then eat a quick CS sometime before they all start closing, lol!
So sorry I'm new to posting and I must have posted before I finished my sentence, lol! We have seven day passes with park hopper and it would only cost 42.60 to upgrade us all to 8 day passes with park hopper. Would you recommend this as then we could do a table serve lunch and quick serve dinner? I understand about not wanting to miss party time!:yay: The one night I could get Be our Guest Dinner was during our MNSSHP and we turned that down (which was really hard to do) because we didn't want to miss that much of the party!

I really like The Plaza and think that's a great time. I have 5:30p there for our party night. Looking forward to sitting in the air conditioning for a while. They made my sister a patty melt last time. Good food at a reasonable price.
I looked at the menu and I think the kids would love it! Do you think we would be done eating before party time?

It might be ok, if I want to sit there alone most of the time ;) I guess I cld talk to the person behind me and tell them we are not all taking photos! My kind might want to I guess but we will do one photo.

How does this sound? It's our first day of Vacaction, daytime is spent at resort and relaxing.
FP 3:30-4:30 jungle cruise
(Arrive at 4)
4:30-5:30 small world
Eat at CHH
5:30-6:30 haunted mansion

I know small world doesn't really need a pass but I am not sure what else to do, it's my daughters fav ride want to make sure she gets on in case it's a long annoying line.
Of course if I wait for jack and Sally will change things.

I would arrive no later than 3:45, as sometimes they start letting in MNSSHP people a little early (if the park's not too crowded).

About the saving spots debate...

I'm usually in a group of just my BF and I, or plus 2 other adults. If we end up leaving the line it is to use the bathroom or to get some food to eat while in line.

I don't mind if a family with small kids splits up, especially in these crazy MNSSHP lines where we all line up 2 hours early before the party starts.

I think it would annoy me too though if a big group of adults came back at the last second. Especially if they then all split up for solo pictures.

On another note, I just finished writing my email to Disney about the Parks Blog statement of which characters would not be available to meet. If anyone else is sad about that, I encourage you to write too. Only way things will change.

I'm going to wait until after the first party and see how things pan out.

I am so upset that Maleficent will not be doing a meet and greet, and now you can't even pay extra to meet her at Villains soiree. That's beyond crappy Disney. One of the most iconic Disney Villains of all time, and you can't even meet her. So basically we are buying a party ticket for a parade, fireworks, and trick or treating?

My four year old is currently obsessed with Sleeping Beauty, and she's going dressed as Maleficent for Halloween. Every day she asks me if she's going to be able to meet Maleficent when we go back to Disney World for Halloween. I sincerely hope seeing her on stage during whatever show she's appearing will be enough.

I know I sound melodramatic, but I'm just really, really disappointed.

Can you please post the email address? Sorry if you've already done so.

The good news is that the parade and fireworks are awesome, and the new show is going to be great, I'm sure. Anything can happen between now and then. Maybe if they get enough feedback, they will come up with a way to have her available. It is also entirely possible that she may be there, but they are not going to make that info public on the off chance something happens like it did last year. We will know a whole lot more on Sept. 15th. :)

No need to be sorry!:goodvibes I find that focusing on the good versus the bad is always the way to go. I know that it is disappointing when we can't give our kids (and ourselves!) absolutely everything we had hoped, but the great news is that you will be at Disney! We're already "winning" so to speak. Lol! My kids were bummed that Jedi Training will be closed (DD is 12, so this was her last chance to try it before aging out) and they moved up the BB refurb (this was to be our kids' first water park), but even at 10 and 12, they know that just going to WDW is pretty darn special so we'll deal. :)

@smitch425 ...going back to your last post that "it counts as a 1 day MK ticket" - if we use our FD package tickets to book AKL FPs on a MNSSHP day, are we still able to book MK FPs on the separate MNSSHP ticket?

No, you're right. We are thrilled to be going back to Disney! So sorry about Jedi Training- that IS a bummer!

Only if you create a separate MDE account. You can only book 3 in advance for one day per MDE account.
