"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

From the promo pictures i've seen Hot topic probably would have stuff that would work. Some of their fitted stuff is so small it can fit kids/tweens.

Is there a breakdown somewhere of the times and locations that events are taking place during the party? Like Cadaver Dans, etc? I'm trying to somewhat figure out our game plan for the party. Also, where are the various M&Gs and who.s available to meet?

No one will be quite sure about characters this year until the first party. If you Google Kenny the pirate he had some good layouts of last year's party which should be pretty similar to this years.

Even though I have to wonder what they'll do with the villains dance party this year if the diamond horseshoe is under refurb.

Thanks! My kids are only 5 & 8, so Hot Topic isn't a place we frequent (yet), so I always forget about it. I might be able to find some things for the 8 year old since she's pretty tall.

It looks like my kids have settled on being Mal and Carlos from Disney Descendants. There are Mal costumes online but they all look pretty cheap to me, and nothing for Carlos, but I'm also thinking these are perfect DIY costumes. This will be a new adventure for me...usually we buy our costumes or have someone else make them. For the Descendants, though, I think it will be pretty easy to buy "real" clothes that will work as costume pieces.

That being said...I welcome any or all advice, best places to shop, what to look for, etc. I'm feeling completely overwhelmed right now!

Try Kohl's, they have a Descendents line of clothing (at least for girls, not sure about boys).

I bought the disney store Mal for DD and it's not bad but she also has some of the clothes from Kohl'a which are nice too.

Super stoked now............I booked a second party night for my best friend and I to enjoy on our vacation, so now we are going on Sept 27th and Oct 4th.........what she doesn't know is that I have booked the Hallowishes Dessert party for Oct 4th! I am anxiously awaiting reviews/pictures from the dessert party to convince me I won't be disappointed?????

I'm excited, still not sure if I'm going to do anything costume wise. May wear a sports shirt if the weather isn't super hot otherwise I'll be in tank tops and shorts.

Hot topic actually has a ADULT woman's top in xxl that i bought just for my stuffed stitch doll to wear cause it fits him more then it would a person. So you may find things.

:rotfl2: OMG, so true!

Does anyone know the rules on footwear for costumes at the party? I got the pink feet (slippers) for my Angel costume but I'm not sure if I'd be allowed in with "slippers."

I'll be there solo for the first party!

Are you wearing a costume I should look out for? My bf and I will be tale spin baloo and Don karnage.

I don't see why not, Gloria from modern family wore the mickey slippers :)

I don't think you'll have a problem, but have you considered wearing tennis shoes and then putting the slippers over those? I feel like my feet might hurt if I just wore slippers all night, but that's just me.

No rules I've heard of but you may wanna get a locker to put in a pair of sneakers. I tried boots my first year and yea never again I planned my 2nd costume dress length based on me wearing sneakers.

Hot Topic clothing runs differently depending on the item. My daughter is 12, and she can wear a small in a dress or tank and a medium or large in a junior cut tee shirt. I wear a medium tank, and a small or medium in the men's/unisex tees. Even if your kids are too small for their clothing, they have amazing Disney accessories. We never leave that store empty handed. Lol

I haven't seen Disney Descendants, but I looked after others said at Hot Topic and saw some stuff that might work.

I am so excited to say that my DD14, DD12, and I decided to dress up for MNSSHP :goodvibes, DH didn't want to go this year so he will be hopping over to Epcot to walk around and have dinner at Teppan Edo. We will be dressing up as the characters from Inside Out (I know shocker, there probably will be a lot of those characters walking around). DD14 is dressing as Disgust, DD12 will be dressed as Joy, and I will be Riley complete with a sponge hockey puck to hold for pictures. We completed all of our outfits yesterday, however I thought it might be a great idea to have them hold some balls or "globes" while taking pictures (nothing too big of course, just big enough so I can put them in our backpack when they don't want to hold them). DH said that we should all act like the characters in the movies when interacting with the characters and the CMs.
