"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

Anyone now what percent of adult couples dress up? DH is having second thoughts.

My wife dressed up and I didn't. Sometimes couples do that. Sometimes they do not dress up. Sometimes they both dress up . I wouldn't worry about it. Dress up if you want. Don't if you don't.

for those that have been-- this is our first time and we are going on Tuesday, the 22nd. What are the odds that the crowds will be "lightish" so that we can ride lots of rides without too long of a wait?

Thanks!

My husband and I dressed up and saw plenty of other couples dressed. Truthfully, it is soooo much fun dressed up. I think it adds more to the experience! Especially if you are going to do the Meet and Greets, the characters love the costumes. We had some great interactions. Jack was awesome with us.

I don't know about the crowd sizes for the 22nd, but in general during parties the lines for rides are low because so many people are doing the things that are party-exclusive (meeting characters that are only out at the parties, dance parties with the characters, castle show, etc.). At the Christmas Party last year, we rode BTMRR four times in a row with no wait and basically walked on anything else we went on. I've also seen in a few places that Sunday and Tuesday parties tend to be less crowded than Thursday and Friday parties...but I've also heard that the closer it gets to Halloween the more crowded it gets as well.

this is what I wanted to know. I don't necessarily thing my 4 year old will care about meeting villains so much... I think, more than anything, he will want to ride, ride, ride!!! Less wait means later on in the week we can skip around and know that he got to ride on the fun rides. Right now, the only villain he shows any interest in is Capt. Hook. ha! He will want to trick or treat though.

There are lots of other characters to meet during the party. Many in costume. We only waited about 15 minutes for the WtP gang, but this was taken at 11:50pm. It was also on a sold out night...

We were also at the same Tuesday party last year comparable to the one you are going to, and it was not sold out. Ride times were low, including 7DMT which was 25 minutes. It was 45 minutes at the sold out Friday party. Both nights were very manageable, so even if your party sells out, it shouldn't be bad at all.

Another non villain character that is only out for MNSSHP is Jack Sparrow. We met him in 2012, so we didn't plan to meet him this time, but he photobombed us on his way to his meet and greet last year. We have about 7 or 8 pics of him in various places. We were oblivious for the first 5. It was hilarious!

I was just talking with a friend about this yesterday - we met so many characters on our last trip (DD loves it) and this trip we only have 3 days in the parks so I'm trying to convince her that we don't need to re-meet all those characters, except that it would be fun to meet the ones that are in halloween costumes during our party! Do most characters have costumes on, or just a select few?

We're trying to find something interesting and simple (like those power ranger costumes in the first photo) for our trip in October... We have Chef Mickey's at 5 (first seating, I think), and are then heading to the party (we have 2.5 other days at MK this trip...so we're not hunting attractions..just candy, photo ops, and Hallowishes/parade viewing). Nobody wants to do the full dress up thing for Chef Mickeys, but we want SOMETHING for the party....

Since I see your avatar is a Batman symbol, why don't you all get Marvel t-shirts? Easy, cheap, and not too hot in the weather. Just a thought..... Happy planning!

That's a really good idea. I'll have to see if I can sell the rest of the family on it. There's 6 of us (my mother is joining us this trip)....so I might have to really hunt for variety...but....I can see us doing this, for sure.

Go to Walmart. They always have superhero shirts. The DC ones had capes last year.

for 4-7 pm you can..
Any recommendations on what to book during that time? We aren't big roller coaster people but I would like to take advantage of FP+ but not use it on something that will be a walk on during the party. I would guess Pirates or the HM but I thought I would ask.

PotC, PPF, and HM

Depending on when your party is, potc may be closed. I know it's closed first week of the party.

I'd say haunted could be the only thing I can think of.

Thanks! Fortunately Pirates reopens the week before our party. It might make sense to use FP for it since it will probably be in demand given how long it will be down.
