"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

We will need to eat dinner in MK around 6:15 and will hope to be done by 7pm when the party starts. I am thinking either Pinochio's or CHH. Are the QS restaurants crazy busy during this time? b/c of fpp and BBB appointment, eating earlier won't work. Also, is it better to do rides from 7-8pm or trick or treat at that time? We are tentatively planning on watching the 1st parade b/c we have the hallowishes dessert party booked that gave us the reserved parade viewing area.

We've eaten at Pecos Bills and the Pinnochio restaurant right before the party started and didn't really wait at either. The Pinnochio restaurant becomes a trick or treat spot (it's where they have the carmel apple wethers) during the party so it may close a little early. I'm not sure.

In our experience, you can trick or treat pretty much any time. Rides might still be vusy from 7-8, though.

i've eaten at both and they were good. Pecos Bills can be a bit messier though food wise if that is an issue.

Ooh, caramel apple werthers sound good! I've never been to the party before, do all the spots have different candy? And is there any way to know ahead of time what candy is where?

They all seemed to have the same candy, though if there were allergy issues you could "Trade" for safe things like raisins and what not. The caramel apple werther's are quite good. They are a regular werthers with a tart apple "jelly" center. You can sometimes find them at other times and they hold for ages I still have some from my trip left over and they taste just the same as when i got them.

The Werthers are only at Village Haus - the rest of the Trick or Treat Trails have the same random assortments of the typical Halloween candies. It's all name brand, high quality, yummy candy. :) They hand out Halloween colored Peeps as you exit the park too.

So is it worth is to hit more than one trick or treat spot or do they all give the same candy? We are going to the Nov 1 party and have a member of our party with a gluten allergy. Does anyone know what the safe alternatives have been in the past?

Depends on whether or not you want a ton of candy. We do most of the Trails just because they are there. We always leave with full bags - and that is PLENTY. I know some people bring their own bags or transfer the candy to a backpack or whatever, but we always feel like we get WAY more than we need anyway. You just get a lot more of the regular candy mix if you go to a lot more candy stations.

You can go to Guest Services to trade your regular candy for special diet treats. The Trick or Treat Trails don't have that stuff.

Have we heard if the party only Memory Maker is going to be available again this year? Or what/where the Magic Shots might be? I'll be at the first party on the 15th, so I'm sure information will be a bit last minute...

I hope so, this was a great feature last year.

In our experience, the spots seemed to have most of the same candy. My son is gluten free and a surprising amount of regular Halloween candy is gluten free. I forget which ones now since we only do candy around Halloween but look online before you go. You can look at what they have at each spot and request the ones that are GF.

we are going 10/25.. i'm booking FP+ and as of now i have a park day and 3 FP+... i linked my MNSSHP tickets but i don't see any additional 3 FP+ for 4-7pm. I was going to drop a park day since i'm not getting any extra 3 FP+'s but then the CM today said that if i drop a park ticket day that i'll get an email saying that my FP's will be gone. I'm confused b/c i read about others saying they got 3 for the day, 3 for the 4-7pm window, so i 'm not sure what the real story is... can someone confirm?

You can only get 3 for the day - if you have 3 in the morning or afternoon, you cannot pre-book another set for the party 4-7 timeslot also. Many of us do not go to a park before 4 PM on the party day, thus we can get 3 then. Or, some people create another separate MDE account for their party ticket, so book the 3 extra FP on that account.

You are limited to pre-booking only 3 FP+ per person, per day in advance within the same MDE. You can add "phantom" people to your MDE. Maybe use nicknames, or middle names. Then assign the MNSSHP tickets to those phantom people. For the MNSSHP, make sure your FP+ end by 6:30 PM.

thank you.. so if i book now for the 3 FP's and they're for 4pm-6:30pm, but then i drop a park ticket and gain access with my MNSSHP ticket will i "get an email saying the FP's are being removed" or will they be ok?
