Any suggestions on which date is better for the party? 10/20 or 10/22? I was thinking maybe Tuesday 10/20?

Definitely the 20th. Many local schools are out on the 23rd.

Costume updates, anyone? I’m almost done with the dress. The wig is not working out. It makes me look washed out. Not sure if people would still recognize Elsa without the wig (my dress looks strangely similar to Cinderella the 2015 movie!). I may have to add snowflakes to the cape to make sure. Not looking forward to getting all the glitter, I mean, pixie dust on the carpet!

My dress is in the mail, that's all I've got! I still have a million things to make but at least the biggest part is almost here!

When I did an Elsa costume, I tried out the wig and it just didn't work out. So I just braided my hair as it, and wore the crown. Could you do that possibly? Or maybe use a type of hair spray that frosts your hair?

Where in Fantasyland is a good place to watch the fireworks? That sounds like it would be a LOT better for me. I love the fireworks themselves, but hate the smushed in feeling of being on main street, and don't care much about the castle projections. Might be cool to try out a new perspective!

We stand by the new gate-type things (I have no idea what those are called, if anything), near where the 7 Dwarfs meet. It's less of an "offcial" watching area since it doesn't get totally dark so you can still move about freely. We also don't care about the castle projections and hate being trapped in the Main Street crowds so it definitely works best for us!

OMG! Reading this thread has me so excited! I was on the fence about going to MNSSHP this year since it would be solo and we just got back from our family visit. But.... now... looks like I MUST GO!! The castle show, parade and fireworks are the BEST!!

Definitely go solo!! I did it a few years ago, and am going again this year...it's the best thing you'll do on your trip I promise!!

I've officially ordered items for our costumes, so our new costume choices that can no longer be changed are: DH as Ghost Host from Haunted Mansion, Me as Queen of Hearts (tutu style), DS as Olaf, and DD as Vaneloppe Von Sweetz. Very excited to see it come together!

Can you look somewhere else for a wig? If not I agree with a pp, maybe try to frost your hair. You could always purchase an Olaf and carry him around, that might help to identify you as Elsa.

I think our costumes are coming ok. The bf found his tale spin baloo hat and knows which shirt to get. Think he'll just wear grey pants or shorts and he's done.

My friend who makes costumes for the theater is almost done with my Don karnage coat. I already have boots so I'll just need a sword and pants.

Haven't decided if I should get ears and a tail, what do you think?

My bf refuses to wear little bear ears for baloo, but that's OK since I think baloos hat covers them anyway.

In the past I have been able to use our tickets to sign up for FP+ options from 4 to 7pm. This year I am having trouble doing that. Is that still an option for others who have just bought tickets for the party?

I think you have to book them orior to 6:30 this year.

Try eBay for a cosplay wig from China. They are typically better quality. May be a better color.

Alright, I got scared when I saw that MNSSHP on Halloween is now sold out so I have now officially bought our party tickets for October 29th, our arrival day! I can't wait! Now we just all have to get costumes. ...that, and arrange the HHN fiasco I want to do.

Was waiting for some word on the Soirée before getting party tix but figured I better book now! Just got tix for 11/1 myself and nephew. He has appt. at Pirates League and plans to dress as a pirate I am undecided as of yet!

Any word or rumor regarding whether there will be a villains soirée or other special event which might include special fireworks/parade viewing area????

It's also pretty easy for me to switch into it in the bathroom once the party starts ...
